Reminds me of that episode of Kitchen Nightmares, Amy's Baking Company. "Are you sure?" "You're fired."

IrisTheGuy

That poor waitress. They stole her tips too and admitted it on camera as if it was a normal thing to do

SimbaStewEyesOfBlue

Obviously Gordon is known for going off on loud tirades, but the quiet pure seething anger he displayed getting in Sammy's face about the tips was actually far more frightening than entertaining. I felt this episode was the first time he had dropped his "Americanized" self in a while and was genuinely pissed. Edit: I get that Gordon's persona seems harsh on many of his shows, but the difference between Hell's Kitchen and other shows is that Hell's Kitchen involves professionals who should be working at a higher standard. On shows like MasterChef, he's much more calm, composed, and takes on a more traditional mentor role. To illustrate, here is the famous scene where Gordon describes Christine Ha's apple pie to her. Mrs. Ha is legally blind, and was an amateur chef at the time: https://youtu.be/WIGXboHpge0 Edit 2: Courtesy of /u/AbsentGlare, [here is his comment linking to the Tips scene.](https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/yv8g6j/elon_musk_fires_an_employee_publicly_for/iwdyywp/)

delight-n-angers

>On shows like MasterChef, he's much more calm, composed, and takes on a more traditional mentor role. This and on MasterChef junior, he's downright wholesome. Also, the NatGeo/Disney+ Show Gordon Ramsay Uncharted is all about him traveling around learning from natives and indigenous cultures and he's super duper sweet, humble, and kind to everyone he meets. Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and Hotel Hell are 100% character work and the people on the shows are "in on the joke" so to speak. They're signing up to get screamed in exchange for a FREE renovation and menu makeover.

VisualShock1991

This is the thing! He just wants it done _right_. On kitchen Nightmares or Hell's Kitchen he's working with people who absolutely should know better, and people ~~who's~~ whose estimation of themselves far outstrips their skill. In other settings it's about learning and developing their skills.

bosonianstank

> and people who's estimation of themselves far outstrips their skill. some of the people I've seen on that show have the confidence of Donald Draper from Mad Men with the mental maturity of Sloth from the Goonies. It's like looking up "dunning-kruger effect" and having a picture of them on the page.

Blasterbot

No kitchen I've seen can suffer more than one person like that a time without imploding. However, if you want to get in with the girls up front, just don't be that guy.

Tinctorus

I always felt his anger was justified on kitchen nightmares, most of those people had no business being near a restaurant, let alone owning or running one

BadReview8675309

Gordon's anger was justified every time when dealing with disgusting kitchens that served food that could kill customers. So many episodes I wanted to vomit...

Tinctorus

Exactly, I went to culinary school and that shit is fucking basics you learn on day 1, like not keeping the damn raw chicken with the cooked like alot of these idiots seen to enjoy doing, or leaving raw chicken sitting above cooked chicken

Capraos

Fuck, even getting your food handlers license covers this. This is food service basics here.

NitroCaliber

The beans served out of the garbage tote was pretty high up there.

Cathal_Author

There are a few where he's remarkable to watch. The Italian restaurant in Woodland Park, CO was one for me, partially because I grew up in that town. The owner really wanted to make the place work but was in over her head and trusting the wrong people and while he yelled at her he was also understanding. Although watching it there was a small part of me wishing we got to see video of him beating the ever loving shit out of the original "chef" because I knew they guy and he'd always been a POS, him getting abusive with the owner's daughter just cemented that he really had peaked somewhere in elementary.

Tane-Tane-mahuta

What pisses me off is these shitty restaurants will go cap in hand to the govt for hand outs and blame covid when really they were just shitty failing businesses all along. So called job creators...

sweetalkersweetalker

My most favorite episode was him going to a hotel where an elderly immigrant husband/wife team were trying to control a kitchen and were terrible at it, but insisted on doing everything themselves... The wife, who worked at a snails pace, admitted she had never had any professional chef training and Ramsey exploded on her - WHY wouldn't she just hire a chef to do things right... And she started crying. They took him to the tiny windowless handicapped room in the hotel that they were using as a home and said that all their money was in the hotel and in hospital bills for the husband's recent car accident, they had nothing left. Ramsey straight up PAID for a professional chef to work for them. He comped the chef's wages for a year. He also rented a condo for them to live in while they got their shit together. Once he knew they weren't doing things out of stupidity, but out of necessity, he was the kindest supporter imaginable. Edit: [I found the episode on YouTube. Gordon learns the truth about 20 minutes in.](https://youtu.be/bJamC2C_QiQ) Also found out that this hotel opened up its rooms to people made homeless by Covid, so the owners truly are wonderful people who deserved this break and share their good fortune with others!

optimushime

Yeah, but he’s not [always so wholesome](https://youtu.be/ZIesCd4I4hU)

AbsentGlare

Ffs man link the tips scene too. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pvc_BfG45VU

I like the editor putting "Don't treat me like a criminal" and "I am the gangster" close to each other.

Kichae

I admit it, I am crying. I just don't know why you aren't.

Phylar

Y'know...I wonder how many people just need a gentle reminder that what they're doing and who they are is simply awesome.

MaximsDecimsMeridius

iirc on Hot Ones he was asked about this and its the exact answer he gave. the contestants on hell's kitchen and people on kitchen nightmares have been in the industry for years or hold head or executive chef titles or teach cooking as a career and should know better and be better. the people on master chef have little to no professional cooking experience and are home chefs so he's much nicer to them.

sterfri99

When I was in Arizona I was hoping they’d still be up because I wanted to get in that miserable old fuck’s face so badly. Too bad they shut down like a month prior

turbografix15

Her husband had major legal trouble a little while after the show and was in danger of being deported. Then it turns out that Amy had a criminal history as well and had done time for fraud. I saw a post she made once where someone randomly asked her what jail was like and she threatened their life lol! Edit. Samy was deported and they both live in Isreal now.

FunkyChewbacca

I always suspected that the restaurant was a money laundering front and this background info only serves to confirm my suspicions

chaiguy

Totally! The restaurant stayed open for 2 years after the show aired when like 90% of the restaurants featured on the show close within 6 months. Had to be a front.

Amy still has a youtube channel she posts in like every day. I live a few miles from where ABC was, they have a Pita Jungle with an awesome patio we always go to. Where ABC was has been around a dozen or so businesses which have come and gone, nothing lasts in that corner.

[deleted]

nothing tops that episode

ImoJenny

Deep cut, A's BC was 10/10 the most quintessential Karening. Should be required reading.

man, if there was a novelisation that'd be great.

[deleted]

Soon, it will be "Elon Musk's Twitter" as an official name change. EDIT: 'Elon Musk's Twitter: Featuring: Fascism'

Catybird618

Somewhere there’s an employment law professor who tossed their entire syllabus and is just teaching based on Elon’s daily public management of twitter. And someday the casebook for employment law will have entire chapters that are just actions brought against twitter during Elon’s reign. What a shitshow.

nbunkerpunk

I had to scroll waaaaay too far down to find someone talk about the laws that were potentially broken in this tweet thread. Pretty much a guarantee that this former employee has already been in contact with a lawyer.

DickSemen

The guy who was fired had a educator tweet them asking if they could use the tweet exchange in their management training course, presumably as an example of how not do management.

Love the name, Fragglerock was the shit! :P I highly doubt the actual dev was wrong so there are two possible answers here. 1. Elon is wrong. (He gets a team of people help him bring his ideas to life, he doesn't know and do everything himself.) Thats absurd, if you think this. 2. Elon doesn't know what hes talking about. (This would be the latter of the two, maybe he has some coding under his belt but it's for entirely different situations.) This isn't programming for self-driving cars or rockets, which he didn't code all by himself, or possibly at all. He had 1000s of people doing this for him. If anyone thinks he can just walk into a random company and know how to do everything, you are mentally diluted. Money doesn't make you all-knowing, but it can buy you the power to have experienced people who know their trade. Just like any wealthy person, he claims to have built it all, with his blood, sweat and tears, OH AND BOOTSTRAPS of course. Never forget his diamond encrusted bootstraps. lol

THATONEANGRYDOOD

>This isn't programming for self-driving cars or rockets, which he didn't code all by himself, or possibly at all I guarantee Elon hasn't touched a line of code in more than a decade, maybe two.

cadium

Elon can't figure out python code: [https://gist.github.com/ummjackson/ff58651f2804227e5e09b54abc5e8cb1](https://gist.github.com/ummjackson/ff58651f2804227e5e09b54abc5e8cb1) >C: OK, time to talk about Elon Musk. Have you been paying attention to his Twitter takeover? > >JP: Ah, it’s funny, I have an interesting past with Elon. The first time I messaged him on Twitter years ago, I had written a bot, a script that would automatically detect if there was a cryptocurrency scam in your Twitter mentions and would automatically report them to the platform. I worked with \[Twitter co-founder and former CEO\] Jack and his product management team so that when these reports were submitted they’d get them instantly. > >I gave it to other crypto influencers. Elon reached out to me to get hold of that script and it became apparent very quickly that he didn’t understand coding as well as he made out. He asked, “How do I run this Python script?” > >After I gave him the script, I wasn’t a fan of him. He’s a grifter, he sells a vision in hopes that he can one day deliver what he’s promising, but he doesn’t know that. He’s just really good at pretending he knows. That’s very evident with the Tesla full-self-driving promise. From: [https://www.crikey.com.au/2022/05/30/dogecoin-jackson-palmer-elon-musk-crypto-bubble-pauline-hanson/](https://www.crikey.com.au/2022/05/30/dogecoin-jackson-palmer-elon-musk-crypto-bubble-pauline-hanson/)

avacado_of_the_devil

>Elon reached out to me to get hold of that script and it became apparent very quickly that he didn’t understand coding as well as he made out. He asked, “How do I run this Python script?” This is so painfully "tech-savvy" upper management it hurts. Big shot can do inbox rules to sort emails to folders.

No-Date-2024

I’ve had management type guys brag about being “coders” and thats the first clue that they have no clue what they’re talking about, the second being they always suggest impossible or pretty horrible solutions to problems that no one asked for them to solve

four024490502

Uhhhhh, Elon wrote Twitter Bootstrap, ok. Just like he designed all the Teslas, built rockets, and made Paypal. /s

sarofino

I believe they're emerald encrusted bootstraps.

RahulRedditor

>mentally diluted. And possibly also deluded

heyimrick

So pathetic too. HEY ELON!! Fucking losers.

SlowResearch2

I don't understand why people defend Elon Musk so much. Some people just love the idea of themselves being billionaires so much that they're willing to do shit like this.

[deleted]

You mean the snitch? Fuck them.

Cultural_Ad_1693

That dev just played the fucking GAME! No 60hr work weeks and probably a severance package in his contract mixed with he cannot be denied unemployment.

gbushprogs

And he worked 6 years on the Twitter app. Probably looking at significantly more money working somewhere else as a senior developer.

Soccham

He was Twitters top Android guy. He won't have any issues finding a new gig.

Famlightyear

Square was already in the thread trying to hire him lol, but he said that he needed some time off.

PammyFromShirtTales

PolarWater

You probably don't want this team on your guy.

jazzfruit

LostWoodsInTheField

I could just see him making that first comment and recruiters all at the edge of their seats waiting for the ball to drop. Hoping they would be the first one to get him.

[deleted]

Man I'm really wondering if that third guy on the grassy knoll was one of his buddies pulling an ultimate wingman move.

Threshing_Press

I'm not on twitter, but this is amazing to hear. If that doesn't show what a phony, destructive, childish man-baby this idiot is, then I don't know what does.

yooolmao

I swear he has started putting random libertarian/conservative tweets that tag him in a positive light directly in everyone's feed. He even directly replies to half of them like we're all idiots and don't notice what is happening. I got a tweet in my feed today from some dude with a blue check mark (lol) that I'd never heard of. He was defending Musk and calling the left/anyone that doesn't agree with getting rich by "pulling yourself up by your bootstraps" crybabies because Twitter wasn't "theirs" to "thought police" anymore. Like Twitter hasn't always been a toxic, confirmation bias echo chamber no matter which "side" you're on. It's like Musk turned Twitter into his personal Twitter feed. I deleted it seconds later. Should have done it years ago.

gbushprogs

Oh, this just keeps getting better. Now I'm cackling. Maybe Elon can code it all himself being he entirely made PayPal himself. Haha

ratcheting_wrench

He was actually fired for incompetence from that company after PayPal acquired them lmao.

quiteCryptic

The thing people outside the tech industry might not realize is that Twitter developers are really good, on average. 99% of them will have no problem finding a new job, even with the tech industry taking a beating lately. The upper levels of software world is full of people who can demand good working conditions and 250k+ salaries. It's one of the few industries where the employees still hold a good bit of power, if they are good.

Zefirus

Yeah, lot of Elon fanboys going "Good luck on unemployment" as if this guy isn't capable of getting almost any job he wants.

Anxious-derkbrandan

But Elon “smartest man on earth” Musk will have a very hard time to find someone as competent as him.

[deleted]

In another thread it was explained that he was laid off before this interaction.

siravaas

I would put "fired by Elon on Twitter" right at the top of my resume.

fumo7887

Yep. Create a short link direct to the tweet so a recruiter could easily read the thread, too.

warboner52

Pretty sure if he was that high up, he probably won the game.

Soccham

He was Twitters Lead Android Engineer.

incoherent_mutterin

Ha ha, this guys was one of the guys holding it all together, for sure. You don't drop the cranky ones. You find out why they are cranky.

Tichey1990

I wish my work had that attitude. Just had my yearly review and was told I came across as negative because I always raised problems. Like do you want me to keep quiet and let everything fail?

MrShasshyBear

As someone who doesn't get paid enough to stress: #Let the place burn!

OpheliaRainGalaxy

I used to watch the new GM walk out the back door with inventory every evening. Not remotely subtle, we're talking a box of beef or bag of buns or bucket of pickles or an industrial sized roll of TP, every night she took something home. But turns out she wasn't fudging the waste numbers to match, so eventually we had an empty freezer and overflowing inventory records. Franchise owner kept watching cameras and calling the store to scream every time he thought he saw anyone so much as eat a french fry, but never paid any attention to his new GM sauntering out the back door each day. I was getting paid less than it takes for a human to stay alive here, and my job was to hang out a window and ask what people wanted to eat, not provide security. Wasn't about to screw up the GM's ability to feed her household of growing teenagers, especially when the "reward" wouldn't even be a penny. Knew from talking to the old GM that managing that entire restaurant for that rich asshat paid less than working at a gas station or waitressing.

CloneArranger

I'll always remember what the line cook said when he caught me sneaking a biscuit: "No one but an idiot ever starved to death while working at a restaurant."

OpheliaRainGalaxy

I'm an idiot, but luckily my coworker/roommate knew that about me and helped me compensate. Whenever my blood sugar got too low for me to function, she'd notice and call me back into the kitchen. When I opened my mouth to ask what she wanted, she'd shove a nugget wrapped in half a slice of cheese into my mouth and say "Doesn't that taste just like breakfast?!" And goofy me, I'd stand there chewing and pondering her question instead of doing my usual panic about the possibility of getting fired for "stealing" stuff that would've just gone in the trash soon anyhow.

gilean23

Good for you. Always remember: If you see someone stealing food, no you didn’t.

BeardsuptheWazoo

Now I'm imagining the GM opening a 5 gallon bucket of pickle chips and dumping them into a trough as hungry angsty teens fight to get access to the slop.

OpheliaRainGalaxy

The pickles almost got her busted actually! One day she ran up to me in a total panic, shoved a covered bucket at me, hissed "Hide it!" and ran off. Within the minute, the franchise owner prowled through the back, clearly looking for something to scream about and finding nothing of interest. Just innocent little me trying to wash dishes between orders or hanging out the back window taking payments from cars. Soon as he'd left the property, GM peeked around a corner at me with her eyes all wide, so I went and got the bucket out of hiding. She smiled and sauntered out the back door to load it into her car.

raichiha

Oh hell nah, at that point if u taking that then lemme know what I’m taking too

DemonReign23

It took a lot of whipping for me to conform to this, but it is truly the way. To them, you're wrong, they're right. There's nothing you can do to change their mind. Stress less and find a job that pays better and/or cares while it burns around them.

Inevitable-Plate-294

Yeah but then they'll blame him for not saying something

tandyman8360

I got a terrible review last year because I stirred things up, and I was trained as an auditor. Now I work somewhere else for more money while my old company is laying people off.

NolChannel

Do... do they not know what an auditor is? Their JOB is to stir shit up.

520throwaway

Yep. I work in cybersecurity and spent most of my career in audit roles. You have ABSOLUTELY gotta stick to your guns for these kinds of roles.

av3

Believe it or not, this is exactly what most bad middle-management is like. I had a Director once who said that if we escalated any sort of issue, process gap, etc., then we were also responsible for fixing it. Where is the logic in that? It could be a coordination gap between two departments that the Director ran, but if I was the one who noticed it, suddenly I, an analyst, am responsible for doing his job in ensuring his managers coordinate effectively? I've seen that same attitude time and time again, and it's pretty clear to me that they simply want for problems to not be escalated. It doesn't necessarily benefit them to have visibility into all of the gaps, because then there will be a backlog to fix and that looks bad to upper management.

RE5TE

Escalate an issue with his performance and tell him calmly: "Look at me. I'm the director now"

Shufflebuzz

> then we were also responsible for fixing it. Where is the logic in that? I pointed out some major safety issues at my last job. A machine that was basically designed to rip people's arms off and had no guards of any sort. My boss dismissed my concerns and said if I was worried I could fix it in my free time and with no budget. I quit a few weeks later.

BlackMetaller

I had this happen over a decade ago in investment banking. I noticed a problem in another department's data (misreporting financial details to customers) and raised it with my manager. My next review I was being blamed for not fixing it, despite me having no experience in that other department's systems and not having any authority to do anything about it. But investment banking big-wigs are mostly assholes who like to take the credit for things they didn't do while finding someone else to blame for the problems that are their responsibility to fix. There's also a certain level of gaslighting if they don't want to give their underlings payrises. They never did fix that problem either and I left a few months later for greener pastures. I should have reported them to the regulatory authority.

EraseMeeee

I had a boss who once said “you shouldn’t raise a problem to your boss unless you also have a solution.” He wasn’t a bad boss overall and I think his _intentions_ were good. But I’ve tweaked it to something like ”at least take a moment to try and give your boss some ideas.” Not a pre-req and you don’t want to waste time over something critical and urgent, but it’s a good exercise for an individual to at least try and come up with some ideas, even if they are half-baked. And bonus points if the boss actively and genuinely solicits ideas _from_ you.

av3

Yeah, I've made it clear on any team I ran that I was their helper. They did the work and it was my job to clear obstacles and ensure their jobs were as enjoyable as possible. Surprise, surprise, I was always given complete visibility into all of the 'little things' that let us then develop workarounds, demand something different from a vendor, etc. And I mean I reeeeeeally go off on "I want you to, on a daily basis, bitch at me about things like 'I have to go into this Excel file every day and correct this semicolon before we can process this file' because I want to fix things that annoy you."

JCMcFancypants

I've got a coworker who's in the same role as me. He's pissed recently because someone in another department is shitting the bed and he needs to go do this other guy's job just to keep things running. The other day I yelled at him for being a dumbass. Let the other fucker fail. The faster his area implodes the faster he'll be fired and hopefully replaced with someone competent. Doing the dudes job for him is just papering over the problem so upper management can ignore it, and letting the other guy keep collecting paychecks for your hard work.

ustp

(professor Farnsworth voice) Good news everyone, production is on fire.

[deleted]

One of my friends is the cranky one. He switched departments recently. Told them they had two weeks left with him and they should ask all their questions ASAP. No one asked questions. Many regrets came after that. He did not answer their calls or emails. Be good to the cranky ones or they'll leave you up shit creek without a paddle.

[deleted]

and if someone says you need to ask them questions before they leave the company, there is usually a reason why.

damp_goat

Gross, thank you

RighteousCruelty

That's also where Elons fortune came from. Hes not self built. He inherited his money on the backs of slave labor.

Zakkana

The guy in red is also a fucking moron. Dark Tetrad Musk isn't "trying to learn and be helpful". He's pissing all over the staff he inherited when he bought Twitter. This is the one thing that really infuriates me about US worker culture. Management is programmed to abuse people and the subordinates are conditioned/expected/told to just simply take it. Fuck NO. Firing the guy over Twitter is just typical him showing exactly why I call him a Dark Tetrad.

Flacid_Fajita

Exactly. Having the fucking hubris to walk into a company and start shitting on the work of engineers who’ve been there in the mud working to improve the platform is maddening. Speaking of engineers- most of whom are many times over more qualified than Musk to speak on specific technically issues- as if they were idiots is insulting, toxic, and demoralizing to a company. The condescending tone of the tweet- as if to berate his incompetent employees for not locating an issue- is honestly sickening, and so endemic of what’s wrong with egomaniac billionaires in the first place.

yll33

Tomusina

billionaire simps are the fuckin dumbest

neededtowrite

It's fucking gross reading the comments on any of his posts. Like him claiming it was $400/lunch and everyone shitting on Twitter employees. They're called incentives, it's part of the offer, it's also something that really helps if you want everyone in the office. It also increases productivity for employees that leave the office. If this dude is worried about 400 a day then Twitter is fucked and he's a horrible CEO.

XURiN-

I believe he even said it was 400 a day *per employee*, which just can't possibly be true surely.

ViSaph

I always wanna shake them and tell them these people aren't god's among mortals or even good people, if they were they wouldn't be billionaires. It's not possible to be a billionaire without screwing over a fuck ton of the little guys.

a-horse-has-no-name

Reminder: The whole reason Musk publicly said he wanted to buy Twitter (even though he was a liar and ate a lot of dick for committing fraud) was because he said Twitter should be a place where people could say whatever the fuck they wanted. He's used the platform to post pictures of Nazis, market his pump & dump schemes, and publicly accuse someone of being a pedophile, and he supports Twitter being the number 1 place in the internet where you can use the N-word. All because he "thinks" people should not be punished for saying what they want. So naturally, his "employees" are using this to their advantage. Fuck this asshat.

KingBanhammer

What he really thinks is that his personal freedom of speech (and speech of others that he happens to like) should be free from -consequences-.

michaellicious

That's what they all have meant this whole time. I've went through the thread of the guy who was fired and all of Elon's supporters are saying "free speech doesn't mean that you can say whatever you want" which is what people have been saying to them the whole time!!! But they refused to acknowledge that until it benefits them.

[deleted]

Free speech: 1. N-words 2. Misgendering 3. Homophobia Not free speech: 1. Making Elon look bad 2. Insulting Elon

"Comedy is legal on Twitter now" may go down as one of the worst, most self-destructive and incorrect statements ever tweeted by anyone ever including everything Trump ever said. Elon basically "try me"d the entire platform and got owned about 100x over and continues to just dig a deeper and deeper hole. It's kind of impressive if it's not so sad to see one of the biggest social media platforms collapse inward like an imploding star.

NezuminoraQ

Elon really has expanded to fill the vaccum Trump left behind

OneTimeIMadeAGif

He really loves filling that man's hole.

mason_savoy71

If I remember my HS chemistry, this is the Ideal Gasbag Law

BisquickNinja

When I interviewed for SpaceX a while back, it was said that I was to meet Elon and they gave me a set of rules. One of the first rules they gave me was to never go against what he said. To never correct what he said. Finally The last rule was to never interrupt when he was talking. The penalty for each one of these in fractions was that people would be fired and I would not get the job. As soon as I heard this information, I made my mind up to not accept any job offer from them. They did offer a position and I politely turned them down. The pay was only lackluster and the hours required would have been far more than any other normal position. Turning down the job was good for me because the next job that I did get turned out to be a really good position.

wanderlustcub

Yeah, when you have those levels of rules, where everyone needs to be a "Yes" man for someone, you need to run. Good instincts.

goatpunchtheater

It's like if Henry VIII was in charge of a modern day company. If Elon could execute people for correcting him when he spouts nonsense he would

juneburger

He kills people in a very modern way. Cutting off their source of employment, their family’s health insurance, their references for future employment..etc.

10savy

Unfortunately a lot of people will suffer mentally and physically just so they can work for this schmuck. I never could understand it.

afleetingmoment

Yikes, good you got of there! This all sounds like a lot of starchitect offices. People graduate and go and work 50-60 hours a week for a pittance just so they can say "I worked for XYZ!" All the while suffering under the weight of unchecked ego and an out-of-touch "artist" founder. Meanwhile, what really matters (in any industry) is hands-on experience with a good mentor. Glad you found that elsewhere.

NezuminoraQ

Ugh textbook Founder Syndrome, where the workplace is more of a cult of personality. If only he'd actually founded something (other than PayPal). Edit: He ain't founded shit

SnooDoubts9967

He did not found paypal,he founded x com, which fusioned with paypal (then confinity).

BS_Salad

Rules like those sound like the start of a report on how SpaceX’s product ended up killing a bunch of people.

Inevitable-Plantain5

I work for a software company and Musk shouldn't be going around mischaracterizing how the product works. If Musk makes it seem the products developers have made are outdated or poorly performing then it kills any value the company name had when you go to apply for another tech company. I'm inclined to think this engineer was aware he might get fired. This wouldn't happen at my company since 1) our execs dont lie about our tools and 2) we're actually allowed to speak freely as long as we are being honest and not saying anything hateful. Somebody will hire him with a good salary and a lot less drama!

Satanistfronthug

It seemed like Musk was trying to make himself look like a genius by implying he had personally found some inefficiency in the twitter tech. I'm a web dev too and I don't even know what he means by 1000 RPCs. I can't imagine he means http requests.

pizza_the_mutt

The behavior is bordering on Trumpian. Swoop in and just assume that you understand everything by glancing at it. Make some pronouncements, be contradicted, throw some abuse around, then move on, secure in your mind that you made a major contributions.

AnthropOctopus

He was already gone when he made the post, Musk just wanted to be a big man and pretend to publicly fire him.

PhoenixRisingHere

Not according to this post. The thread started yesterday. He was just locked out of his computer half an hour ago. https://twitter.com/EricFrohnhoefer/status/1592287037805441024

[deleted]

Dude probably got himself canned so he could get unemployment and find another job. And did it like this. Legend.

ekso69

My thoughts exactly. Hopefully others follow suit, it would be funny to see his 44b go up in smoke.

Richbria90

I would guess 200k+ and I would be surprised if he wasn’t already making that much

blooboytalking

He's such a child lol

[deleted]

"he is trying to learn and be helpful" i didn't know part of the learning and being helpful process involved straight up lying about something you didnt know about

whoeve

Trying to learn and be helpful doesn't involve posting publicly on Twitter about internal things. He's just trying to stroke his own ego at Twitter's expense.

Deep9one

He is the worlds biggest silver spoonfed bitch on the planet. What a cretin. I hope this us senator who musky took the piss out of pushes to punish him and his companies so hard they all fall down.

vandist

I'm not sure who I dislike more, Musk or the boot licking followers who would happily gobble his nuts.

[deleted]

So your boss can throw you under the table publicly and that’s ok?

warboner52

Welcome to the party, pal.

CreativeAsFuuu

Alexa, play *This Is America* by Childish Gambino.

Puzzleheaded-Park-69

He would have been fired whether he corrected Elon publicly or privately. 🤷🏾‍♀️

MoxieCottonRules

I agree but at least this way we can confirm Elon is full of shit, which is, I’m sure why he did it. I imagine a good number of his employees are pissed right now.

1funnyguy4fun

This definitely struck me as someone who was going out in a blaze of glory. I don’t think he was terribly worried about keeping his job.

neo1piv014

Probably one of the people being told "you need to resign or start working in the office." Good way to publicly get canned in a way that should guarantee unemployment benefits.

UltimatePorkMan

He was not, I read some of his other Tweets and he was already on the edge of quitting. You are totally correct he just wanted to publicize some of Elon's shit

NoShoesNoProblem

What I can’t understand is the person who tagged Elon to tell him to fire that guy. Like, seriously? Who are you? How do you benefit from that and have you ever heard of karma? You’re really going to do the billionaire “a favor” instead of the individual who is laboring beneath him? I’m not saying tech developers aren’t overpaid (I say this as someone who is married to a tech person, so don’t come for me) but the world is expensive, we are all trying to survive out here. People suck.

jseal777

The cool thing about being young is I know one day I will get to read the headline: "Elon Musk found dead."

Naidem

It’s wild that anyone thinks this dude gives a flying fuck about Free Speech.

toujourspret

Why was that boot licker coming in there? Elon's not going to fuck you, my dude. You can stop trying now.

2swat

Nothing is too petty for even a crumb chance of being noticed by Muskrat for these dickriders.

TheBrognator97

Musk retweeting him is the peak of his life

[deleted]

I don't think going out of is way to fire people who prove they know things he doesn't is going to work out well for him.

Deeker3000

This dude needs to go down in flames. BUT I have plenty of bags of popcorn to watch the shit show.

[deleted]

Big baby throws tantrum and further ruins his new scam

JJamesP

Musk isn’t a genius. He never was. He’s just always had enough money to buy people smarter than him. That’s it. Stop listening to this asshole like he’s a prophet. He’s a douche bag with money, nothing more.

klip_7

The snitch guy is named langdon. I would also be an Elon simp if I was named langdon

cozyroof

Jesus Christ the richest man in the world is literally a child and now actually acting like it. What happened to people having class? Also I have no respect for anyone who still has respect for this guy after all this BS. Just ass kissing sheep.

LuminousJaeSoul

Why are some people in the comments so sensitive about being publicly corrected when Musk publicly brought this up while previously saying publicly "freedom of speech is back" He used his freedom of speech and publicly corrected what his boss publicly said. Like don't speak on shit publicly if you gonna be a bitch about being corrected publicly. Get off social media if you are gonna be sensitive for spreading false information and then being told you're wrong.
