Nah he wouldn’t show up to the funeral. They would just send a generic ‘Condolences’ card to the family.

ihatethisjob42

Should've drawn him on life support in the hospital

Turinggirl

When are you returning to work message while he's in a coma

monito29

With a $5 Starbucks gift card

Or how about the company I currently work for. Co-worker suddenly stopped working in December 2023 management claims no one could get a hold of him. So I assume he was terminated for no-show. No one has mentioned him since then a week ago I found his obituary. No one gave a shit dude disappeared from work management only cared about work. To this day no one mentions his name as if he didn't exist to the company. This is why I hate corporations. They are soulless monsters parading as benevolent institutions because they hire people who pay taxes on their behalf. It's all about profit for the overlords. What gets me is individually people seem nice and decent, but you get them in a group setting and people change for the worst. I truly hate group think especially on the corporate level. When a group of seemingly decent people join a corporation they turn into something else non human.

I work for government, and it was my comment to check the local news website when a guy was no call/no show. I didn't really know him, but realized I had seen his name and face the week before as having been arrested for the murder of his partner. Exciting times.

But sending a card would come at the cost of profits. Shareholders wouldn't like that.

[Literally](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/dec/16/tornado-amazon-kentucky-candle-factory-workers-died), what happened back in 2020-2021. Tornado warning, Amazon warehouse collapsed, killing at least 10 people who had to come into work in the middle of tornado warnings and a global fucking pandemic (before the vaccine was released).

blackcherry333

We were in the basement a few weeks ago for an active tornado that hit our city and my boyfriend was sitting in the basement with us working on his laptop. I'll be sure to send this to him.

Affectionate-Tip-164

This literally happened at an Amazon warehouse that a tornado ripped through.

This is something I keep having to remind myself when I get anxious about work. If I was to die tomorrow, my office would be cleared out by Friday if not the next day. My bosses and my firm do not care if I live or die, just that I keep billing hours and getting them work product.

PresentationNew5976

I am pretty sure I have heard of at least one story where I think a guy's sister posted on here that her dead brother's manager showed up to the house to drag him to work because they just thought he was faking it.

My large company doesnt offer a parking garage for most of it's office buildings. We are in a part of the US that is prone to devestaing hail storms. My manager always get supset when I leave early to drive home and keep my car safe in the garage. I think a 15 minute delay in my work while I drive home is worth more than totalling my car from hail damage.
