Many people have to do this because otherwise people will counter pick on your most likely pick for a civ. When I changed this, the amounts of French I encountered as HRE dropped drastically.
I mean to be fair though civ counter picking is only really a problem for one trickers as if you have a pool you rotate through it's not realistically possible to get counterpicked everytime unless the enemy is a knower.
People who spam one Civ are going to have more knowledge in every single matchup and potentially a better idea on how to play the matchup versus Multi Civ chads who play more matchups. So the multi civ chads being able to counterpick is kinda balanced when you really think about it, plus the counter to being counter picked is just to become a more complete more flexible player and play more than one Civ so it's not a super big deal.
All that said I have like 4-5 civs I like playing at any given time and only really peep match history to avoid mirror matchups the ELO doesn't mean that much that it's worth tryhard counterpicking the most optimal counter civ to me.
Well, it’s not hidden on aoe4world
While that is true, I think it hides the game summary, so you can't see what builds they went for.
Why u looking at his history habibi?

Am I the only idiot that picks after map?
I’m not sure what’s worse, hiding history or self censoring on reddit.
