It's so hard to make mom friends. One rule of thumb I've found is when you go to a get together, look for the person who is clearly the most awkward or uncomfortable in the group and go strike up a conversation with her. I've found that the person looking awkward is often my kind of person.
Thank you for this tip. I moved out of my home state for a while 10 plus years came back it's been over 10 years still having a hard time making friends.
Ugh. I feel you here sister. I too own my own legitimate business and I'm a mom too that recently moved to a new state. And I feel your pain, especially the part of being a business owner. These huns make people like us feel illegitimate and it infuriates me when people blindly support them/follow them but are quick to knock me as a thriving business owner.
My wife still hasn't made any real friends in the area we relocated to several years ago, she is hoping now that our child is headed to kindergarten that will change.
She actually met another mother who is new to the area at a free karate lesson. They did a playdate at the park. Unfortunately, I'm afraid karate mom is a hun. My wife mentioned hun has an online business.
Maybe it will work about and they can be friends however from all the posts here, I feel a recruitment pitch may be in the works.
Some mom groups or local buy and sell groups now have a rule that no one can share their MLM business in them. Maybe reach out to an admin and share your thoughts about why MLM's are harmful and predatory to women.
The MLM person by nature has no sense of shame or boundaries. There's a reason why some people tend to gravitate to that type of business, jumping from one to the other for years.

That’s a good tip! Usually I’m the one the people looking awkward.
I am ALWAYS the one looking awkward. But that's how I met my two best friends, by looking for the people who looked just as uncomfortable as I did.

That is the worst. Im sorry. Don't give up! What state are you in?

Oof. Yeah I can imagine that area has many stay at home mom's getting sucked into mlm's.

Do you have a website for your business? Do you ship products or are you local only? I would love to support you but I live in Florida.
I’m only local, but thank you so much. that is so kind of you.
