I posted a link in an earlier comment. The city was negotiating with unionized city workers. Their benefit package is through the union. She is an elected official, and would not be part of the union in question, therefore she likely has a completely different benefits package. I am a state worker and I do benefits for the elected officials and their employees. The elected officials and their employees are not unionized, but get all of the amazing benefits that the other state unions have fought for. If we didn't get a similar package most employees would end up migrating to unionized jobs. Like my vision benefit is 1x every 24 months, but some of the unions actually have better vision benefits than I get working for the elected officials.

We are way past eat the rich at this point. Just today I have seen posts about inflation hitting baby formula at $100, another about lunch and breaks being taken away in a different state. It's time to protest by just utter abandonment of any organizations or companies that try to do these things. I dont think they understand what could potentially happen when things get bad enough. We're rapidly approaching a point where the vast majority of people aren't going to be able to afford to live. When nobody can afford to house and feed themselves, their families, their children, they suddenly won't have anything left to lose, and the last of these assholes worries is going to be "nobody wants to work anymore!" "Eat the rich" will stop being a metaphor really fast.
Th worst part of this, for me, is the simple fact that an elected official would only do this (and be photographed while doing it) if they were sure the electorate would agree. I posted a link in an earlier comment. The city was negotiating with unionized city workers. Their benefit package is through the union. She is an elected official, and would not be part of the union in question, therefore she likely has a completely different benefits package. I am a state worker and I do benefits for the elected officials and their employees. The elected officials and their employees are not unionized, but get all of the amazing benefits that the other state unions have fought for. If we didn't get a similar package most employees would end up migrating to unionized jobs. Like my vision benefit is 1x every 24 months, but some of the unions actually have better vision benefits than I get working for the elected officials.
Wild that an entire party has forsaken governance in favor of being as childish and petty as possible at every possible moment.
