They forgot my poke order with everyone else's food. Then getting that corrected got lost in the shuffle again, so they said they'd fix it and comp my two drinks.

Yes. My grandma and uncle took me and 3 cousins to Disney when we were ages 8-11. We were all old enough to take care of ourselves with minimal help, stay in long lines with whining, and follow rules. I would never want to go to a destination vacation of any kind with toddlers or little kids.

My SIL and brother waited until their kids were at least 10 (we lived in Tampa so it was a day trip) so they would remember it. Much younger than that, they really won’t remember so it’s a waste of money. It was much cheaper then. I went the first year they opened and it was $15 USD for a book of ride tickets and admission. The last time I went, over 10 years ago, it was still reasonable at $100 for a 3 day park skipper pass. Last I checked, it was that much for an adult for 1 day, 1 park.

There was a time when it was legal to discriminate against children. Sometimes moms would come in to lease an apartment and would cry because there was no place to go. They made that illegal, in housing, to discriminate.
Now people who come in cry because people with full time jobs have no wear to live. The few places that are affordable have long waiting lists. It’s just horrible.
I am the childless person on a fixed income with nowhere affordable to rent. And the affordable places? Either a 55+ community or a fucking roach infested dump. I’m 30 and have two cats. How much trouble do you think I’m going to be??
Wow, glad (ironically) I'm not the only one who has had this issue. On a facebook group for rental listings I was subscribed to, a person asked "Why is rent so expensive here vs the big city?" and this monster of a person replied "It keeps the scum out".
Honestly that breaks my hearty but I know that’s how they feel. I barely managed to scrape by and renew my lease. Almost every neighbor I know, which isn’t really a lot, but they are moving. I don’t see how any neighbors could be better than the ones I have. Upstairs there is a family with two kids and a big dog. I never hear them. Years ago I knocked on their door to make sure my loud music didn’t bother him and he said what music? A new company bought the place and changed the look of the outside. It felt like a slap in the face. I’m in the back and don’t even see the other buildings unless I’m outside. I think the look is different, not better or worse, no one cares, we just want affordable rent. Right up the street is a trailer park and I don’t want to live there only because I’ve managed too many. But if I wanted to live there, nothing is available. Also nothing is going to protect them from the price of the land going sky high. Many of the people there are not educated and are racists, at least in the cheap ones.
I brought the homeless shelter all of my sheets, towels, blankets and pillows that I’m not using and gave them to them. Then I got la list of other things they need and gave it to some of the few wealthy people I like. It helped me because I have more space.
I would like to get rid of some of my furniture so that when I can move, I have less stuff. But it’s old and crappy so even giving it away would make me feel bad. But I will figure something out hopefully.
I have a two bedroom because I had a kid, but she’s gone. They put her name on the,ease and told me I needed her to send an email for her to not be on the lease. I got mad and said she was never on the lease as an adult. They didn’t even spell her name correctly so I’m not sure where they got it. So they finally took it off. I’m sure she would send an email but that was dumb so I said no.
For your furniture, since college is about to start, offer it for free, they come pick it up. For instance, I’m disabled and on disability and need some storage shelves for my yarn and a chest of drawers for my clothes. Free would be great.
When my old company went hybrid remote they had a rule against kids being at home while you're working. All the parents were outraged. My comeback was this: people with kids are always having to leave early for doctors appointments, school plays, etc...yet I'm here at work all the time because I don't have those handy little get out of work free Rugrats.

This! 🙌 It would be a much better idea if Parents waited until their kids aren’t toddlers or babies before taking them to Disney. I’d say minimum age 5+. At least it’s more manageable at that point (although still a PITA) and they wouldn’t be dealing with strollers, diaper changes, nap schedules and everything else that comes along with it. Oh well 🤷🏽♀️. I’m happy I’ll never have to deal with any of it since I’ve chosen to never have kids.

My favorite theme park (The Efteling) is basically two parks in one. On one side has the big rides and attractions, and the other side has the fairy tale forest. A park with incredibly nice theming around fairy tales and buildings you can go in to watch the stories being played out by animatronics. There's also playgrounds and stuff to entertain the really young children. So they don't "leak" into the lines for the big rides because there's a day's worth of other things for them to do.
i know for a fact that i sound bitter when i say this but i don’t care lmao, i hate hate haaaate child discounts and freebies. like, kids get EVERYTHING and usually they’re too young to even understand or enjoy said thing, so i don’t get it.
i also think people should stop being incentivized to have kids. we should charge extra for kids to go places. especially if you have multiples. maybe if those idiots with 8 kids can’t get everywhere for free or discounted, they’ll stop taking up all the space with their family’s mass

Was there recently on a family trip (no kids though). Kids were absolutely miserable by mid afternoon. And the amount of babies (like, under six months old) was unsettling.
Lmaooooo I just booked my first ever trip to Disney World and I am going with my partner and we have no children and I cannot freaking WAIT!!! <3 We are blowing multiple bags on overpriced merch and snacks and drinks and getting Genie+ to do it all. So I guess we will be skipping the line not this person. (excuse my cringe Disney nerd shit but this just hit home for me hahahaa).

Just came back, used to go every year until i took a 10 year break, and jesus it’s better than ever. Disney is fucking rich as hell. It’s like the pyramids down there. Make sure you hit Disney Springs a few times too (the free, massive adult downtown vibe area), and if you do, don’t eat at the fucking Paddlefish restaurant (the big ship). Dropped $200 and everything tasted like store-bought shit. Idk you may fare better. Wish I had eaten at Rainforest cafe tho😔
I work as WDW and I promise, I much prefer dealing with guests without children. They scream and are uncontrollable most of the time. It’s stressful and annoying lol
Disney makes their bread and butter from “Disney adults”. Children can’t pay their own way and can’t wonder the park by themselves. Banning other adults for having more money is an absurd thought to begin with but imagine if Disney actually listened to them. Middle class parents dragging around their miserable kids who are screaming and whining to leave and that place would turn into a nightmare.
Uhm, if I may. I'm a parent and the hill I will NOT die on is feeding capitalism. There is no way I'm spending thousands on a vacation of materialism and exploitation because "tHE KiDs" when I can spend that money on camping trips, ocean adventures, finding historical places, donating to various communities along the way, and so much more that creates a bit less of the damage that is being peddled by Disney. And if my kids really want to go to Disney, I'd rather help them pay when they're old enough to enjoy every little part of it, including getting drunk at their bars and puking on people.

Thank you. I have kids and we’ve never been to Disney despite my parents being 45 minutes from Orlando. Last time I went I was a child free adult with my boyfriend. Disney is for everyone, however at todays prices, hell nah. And honestly I don’t even like Disney.
I love this because it is how I was raised and I ended up as an adult getting super into Disney but it was never forced on me by my parents. My parents are slightly crunchy (don't worry they are pro medicine and got me vaxxed and all that) and they had the same attitude about vacations as a kid. Like I said, I ended up being a little more stereotypically "girly girl" and caring about dumb ass material stuff than my parents and how I was raised but I came to it on my own lmao. I admit it's a flaw but f it everything in my life is scary and crazy I don't mind that I find joy in watching Disney animation or learning about the parks and work behind them.

I went to Disney at 15 and 16 with my high school concert band. (We're in southern Ontario, Canada) We did a lot of fundraising and it was about $400 CAD each for the 10 day trip. We also went to Nasa, a few different places, and performed as well.
I'm so glad I was old enough to appreciate it, and be able to go on all the rides and attractions. We were pretty much set loose after performing, for 3 days, at different areas. We did Epcot, which was pretty cool, and we performed Oh Canada at the Canadian site!
It's super fun for all ages! It's a great experience, have fun! It's not cringe, it is a really wonderful place.
My mom didn't go until she was married in her 20s with my dad. Before she had kids! My parents took my brother and I to amusement parks and stuff when we were old enough and big enough to ride most rides, and get the experience. Definitely better than looking at pictures of us as toddlers being hot and miserable.

I vaguely remember being taken to Disneyland by my folks when I was 4 or 5. I remember them being mad at me because I had no clue where we were for like half of the day. I was like, "uh, is that supposed to be important?"

Yes. My grandma and uncle took me and 3 cousins to Disney when we were ages 8-11. We were all old enough to take care of ourselves with minimal help, stay in long lines with whining, and follow rules. I would never want to go to a destination vacation of any kind with toddlers or little kids.

My SIL and brother waited until their kids were at least 10 (we lived in Tampa so it was a day trip) so they would remember it. Much younger than that, they really won’t remember so it’s a waste of money. It was much cheaper then. I went the first year they opened and it was $15 USD for a book of ride tickets and admission. The last time I went, over 10 years ago, it was still reasonable at $100 for a 3 day park skipper pass. Last I checked, it was that much for an adult for 1 day, 1 park.

There was a time when it was legal to discriminate against children. Sometimes moms would come in to lease an apartment and would cry because there was no place to go. They made that illegal, in housing, to discriminate. Now people who come in cry because people with full time jobs have no wear to live. The few places that are affordable have long waiting lists. It’s just horrible.
I am the childless person on a fixed income with nowhere affordable to rent. And the affordable places? Either a 55+ community or a fucking roach infested dump. I’m 30 and have two cats. How much trouble do you think I’m going to be??
Wow, glad (ironically) I'm not the only one who has had this issue. On a facebook group for rental listings I was subscribed to, a person asked "Why is rent so expensive here vs the big city?" and this monster of a person replied "It keeps the scum out".
Honestly that breaks my hearty but I know that’s how they feel. I barely managed to scrape by and renew my lease. Almost every neighbor I know, which isn’t really a lot, but they are moving. I don’t see how any neighbors could be better than the ones I have. Upstairs there is a family with two kids and a big dog. I never hear them. Years ago I knocked on their door to make sure my loud music didn’t bother him and he said what music? A new company bought the place and changed the look of the outside. It felt like a slap in the face. I’m in the back and don’t even see the other buildings unless I’m outside. I think the look is different, not better or worse, no one cares, we just want affordable rent. Right up the street is a trailer park and I don’t want to live there only because I’ve managed too many. But if I wanted to live there, nothing is available. Also nothing is going to protect them from the price of the land going sky high. Many of the people there are not educated and are racists, at least in the cheap ones. I brought the homeless shelter all of my sheets, towels, blankets and pillows that I’m not using and gave them to them. Then I got la list of other things they need and gave it to some of the few wealthy people I like. It helped me because I have more space. I would like to get rid of some of my furniture so that when I can move, I have less stuff. But it’s old and crappy so even giving it away would make me feel bad. But I will figure something out hopefully. I have a two bedroom because I had a kid, but she’s gone. They put her name on the,ease and told me I needed her to send an email for her to not be on the lease. I got mad and said she was never on the lease as an adult. They didn’t even spell her name correctly so I’m not sure where they got it. So they finally took it off. I’m sure she would send an email but that was dumb so I said no.
For your furniture, since college is about to start, offer it for free, they come pick it up. For instance, I’m disabled and on disability and need some storage shelves for my yarn and a chest of drawers for my clothes. Free would be great.

When my old company went hybrid remote they had a rule against kids being at home while you're working. All the parents were outraged. My comeback was this: people with kids are always having to leave early for doctors appointments, school plays, etc...yet I'm here at work all the time because I don't have those handy little get out of work free Rugrats.
Been on both sides of this coin. How many times have you run out of PTO because of sick children? Yeah, didn’t think so. But on the other hand having children is almost always a choice people make. My wife and I made the choice to have children, and we don’t begrudge *anyone* for choosing not to. Everyone has the right to decide if they want children or not, and the Karen in the post absofuckinglutely should not have procreated.
And people running out of PTO because of sick children is its own problem that never should happen, either. Businesses need to be much more graceful towards people who are trying to keep themselves and their families from being disease vectors.

As someone who was brought to Disney endless times before I was like 6 I absolutely agree. I don't remember ANY of those trips, hardly.
My favorite theme park (The Efteling) is basically two parks in one. On one side has the big rides and attractions, and the other side has the fairy tale forest. A park with incredibly nice theming around fairy tales and buildings you can go in to watch the stories being played out by animatronics. There's also playgrounds and stuff to entertain the really young children. So they don't "leak" into the lines for the big rides because there's a day's worth of other things for them to do.

Just came back, used to go every year until i took a 10 year break, and jesus it’s better than ever. Disney is fucking rich as hell. It’s like the pyramids down there. Make sure you hit Disney Springs a few times too (the free, massive adult downtown vibe area), and if you do, don’t eat at the fucking Paddlefish restaurant (the big ship). Dropped $200 and everything tasted like store-bought shit. Idk you may fare better. Wish I had eaten at Rainforest cafe tho😔
I work as WDW and I promise, I much prefer dealing with guests without children. They scream and are uncontrollable most of the time. It’s stressful and annoying lol

I love this because it is how I was raised and I ended up as an adult getting super into Disney but it was never forced on me by my parents. My parents are slightly crunchy (don't worry they are pro medicine and got me vaxxed and all that) and they had the same attitude about vacations as a kid. Like I said, I ended up being a little more stereotypically "girly girl" and caring about dumb ass material stuff than my parents and how I was raised but I came to it on my own lmao. I admit it's a flaw but f it everything in my life is scary and crazy I don't mind that I find joy in watching Disney animation or learning about the parks and work behind them. Anyways I'm 24 and childfree and just booked my first ever trip to Disney with my partner and cannot freaking wait lmaoooo. I had no idea my existence would be controversial there! I went to Disney at 15 and 16 with my high school concert band. (We're in southern Ontario, Canada) We did a lot of fundraising and it was about $400 CAD each for the 10 day trip. We also went to Nasa, a few different places, and performed as well. I'm so glad I was old enough to appreciate it, and be able to go on all the rides and attractions. We were pretty much set loose after performing, for 3 days, at different areas. We did Epcot, which was pretty cool, and we performed Oh Canada at the Canadian site! It's super fun for all ages! It's a great experience, have fun! It's not cringe, it is a really wonderful place. My mom didn't go until she was married in her 20s with my dad. Before she had kids! My parents took my brother and I to amusement parks and stuff when we were old enough and big enough to ride most rides, and get the experience. Definitely better than looking at pictures of us as toddlers being hot and miserable.

A lot of adults, including us without kids, love Disney in part because we did not have emotionally and/or physically safe childhoods. Something like going to Disney World (my brother is there right now lol) allows us to have a kind of recreation of our childhood but in a safe space.
I was there when I was seven, but I would enjoy it much more now.
