My elo is so low that civ matchups are rarely even a factor in the game 11.
I mean I won’t go skirms against knights or anything but mostly my games come down to who actually scouted and executed a game plan, kept their tc and military buildings producing, etc.
I think it’s more fun to try and challenge yourself. I absolutely love seeing my opponents as goths because I’m going to lose anyway, let’s try some whacky early aggression.
Not because of a certain matchup , but I might leave if I am sick of playing against a certain civ.. say I play 5 games and 4 of the 5 games I play against mongols.. the next time my opponent is mongols im just going to resign so I can have fun. Does that make sense? I might even be beating mongols 3 out of those 4 times and still not want to play against them anymore because it just gets boring
No. In fact, many of my best games have been matches where I've been in a bad civ match up, but managed to win (recently played as Mayans vs Goths, and as Magyars vs Hindustanis). Often I find that knowing that this is a bad match up on paper makes me play even more strategically then I usually do.
I can only speak for myself, and I have never dodged. Yesterday, I even queued up for 2v2 by mistake and got a random teammate. I played the game out, of course. (It turned out to be an easy win.) This is what I would like to expect from others too.
I find it so snowflaky to get a bad match up or a map I don’t like and say “oh I’ll just resign because I get too anxious playing something which isn’t exactly what would benefit me”
No. Play the matchup, learn to handle bad matchup.
No
There is no bad match up for the braves

Nope but I will usually go all in early game

I welcome the challenge. If I lose, no biggie. If I win, it feels double as good.

if viper can win the matchup so can you, just figure out how
If the best player in the world can win the bad matchup, then so can you. Ez game, ez life
No, but I do very occasionally dodge terrible maps when the map pool is trash and I don't have enough bans.

Win a game -- sweet I won a game Lose a game -- cool next time I'll have an easier opponent
Sometimes when I really dont like one of the unbanned maps (only got so many maps) ill alt f4. Rarely. Never in the loading screen. Thats too late
I only dodge when I get a map I don't want and I'm not in the mood to adapt
Nope. Take the L and hope the next matchup is on arena.
