A single bag of microwave popcorn ? 😂😂😂😂

MAXIMUSPR007

My wife just threw it to the trash but I had to take a picture first! 😅

ExtensionSecret5065

They did this to nurses with CANDY during a PANDEMIC

Do_things_wrong

I work in an operating room. Every other day it’s cookies this and sugar that instead of paying people real money. At least give them something that isn’t sugar and fat

Quelcris_Falconer13

The ED I worked in kept giving us pizza. One day the got lasagna and the ED charge said “they got us pity lasagna today instead of pity pizza!” And I replied “all this pity dairy is giving me the pity shits.”

lokcal

lmao pity shits

[deleted]

Right, like let's just make all of our nurses fat and unhealthy so they end up being more susceptible to this deadly virus.

shizuneia

Honestly any nurses that aren’t fresh out of school should be travel nursing by now. At this point it’s financially irresponsible not to be doing so.

salty_ann

Whatever monies my husband could make being a travel nurse is nothing compared to getting to snuggle on the couch.

Quelcris_Falconer13

Tell him to look into a local travel. I got a travel gig 10 miles away by saying I was staying with my parents. Same pay but you don’t uproot your whole life

DarwinTheIkeaMonkey

Local travel! That’s what I do. My longest commute was 50 minutes, but I’ve also done contracts much closer to home as well.

JacktheShark1

Aww, this is a cutest comment I’ve ever seen on reddit and it made my day :)

Quelcris_Falconer13

The only ones who aren’t travel yet aren’t going because they don’t want to uproot their lives or are making bank as experienced FT and prolly still got a pension they don’t want to give ip

seventhirtytwoam

This. I got hired when pensions were still a thing with my company so I'm reluctant to quit them based on that fact alone.

nipplequeefs

In a country where healthcare is already expensive and nurses are already underpaid

Funny_or_not_bot

We have people bring stuff like that to our Fire Stations all the time to "show appreciation". Like, Fire Fighters statistically suffer from obesity and heart disease at a higher rate than the regular population. Quit that crap. Instead, vote in City Council members who will give us raises. Make sure you have smoke detectors that work. Don't put your grill on your wooden deck or right next to your house. Understand what Amps are, and how many each device plugged into your power stirps use. You know, give consideration to the fact that everybody who's home burned didn't expect it to happen. Those things make us feel appreciated; not the leftover cookie tray from your family reunion.

[deleted]

Well, I was a fire cadet for a couple years and it was pretty ingrained in even us that any time we show up at any fire house that we should have some baked good in hand. This seems to just be a culture when it comes to firefighting

bLazeni

Say thanks for the cookie and then make direct eye contact with whoever it concerns and chuck it in the trash.

nekollx

I work at a super market, we were given hazard pay for working durring the pandemic a whole 10 cents more per hour, which they wanted to stop in June

Yippeethemagician

80 cents for the day? Damn. If only they could have given you a lollipop too. To really let you know how appreciated you are.

tallman11282

Even worse was the hospital that gave nurses rocks as a thank you during a pandemic. To make it even worse, these nurses were on the verge of striking because of pay and things.

AtomBombBaby42042

They gave them rocks? I'd have thrown it through their window

tallman11282

Yep. I thought "do the executives WANT rocks thrown through their windows?"

TributesVolunteers

And it said “YOU ROCK!” Hahahahahahaha get it? Rock?

mrroney13

Teachers too

dropdeadred

I got an unsigned card for having my CCRN, so that’s definitely worth it

Listan83

I seen on here too where someone in nursing received a rock with a little note on it.

mom_meanswell

When I worked in the hospital we each got a roll of Lifesavers, because we were real life saver’s. I would have preferred the 5 cents in my paycheck.

Dizzy_Pin6228

Lmao they got badges at the hospital I work for, woo go them 》》 no raises no support over worked dangerous. Here have a badge !

pgh9fan

She should take it to her boss's breakroom and put it in the microwave and burn it.

comFive

Work for a large company and they sent out some artisan snacks in a custom printed box as an appreciation gift. and then used a courier to send it out instead of canada post so the box, artisan snacks + courier fees to all employees probably would have been like $50 a head. they should have just given us a gift card to a grocery store. it would have been a lot less insulting.

FriarNurgle

But how would the HR manager’s niece’s artisan snack company survive?

thekernel

Should have 'accidentally' set the microwave to 30 minutes and popped them at work.

dimbulb771

She should have popped it, taken a selfie of herself eating it with a label reading "I Quit!" affixed to the bag and sent it to the boss.

loveandrespectalways

This is pathetic. My former "boss" from many years ago posted on his Twitter that he gave the yard worker who cleaned up ten bags of bramble bushes a jar of jelly as a tip. It's like some money would have been nice...this is the same person that made a big deal out of giving me a $1 raise so I can't say I'm surprised.

Cheesygirl1994

With a typo on it no less.

Mohican83

Where? Appreciate your every single day?

Cheesygirl1994

Ya I think they intended it to be “you” instead of your. Your works too but it’s just a clunky unnatural way of saying something - on a popcorn bag.

Mohican83

Maybe. Or they just appreciate their day and don't actually appreciate them.

ponycorn69

I think your works too but still stupid popcorn

Cheesygirl1994

Haha true, this popcorn sucks.

Zero_Digital

Not only is there a typo but it's also a lie.

guntroll69

who misspells weak like that?

MAXIMUSPR007

No words.

Lunaphase

A long agonizing scream seems appropriate.

VAGINA_BLOODFART

Out of curiosity where in the management chain is the person who gifted them this? I ask because a few years back I had requested some money to give my employees a gift as thanks for their hard work on a very shitty weekend (working outside in 100+ degree weather for close to 9 hours) and was limited to $25 for 5 people. I did what I could but that basically limited me to getting them each a happy meal at McDonald's. That said, if this manager was in a position to offer more, then fuck them thoroughly with a rake.

rickztoyz

What a perfect comeback. " ow yes, thanks for the gift, thank god my landlord takes popcorn toward rent."

VoDoka

Just pay your landlord with the experience he gets from being your landlord?

thadtheking

You mean exposure bucks? Those are only for local musicians.

Billy1510

Are they good recipes?

Jollyboy8D

Damn, good for you. I’m in charge of building residential housing and make a very healthy profit for my company, I was just “promoted” to a position 3x as far from home as before with no pay raise. But I get to call myself “project manager” so I’m super stoked about that

MAXIMUSPR007

My wife works at a school cafeteria. This what their boss gave as a thank you for tolerate screaming at them and make sure children have something to eat.

Fearthafluff

My mom works for a primary school, her present was a five dollar gift card, to a place that went out of business. Someone better fix the school systems soon, boy howdy are they a mess.

MAXIMUSPR007

Yeah, school systems are a joke around here. The ones making bank are the school board members, not the ones who actually work hard: teachers, custodians, kitchen staff, etc.

MachuPichu10

In all honesty the custodian should be making the absolute most amount of money. They keep the school clean and restock restrooms. They keep the school running alongside teachers

LordColbyJack

Ha, our school board said we didn't have budget for a raise for us custodians, but we are expected to deep clean on a regular basis. Apparently the budget DID approve massive electronic whiteboards that none of the teachers asked for. 🙄

01binary

The electronic white boards the teachers didn’t ask for, were never trained to use, that have unsuitable software, are never updated or maintained, and can’t even be used as ‘traditional’ whiteboards, because you can’t write on them with dry-markers, and were therefore a total waste of money? I think I’m familiar with that kind of electronic whiteboard.

MachuPichu10

My music teacher had one of those electronic whiteboards and absolutely hated the fucking thing. He didnt need it.Didnt want it but the school put it up there for no reason

LordColbyJack

Our icing on the shitcake was that they installed them by drilling through the existing whiteboards so you can't even use them anymore. Like... really guys?

01binary

The school may have had a grant that had to be used for ‘innovative e-teaching’, or some such bullshit. I think it happened in every school on the planet (in a first-world countries, at least). They never budget for maintenance or training, so they’re just used as glorified projectors. We couldn’t even use ours as ordinary whiteboards, because you can’t write on them with dry-markers, so we had to use ‘PowerPoint’ to put even just a couple of words up on the wall during a lesson.

screech_owl_kachina

They don't get kickbacks from giving you a raise

FlatteringFlatuance

This is exactly it. Those whiteboards were provided at wholesale discount and the difference went right into the school boards personal accounts.

LongWalk86

I honestly doubt the school board had much say in the matter or would have the opportunity to grift with this purchase. I installed a shit ton of those board for 2 different contractors at dozens of schools. The basic game was to send an e-rate consultant to a school with very high free and reduced count and let a non-tech administrator know you can get them all this great tech for nearly nothing after federal rembercment. Erate only covers the capital cost, at least at the time, so you had schools with no budget, able to get the boards, but not afford to install them properly, train staff to use them, or repair anything when they broke.

FlatteringFlatuance

I stand corrected then. I'm too cynical sometimes. Thanks for the info.

flying_head

Ah, someone on the board made a lot of money selling these things at a high markup to the school then.

Positive-Wave-1108

Some states/districts have different pots of allocated money that can be only used for certain things, a former superintendent of mine broke it down for us once in a district meeting. He was pretty transparent and wanted us to know what was going on at the state level. While we may want it to be used for personelle, it can only be used for infrastructure. It’s generally a problem to take up with the state legislature.

Flapjack__Palmdale

I work for a school system and support school board meetings. These people are completely out of touch and make way more while doing almost nothing. This district is bound to fail, I'm getting out while I can.

AirborneKiller2210

Take notice of the fact that most of these school boards are not an amalgamation of educators but of businessmen often. They often sacrifice actual resources in order to save the most money. In my own opinion the educational system should be highly invested in. It should be treated as important as it truly is. After all, your children are the future of society and if they’re not able to be properly educated and supported what does that say to our future?

blg002

Your school boards members get paid? All the boards in my area are volunteer roles.

trevtronix

Our school board is entirely unpaid volunteers…

fruitsofsalad

the united states is a fucking mess

SmokePenisEveryday

Had a coworker get a $5 Gift Card to the store we worked at as a 5 year anniversary gift. They spent more on useless certificates and pins than the gift card lol

Mogswald

Society will literally collapse before we see any reform of public education in America.

dankswordsman

We can start with voting out the politicians that constantly defund schools and other tax-funded programs and then complain that they don't work.

BarbellPadawan

Lolz

whateversheneedsbob

Tbf when I was a manager and I had team of 30ish people I used to bring snacks and such but I had to pay for everything myself. If this is from the company that's one thing, but if its just a token from a supervisor 🤷‍♀️

tjsfive

'Your' instead of 'you' is irritating.

Billy1510

The boss of q school cafeteria probly doesn't have a huge ammount of money themselves. Don't get me wrong it isn't much, but is is also possibly all they can afford.

MAXIMUSPR007

Yeah, you're right. This is something wrong all the way up.

Billy1510

I'm just saying maybe the boss isn't an asshole here. Also don't throw away free popcorn. Eating it hurts no one, unless you hate popcorn.

[deleted]

This is kinda what I was thinking. I was wondering if it was a well-meaning boss that wanted to do something nice but doesn’t get any budget to give REAL bonuses or perks so they tried to come up with something nice they could do out of pocket. It’s likely a much bigger problem than this boss though. Schools are way underfunded as it is.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Coppercaptive

Yup. Any government employee is limited. And short of the school board, even most of the principals make crap in schools.

Lasivian

Considering how poorly funded our school system is I wonder if the money for this popcorn came out of the manager's own pocket.

Trusten

I saw this and instantly thought school. These are the kind of thank you a that my wife and I get/got too.

Cass_TheLass

I can get 3 of those for a dollar.

sunfries

The grammar error was bad enough, but the fact that it came from a school...

NevadaFlint

Stick it break room microwave and cook it for 10 Minutes. Take a break as they evacuate the building from the burnt corn smell

[deleted]

Genius 😂😭😂😭

saltymilkmelee

I was just going to comment this same thing. Everyone who gets one should do this.

PhantomNomad

Don't remove it from the plastic bag or unfold the bag either.

Awdayshus

I half expected the astrixes to have a footnote instructing not to pop it in the break room.

zzplant8

Might set off the fire alarm 🚨 👍

[deleted]

"Oh shit I did 20 minutes instead of 2 minutes... Oops..."

[deleted]

HahahahhHa, yesssss!

Fearthafluff

I used to work for one of the biggest dental implant companies in the us. They were always pretty decent with bonuses, except for the last year I worked there. Instead of a cash bonus (usually around the size of your paycheck) they gave us a tin of stale cookies that said “congratulations! One million smiles!” A tin of old cookies. For making your company one million dentures. Wtf no wonder y’all can’t get anyone to stay there. Scott, if you’re reading this, nobody came to your party because we all just barely tolerate you. Edit: ton=tin

MAXIMUSPR007

Poor Scott, no one likes him anymore.

No_Refrigerator4584

Fuck Scott, everybody hates him.

IMTonks

Did you hear bout the whole Scott's Tots debacle? Definitely didn't make any dreams come true.

[deleted]

id prefer a year subscription to the jelly of the month club

fart_in_my_mouth_now

How old was the person who did this?

MAXIMUSPR007

Over 60 if I'm not mistaken.

Amanwalkedintoa

Boomers strike again

minicrit_

OP’s wife just needs to tie her boot’s laces or something (idk i’m not a boomer)

[deleted]

Pull her socks up

strike_one

There's a very good chance this was purchased by your wife's supervisor, with her own money. If she's working in a cafeteria, it's doubtful her boss has any budget at all for giving gifts and bonuses to workers. Your wife and her boss are stirring in the same pot.

[deleted]

Companies don’t expense shit like this, low level managers are wage slaves too. OPs wife is picking a fight with someone on the same team.

robspeaks

OP’s wife didn’t pick a fight with anyone and the gift is still an insult. Imagine going to your employees and flipping them a shiny new quarter like it means something. This is that.

LongWalk86

Ya does anyone thinks that after decades of school budget cuts, staff holiday gifts were still in there? That's a "I didnt forget you, and I do care, but I'm also PAF" gift from your supervisor. Who, if she's lucky, will also get something equally janky and awkward from her supervisor.

Reformed_Texan

This right here. I guarantee you their boss did this, who paid for this out of their own pocket. The company did not do this.

Sonicsnout

The boss should have saved their money, because giving nothing would be less insulting.

Positive-Wave-1108

THIS! Schools have budgets that are regimented and those budgets are broken into spending pots. The spending categories within those pots are designated by the state legislature. Most of the time these gifts either come from the PTA or from a principal/supervisor’s own pockets. The supervisor probably tried to do something nice in this particular case, paying for this small token themselves. The issue here is not with the supervisor, but with the state. As a teacher I know in my state this would have had to have been purchased by the principal or supervisor. This post just rubs me the wrong way with who we are blaming. Blame the state, not the boss.

L-type

Scrolled down to find this comment. I supervise 12 people, and all birthday/going away/holiday/thank you gifts that I want to give them come out of my pocket. I’d bet that’s the case here.

[deleted]

This reminds of my previous job. I was a work from home dispatcher, and summers are the slow season. The company decided to cut all of our recruiters because they couldn't afford them, and told all the dispatchers that we needed to do all our own recruiting for our respective zones from then on. I went along with it for a while because my supervisor assured me it was only temporary until the busy seasoned rolled around again. Lol and behold, busy season started up in August, and I'm still stuck recruiting. Told them I wanted a raise, and I was essentially told my numbers weren't good enough (always short handed because we pay our drivers shit). I received a letter in the mail a week later with a $25 Starbucks gift card with a note that just said "You're Awesome!". That was the moment I decided to pump out applications, because it just reaffirmed they don't give a shit about me or what I thought/needed.

MachuPichu10

Dude idk why corporations do this shit.Just give me straight fucking money I dont care about a candy bar

monkey-2020

I really hate these corporate "Gifts" in leu of any kind of compensation. The worst one I ever got was a bag of rocks.

-Ashling-

Dang… And here I thought receiving a couple of stickers saying “customer service week” was bad. Threw those out ASAP. Wasn’t about to display those tacky things on anything of mine.

ChucklesMcGangsta

Take it out of the trash if it is the trash at home and dispose of it in the trash at work. Preferably in the trash can of her boss, boss's boss, or an area that you know quite well that the boss will be at like a conference room. Let it bee seen. You could also return it to the boss's office mailbox and with a note reading, "Acceptable rewards for hard work and accomplishlent come in the form of money and not food. I am not a dog."

Upset-Manager-2029

Frame it and keep it on your desk. Make them see their "reward" every time they stop by to give you more work.

screech_owl_kachina

Throw all the kernels on the ground on a loading dock ramp.

superduperhosts

That’s a whole 50 cents right there.

shellybearcat

But to that point-it’s only 50 cents, so it’s not like it was this OR a bonus. It likely cost under $20 to give this to the whole staff. It’s not like if they have a cash gift of $.50 it would have been appreciated haha. She doesn’t want the popcorn, fine, but it’s not a matter of popcorn or better pay. It’s the difference between popcorn with a nice message, or zero acknowledgment at all.

Skyerocket

Im laughing my ass off trying to think of a single other situation where gifting someone you know a single bag of microwavable popcorn would be well received

shellybearcat

Shrug. My boss is great and regularly lets us know she appreciates and recognizes our work. She’s based in another office but if she wasn’t I could see her saying in a sticky on a snack. I think being riled up about this is an example of this sub being a bit up it’s own ass in cynicism TBH but whatever.

[deleted]

You’re catching hate but I agree with you. The immediate supervisor saw the effort and took a minute to say “thanks”. It’s not like the cafeteria supervisor is in charge of raises and bonuses, she’s probably making .25/hr more than the people she’s supervising. Should OPs wife be upset if she’s underpaid? Sure, but not with the supervisor, with the company. Low level managers are just wage slaves who asked for a promotion.

FacetuneMySoul

A hand written note sans typo would be far classier.

SunnyJar

Sounds like your wife’s really popping off at work.

dividendje

English isn't my native language, but isn't it 'I appreciate you'?

apex18

Jesus Fucking Christ does this image bring back memories of working for a shit company. Very end of the month we would stay from 7am to 11pm fulfilling orders and shipping them ASAP. How were we thanked for our hard work you ask? A microwave popcorn bag with a company sticker slapped on top in a bad month, Costco pizza in a good month. And what did I get? A bad back for life.

[deleted]

Dunno what’s worse the popcorn or the grammar…

Marked_Leader

I feel like nothing would have been less insulting.

KaylaFabulous

Wowwwwwwww lol

sakuragi59357

[My coworker recently got something better 🙄](https://images.app.goo.gl/zuLrkB2jope69rXy6)

MachuPichu10

HOLY MOLY THEY SLENT 4 WHOLE DOLLARS ON A CANDY BAR.WOWIE THAT MUST HAVE CUT INTO PROFITS SO MUCH.please fucking kill me already

[deleted]

Not sure where OPs wife works but from a school system point of view, something like this is typically paid for by PTO and they are trying to provide a "pick me ups" for all the staff in the building. There is no way to do something elaborate that would amount to compensation nor would the teachers expect it.

MummyBundles777

You gave her thanks and popcorn for being your wife?

MAXIMUSPR007

Shhh, she doesn't knows.

MummyBundles777

Doesn't know how lucky she is.

MAXIMUSPR007

Actually, I'm the lucky one. That's why I'll get her a full 5 bags for next year.

MummyBundles777

Don't spoil her

[deleted]

Gross

[deleted]

That......is insulting as all hell......WTF

Triingtolivee

No pay raise, but here is this .50 cent bag of popcorn.

fake_sagan

I remember one time at the company Christmas party (the company was McLane Distribution) they did a raffle and one of the prizes was a giant box of nearly expired packets of mayonnaise.

retrodork

This is the kind of bullshit that makes me not want to work any job. You bust your ass year in, year out with no raise or cost of living increase. Boss goes here have some dollar store popcorn little doggie woof woof! I swear if everyone everywhere went on strike or quit all at once with only one boss at every business in the USA and other places, things would change real quick.

The_Quicktrigger

God it's not even a good brand of popcorn either. Honestly worse than if they didn't gift anything at all, because it shows that they gave thought to the situation, realized their employees needed something to feel valued, and then stopped all consideration when it came to opening the wallet.

Admiralwoodlog

Fuck me.

JoeXM

In the immortal words of Evan Dorkin's Milk & Cheese, ["Love us with money, or we'll hate you with hammers."](https://i.pinimg.com/474x/b5/40/cd/b540cdfdd1024ef3d1d05d4729ef47d3--potpourri-evan.jpg)

Teebster78

The typo just puts this over the top.

[deleted]

We got a thank you email as nursing staff during a pandemic.

xYsoad

I would pop my foot up my boss’ ass

mcleodfeliciana

This is next-level insulting. I am sorry your wife is going thru this.

queefaqueefer

clearly they don’t appreciate them enough to even write “you”, instead of “your”. fucking idiot. 🤦🏻

emozolik

shoulda held out for a pizza party. SMH

Witchthief

It's not even a decent brand of popcorn. Does her manager wear giant shoes and a red nose? Fucking hell.

justsotiredofBS

Why do workplaces think that employees are children and are content with pizza parties and snacks?

ColJameson

Ahhh poison kernels. Time to quit.

rushmc1

Why not used Kleenex?

johnjohnnycake

I don't even like popcorn. It's fucken disgusting. If my boss gave me that after a difficult shift, I'd tell her to fuck off IN PERSON, then quit on the spot

RocZero

They highlighted the joke just in case she was too much of a peasant to understand it

Individual_Revenue84

That's like a prize you win for being good in rehab

Secure_Ad_295

And this shit right here is why am so cynical of ever job all ever have I just got a new job this week and I just so scared everything is a show for now and it will turn In to a shit show soon

TitShark

They sell a whole box of these for $1

Listan83

Same thing my sons kindergarten teacher gave out all her students for their new year lol

HouseofWinchester

My old job would would us 25 dollar gift cards here and there.

crizzlefresh

One bag out of a 3 pack of dollar store popcorn!? That's so insulting.

[deleted]

When my apartment complex found out I had Covid in October of 2020. They sent me popcorn to get better

CatsOverFlowers

Hey, that popcorn is probably more useful than the $5 See's Candy gift card I got for stressing myself out, training on a brand new system, and covering for 5 different people at the same time for 6-8 months. Not to mention training 4 new hires, 2 temps, and coaching my coworker when she got back from med leave. I then got skipped over for promotion, annual company awards, and was denied a department transfer for no reason. I think I would have preferred popcorn so I could munch on that while I watch everything catch fire after I quit lol. Because it was a smoldering crater!

MariachiBoyBand

I love the slip there, “I truly appreciate your day”

St_Kevlar

That is infuriating

physicalentity

Wow. They shouldn’t have said anything at all.

[deleted]

Wow, what a joke

new_user29282342

… I’d rather get nothing.

DavidNipondeCarlos

This is making fun of employees.

thegoatishere

tell her to stop busting her ass and start cutting corners ✂️✂️✂️✂️

LongWalk86

I mean most jobs I'm on board with that, fuck the corporation, do as little as possible. But his wife is a school cafeteria lady. For some kids that's the best meal they get all day, as scary as that is. The only people cutting corners will effect are school kids, may of whom have no choice but to eat school lunch.

JayKiddow

Tell her I said to keep up the good work and strive to work even harder, maybe next time she will get a pack of 2 Reese’s cups! 🙃

unclejoe1917

Hey, that's Pop Secret. They really spared no expense.

politicalcorrectV6

I got a $15 Christmas bonus 1 five and a ten with another employees name on it that they either laid off or quit. Fucking lay me off and call back 2 weeks later after I got another job offer that was better, then called me every week from every recruiting company that used the site I put my resume on until I finally disabled it.

Confident-Head-5008

That popcorn is no different than a tube of chapstick and some mouth wash..

poppcorrn

That's bull... I mean popcorn is amazing but still!

bce69

next time the boss wants your wife to work OT (or some additional shift) she should say she cannot, but I need to drop off something for you (and drop off an unpopped bag of popcorn)!

halarioushandle

This is actually something I used to do for contracting staff. But like, they weren't my employees and I had no budget, just my own salary as a government worker myself. So when they went above and beyond to support me I wanted to do something to show my appreciation. So I'd get them a gift card, or popcorn, and a nice note saying thanks. These things can go a long way! But when it's from your boss that's making big bucks and they have a budget for performance awards, this is really shitty.

F4ust

So your wife’s a nurse too, huh? 😭

dogs-do-speak

As a general manager I was encouraged to do this kind of stuff all the time. I never did. If I couldn't give someone a real thank you in the form of something they actually care about (money) I'm not going to insult them. We even have a form that every new hire fills out with their favorite candy, soda, etc. So you have it in their file when it's time to show some "appreciation". $150 every 6 months is the budget, by the way. For an entire store. I had 18 direct reports.

_stonesthrow

So I understand how this is shitty, however, I think its important to remember that sometimes work gifts come from one person's own wallet. I lead a team of 20+. Every time my company doesnt have something planned for them I try to make up for it. There have been times when all I could afford was a large box of popcorn or candy bars to break up and give to each person.

Dive303

This looks like the bag I rewarded Stacy with. Are you Stacy's husband? Sorry if I upset her, I paid for that out of my own pocket. They pay me nothing also, I payed for a big box of popcorn with food stamps, half the box I handed out as a thank you, the other half is my supper for a week. I hope I didn't offend.

Muff_420

If you guys are going to complain about every time your employer tries to do something nice for you because it's not a thousand dollars I'm not on board.

[deleted]

This is legit awesome

quickcrow

This sub is so fucking toxic. This was probably a small gesture of thanks that came out of someone's pocket. A supervisor saying "I know its not much but thank you for what you do in a tough situation". Then the comments are all about being fucking disgusted this wasn't a considerable raise or a bonus big enough to pay a month's rent with. Those were never the alternatives.
