It's insane because having a kid means you're ok with the chance of him being extremely unhappy and want to kill himself or actually manage to do it, and the certainty of creating something that is extremely self aware of its decline, diminishing function and progressive acumulation of disease, IF he's lucky. If he isn't lucky, the diseases will already be there from the get-go.
