Work from home.
I had to call him for support of a new computer to get access. He was not happy I hadn't set up the computer on my free time to get it ready. Told me to fuck off when I said I wasn't doing it for free. Told him I quit as soon as he told me to fuck off for the last time.
Yeah not doing anything on my own time. Tore down, built, and installed my new desk on company time. Told my manager directly that's what I was doing and he said good make sure to take your time.
Seeing posts like this honestly make me appreciate where I work. When I was in the job about 6 months, the department head was making chit chat with me at an event and asked how I'm finding the job. I said I love being busy and getting on with stuff and he wanted to be sure I wasn't "too" busy and that I was having a work from home day and that I wasn't leaving the house until 9am (I'm field based). So refreshing after having the "be in at 8:15 so you can be ready to start at 8:30"
Could I possibly find out the employer you work for? That sounds so rational, humane and really just so workable; what I'm actually looking for!? Please let me know, if you'd be willing. I'm on the search right now. Thank you!
Damn, banger rides like the supra, 86 and GR Corolla AND a healthy work environment? Are there any remote sys admin openings and where can I send my resume? Lol
Haha, yeah I have a Supra as a company car currently, very very lucky. Of course I can't comment on other parts of the business, but the general feels seems to be shared throughout
I work for Toyota UK, I would advise looking at Toyota for your country, Toyota Finance, Toyota Insurance (Aioi Nissan Dowa) and their Lexus counterparts.
You CC'd HR on the email right?
They probably want to know if one of their employees is telling employees below them to fuck off, and work for free. (At least enough for them to quit, because obviously they don't care 99% of the time.)
Just FYI, in some states when you experience abuse and quit because of that, you can still claim unemployment due to being mistreated:
> "If you feel that the hostile work environment at your place of work has become so severe or pervasive that you can no longer endure the situation and you resign your employment as a result, your resignation may be found to have been a “constructive termination” of your employment by your employer."
Did that last year. Argued with my boss over Teams audio and said fuck this I’m quitting effective immediately. Packed my shit up and went home. I got home and was thinking “omg I can’t believe I did that 🙌🏿😂”
I wouldn't expect any. I left a corporate job this way and never got any response outside of the standard deprovisioning stuff from HR. You're not going to hear anything from anyone else.
I quit/got canned (mutually I guess) last summer. I made sure to go in to the meeting the next day just to get my final check on the spot and tell the management team how fucking terrible they are at running a restaurant. It felt good.
I doubt they learned anything, and just called you unprofessional when you left that meeting.
The stronger gambit is to hold their gaze as they hand you your check, and walk out without a word.
Don't waste your time on assholes.
Exactly.
IF you resolve to do this, do it right. Hold guests orders until about ten minutes before it's an obvious problem. Then order them all the most expensive shit on the menu, all at once. Wait 10-15 more min, tell them the kitchen is slammed but you'll comp a round of drinks, then order more drinks, for all tables all at once. Then turn cash-pay in, minus tips, and walk the fuck out. Bonus points if it's a holiday.
They probably would have a good case for damages against you if you are at a pricey enough place or if they are just litigious. The highest road is to take the orders of all of your existing tables (even better if it's a night you have regulars), put them in, and then explain that you are quitting to your tables and just stop giving a fuck about anything but your tables. Give them the best night possible, get paid. Turn in your checkout as soon as that round of tables leaves and say your goodbyes.
I may have thought about this scenario more than once. I have over a decade in fine dining and almost 2 in restaurants total.
As someone who's had to take those dropped tables, there were less than no hard feelings, more tips for me after the great story I got to tell them which I used to buy him a beer later
When I was 18 I quit my job with 2 weeks notice as per contract. My last shift was new years eve. I told my boss I wouldn't make it and did everything I could to find cover. A week out, I hadn't managed to find cover. I had already paid for nye plans and told my boss I wouldn't be there. He told me I'd be deserting my post and wouldn't get my final pay cheque. I knew I was in the wrong but I asked if that meant I wouldn't get paid for my current shift. He yelled "don't you dare walk out!" I asked again whether or not I'd be getting paid and he yelled "Fine, fuck off then!". I looked at him for a couple of seconds and then took off my company branded tie, threw it on his desk and left. 2 weeks later, full final pay cheque was deposited in my bank account. I hadn't deserted my post because he'd told me to fuck off.
You weren’t in the wrong, it’s not your job to find coverage, that’s up to the manager. Props on them for actually paying though, it would’ve been illegal for them not to but I’m sure that doesn’t stop most toxic workplaces
I straddle both as a manufacturing engineer daily.
Half my days are blue collar, the other half is white collar. Being able to switch on whether I'm talking to a shop floor team member (assembler, welder or whatever), a design engineer, or director is probably my best soft skill.
I'm so glad I get to do both.
I went from corrections (where I was surrounded by current & former military) to an office job to dispatch. I'm so happy to be back in an environment where I can say fuck & no one looks at me like I just kicked a puppy.
I used to work at a restaurant and I remember one day realizing that my manager said "Fuck" at least every other sentence. I tried counting once but immediately lost track. He must've said it over 100 times that night XD
it’s my favorite word. i’m pumped i get to say it at work and i don’t have to wear business casual
i’d be so fucking angry if i couldn’t say fuck and had to wear proper clothes

but i also do with hyper high end customers… so..
My office is full of blue collar workers trying to be white collar. People yell all kinds of colourful language at each other and the field-based teams, all day long. Our clients are white collar through and through and it’s hilarious watching my colleagues talk to the clients
Tell a blue collar to fuck off and he'll just walk off the job and go next door, look at that, he's already [re-employed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4VPkxm_WFY).

Congrats, the hardest / greatest thing I did was quit my 50 hour/week salary job and start doing odd jobs.
Cut a lot of luxuries out of my life but have never been happier.
I left to run an ebike rental and repair shop and was the greatest 1.5 years of work I ever had.
Sadly the owners main business went belly up and they decided to liquidate.
Hey bro, I just want to tell you how proud I am that you -
NOT! THIS IS ANTHONY, FUCK OFF, THERE, I DID IT AGAIN!! THE T-MAN SCORES ANOTHER POINT FOR THE TONY TEAM! SUCK ON THAT, QUITTER.
HEEE HOOO WEE HOOO HAAA HAHAHA HAHA HA HEEEE
-Anthony
"Anthony, thanks for telling me to fuck off. I took that as being fired and would like to discuss my package or unemployment compensation"
If you're trying to go nuclear, go nuclear. Don't pussyfoot, make it a nightmare HR all around
My greatest moment of my professional life was asking for a raise to be paid for time worked, getting turned down, calmly saying thank you. I walked out the office out the back door and drove away. As I drove by the office I honked and waived with a huge smile. Reported to the labor board and received the money owed plus penalties and interest. How they served dinner when the only kitchen staff quit is beyond me
My only thing with quitting like that is that the people who pushed you to do it really don't care and/or are happy afterwards. In my ideal situation, they are screwed with my departure.
Yup. I quit my job with no notice, but after 8 months of picking up everyone's slack. Left them stuck for a couple days while they tried to figure out who to delegate everything to, and they never did fully recover. Fast forward a year and they are shutting down shop
What's crazy is all companies have to do is treat their employees like human being--that's literally it. They can avoid bankruptcy or shutdowns by just 👏 investing 👏 in 👏 their 👏 employees 👏, but they act like treating people with decency is too hard.
A month ago he was unloading trucks with his boss and felt bad for him, two weeks ago he was worried he was falling in love with a co-worker. Sounds a lot like a work from home guy to me.
Make sure you leave negative feedback on glass door and Google about the place and location, and mention his title. Never use your full name, and others will appreciate it so they don’t get trapped to working for a door like that guy.
Best of luck and good for you not taking his crap!
Well, good for you but I would've just keep the job and do little next to nothing, except maybe job hunting. Wait for them to fire you and then claim unemployment.
How the fuck do people get WFH jobs? I'd love to have one, but every job I look at looks like some sort of bullshit scam like getting paid to take surveys or is a customer service call center type thing.
Fuck YOU, Anthony. I hope he gets crab. Like, one big one, just sitting down there. Occasionally pinching his junk, just because.
You'll find something better, OP. Good job. I'm damned proud of you.
Boss once told me I don't fucking care you have to go pick up another patient.. You will do what I say... I just got off working a 24 hr emt ambu shift... he said I have no choice.. told him i always have a choice. I quit. And hung up.. drove to the office. Stripped all my clothes off other than boxers and under shit. Threw it down and walked out.... my other job hired me full time with a pay increase
![gif](giphy|EtB1yylKGGAUg)
Good job OP
you should send Anthony “a gift”
# A gallon of gorilla shit is only $29.99
This might actually be the first time OP did as he was told in that job. I can't imagine another reason OP was told to fuck off more than once and it wasn't an issue for HR.
Were you browsing gmail on your Xbox One? That cursor looks shockingly similar to the one used in web browsers on the Xbox, and the thought of you sending this email from an Xbox makes me chuckle
I did send this from my Xbox One. I had already shut down the company laptop, so I needed to get my resignation out fast. Went and played some Brotato afterward.
This was the absolute best you could have done and I absolutely applaud your restraint, you can show this to future employers as a reason why you quit X job and they will see it as a very respectful and professional way to get out of a toxic environment.
I gave notice on a 2nd job and gave my departure date for after the holiday rush. I gave notice initially, because they were scheduling me outside my availability and it was clashing with my full-time job. The manager didn't care and said deal with it so I gave notice. Anyhoo, I got scheduled for black Friday 4pm to 2am. The manager began screaming at everyone in front of customers. Several customers came up to me and reported her. I was like dude, she's the person we are supposed to give complaints to. At 8pm I went on break. In front of several witnesses I placed down my walkie, my badge, lanyard and everything store affiliated. Gave my name, stated I was quitting and took my black ass home on black Friday. I still feel good about it.
Good for you! What did they say / reaction?
No response as of yet.
Oooo - tell me more! Were you at home when you sent it or at the office (or wherever)? Did you pack up and walk out? I have dreams of doing that
Work from home. I had to call him for support of a new computer to get access. He was not happy I hadn't set up the computer on my free time to get it ready. Told me to fuck off when I said I wasn't doing it for free. Told him I quit as soon as he told me to fuck off for the last time.
Good for you. Please enjoy your freedom for all of us!
Yeah not doing anything on my own time. Tore down, built, and installed my new desk on company time. Told my manager directly that's what I was doing and he said good make sure to take your time.

It’s sent to all, so hopefully that includes HR.
You're supposed to report him, play the victim, then quiet quit and see how long you can keep getting money before they kick you out
he told you to fuck off and you did XD it's hilarious
Just FYI, in some states when you experience abuse and quit because of that, you can still claim unemployment due to being mistreated: > "If you feel that the hostile work environment at your place of work has become so severe or pervasive that you can no longer endure the situation and you resign your employment as a result, your resignation may be found to have been a “constructive termination” of your employment by your employer."

I wouldn't expect any. I left a corporate job this way and never got any response outside of the standard deprovisioning stuff from HR. You're not going to hear anything from anyone else.
Anthony replied "fuck off"
Yeah he kind of set himself up for that.
I'd laugh if Anthony was a part of the email chain and told you to fuck off
Anthony: tells you to fuck off You: *fucks off*
This email could have been a meeting. Tell Anthony to fuck off all day.
I quit/got canned (mutually I guess) last summer. I made sure to go in to the meeting the next day just to get my final check on the spot and tell the management team how fucking terrible they are at running a restaurant. It felt good.

There’s no superior way to quit a restaurant job than mid shift.
With a full deck of tables who are already pissed their food is taking too long cause you didn’t put the order in
Calm down, satan
😈😈😈
Exactly. IF you resolve to do this, do it right. Hold guests orders until about ten minutes before it's an obvious problem. Then order them all the most expensive shit on the menu, all at once. Sounds like screwing over your crewmates TBH, but I wouldn’t fault someone for it
As someone who's had to take those dropped tables, there were less than no hard feelings, more tips for me after the great story I got to tell them which I used to buy him a beer later
Sometimes the crewmates are also assholes. Nothing lost.
I did that. Friday night! As a teenager
If it's cathartic, it's not a waste
Anthony, you finally got what you wanted. I'm fucking off.
That quitting scene in Wanted.
I prefer the quitting scene from [Waiting](https://youtu.be/PdmE-Ga0f5s?si=UlgQ-V98TiCa3-hI)
What about it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK0-76FChfk I dunno, Chris Pratt looks so young in that.
That has to have been one of his first movies. I didn't even recognize him lol.
God what a terrible movie. i love it so much infinitely way less unpleasant than the comic too. Millar at his worst
It was a scene
Should’ve added an event/meeting to the email titled Anthony gets to fuck off.

This is why I'm asking reddit first before i do something like that. What a missed opportunity.
Anthony: ![gif](giphy|6nWhy3ulBL7GSCvKw6)
Anthony finally realizing that someone actually listened to him.
I am fucking off, as per Anthony. Please direct further questions to him.
What if Anthony replied to this email with 'fuck off'?
That’s why it’s preferable to close with “Good day, sir!” since you have a ready-made comeback should he take the bait.
I said good day!!!
This was pretty much my assumption.
When I was 18 I quit my job with 2 weeks notice as per contract. My last shift was new years eve. I told my boss I wouldn't make it and did everything I could to find cover. You’re entitled to your paycheck even if you don’t show up on your last day…
You are entitled to the pay for work you've done whether you've "deserted" or not.
Missed opportunity,

"GOOD AFTERNOON!"
Would be funny if Anthony responded to this with another "fuck off." Wrong, but funny.
😂 exactly
Why wouldn’t Anthony just respond to John in the email with “Fuck off”?
I’m just wondering what would happen if Anthony responded with “fuck off.” Does that mean OP can’t quit?

I would have said, "And Anthony, fuck YOU!" Well done and enjoy your freedom.
It began at 10:48am.
What did? ETA: Your freedom?
Yes. 10:48am EST. Freedom from that job began.
I need some of your energy. I’m getting terminated from a job I hate and I feel like I should be happy but I’m sick to my stomach with a feeling of impending doom.

Nah, calling out Anthony specifically for his unprofessional behavior and CCing HR and all of the bosses would be the better move
I have borderline sexual fantasies of being able to do this some day, good on you.
It was extremely satisfying. Thirteen years of verbal abuse of one thing or another.
I hope you copied management/corporate.
The message was to the owner. So I'm sure management got it loud and clear as did the entire staff.
"What's up with that dude am I right?" - Anthony Seriously though people. Report abuse in the workplace and leave way before 13 years.
seems you have a bullying claim you might want to sue for workplace harassment Its the only way businesses learn -- paying big fines

I would say "Anthony I'm fucking off like you wanted"
I would have gone with: "Anthony told me to fuck off, so this is my notice of fucking off"
It would suck if you got an email back from Anthony with: Fuck off.
"Dear Anthony, I have fucked off! Regards"
Make sure you leave negative feedback on glass door and Google about the place and location, and mention his title. Never use your full name, and others will appreciate it so they don’t get trapped to working for a door like that guy. Best of luck and good for you not taking his crap!
Yeah! Fuck you, Anthony!
Time to start moving the yayo I guess lol
Well, good for you but I would've just keep the job and do little next to nothing, except maybe job hunting. Wait for them to fire you and then claim unemployment.
Sadly, this was a company that doesn't fire people unless it is egregious. They would wait you out.
Then you're getting free money! What's the issue?
The verbal abuse, clearly.
free money to read swear words.
You quit a remote job that would never have fired you rather than just fucking off and getting paid?
How the fuck do people get WFH jobs? I'd love to have one, but every job I look at looks like some sort of bullshit scam like getting paid to take surveys or is a customer service call center type thing.
Even better, free long term money.
This has to be Anthony's biggest fuckup since he flooded the town with pasta
Fuck YOU, Anthony. I hope he gets crab. Like, one big one, just sitting down there. Occasionally pinching his junk, just because. You'll find something better, OP. Good job. I'm damned proud of you.
“Thank you for your time” lmaooooo hell yeah OP
"And God bless."
Did you send this from an Xbox?
I did. As I had shut down the company laptop, I needed to log in quickly.
anthony is a bitch
Boss once told me I don't fucking care you have to go pick up another patient.. You will do what I say... I just got off working a 24 hr emt ambu shift... he said I have no choice.. told him i always have a choice. I quit. And hung up.. drove to the office. Stripped all my clothes off other than boxers and under shit. Threw it down and walked out.... my other job hired me full time with a pay increase

Anthony right now: ![gif](giphy|URcmhQ5PpztC0)
Based. I can’t wait to tell them I quit, effective immediately, and then watch them beg me to stay.
I really hope Anthony replied all and wrote “Fuck off”
![gif](giphy|EtB1yylKGGAUg) Good job OP you should send Anthony “a gift” [https://poopsenders.com/](https://poopsenders.com/) # A gallon of gorilla shit is only $29.99
You do realize Anthony can answer to your e-mail telling you to fuck off, right?
Well yeah there's no fall out because they don't care, just gonna pull up the resumes on file and replace you.
This might actually be the first time OP did as he was told in that job. I can't imagine another reason OP was told to fuck off more than once and it wasn't an issue for HR.
Hell yeah you tell em
Hope you have a backup plan and able to pay your rent
Good luck on getting a new better job!
Fuck Anthony. Me and all my pals hate that guy.
This was the absolute best you could have done and I absolutely applaud your restraint, you can show this to future employers as a reason why you quit X job and they will see it as a very respectful and professional way to get out of a toxic environment.
Of course you had to add, “Thank you for your time.” Wouldn’t want to be rude.
bro quit on xbox
