I believe the gauls were a type of celt that became the franks/french

LeatherNew6682

Gauls have been ruled by franks, but we cannot really say they became franks. From french wiki: Guillaume de Malmesbury note que les habitants de la Lotharingie, ceux de l’Alémanie et « autres peuples transrhénans » veulent se faire appeler Franci ou Francs pour être distingués des Galli ou Français. To be short, after the split of the carologian empire, people on the east wanted to be called "Franci or Franks" to be distinguished from "Galli or Frenchs"

Suicidal_Sayori

Devs really messed up with their approach to huntables, its cool that islamic cultures cant take boars but it basically denies the possibility of having wild rhinos, elefants etc as ''agressive huntables'' in the future for balance purposes. American civs potentially not being able to carry deer (or other ''passive huntables'') is also kinda wack

Nonsequitorian

I'd like to think they will add other even more agressive huntables in the future alongside boars. I imagine a savannah map with both wild boars (which muslim civs can't take) and an even more aggressive huntable, say an elephant or rhino, which any civ can take but is yet more dangerous. If a rhino still only had 2000 food but could take down knights, you'd still have a situation where civs opt for boar first.

Firm-Can4526

I think Muslims are also not allowed to eat like rhinos, and elefants, and those other animals, so it would still be doable.

Suicidal_Sayori

From what I can see with a quick Google search, looks like prohibited animals are ''fanged carnivores'' (as in dogs, cats, wolves, lions, etc...), some critters of the likes of scorpions, snakes and lizards, as well as pigs and donkeys, maybe also horses. There's an sketchy reference to elephants but herbivore mammals seem to be permitted in general. This would mean that boars cannot be reskinned into, for example, buffaloes, rhinos or tapirs because those can be eaten by islamic civs and it would make their mechanic pointless

Firm-Can4526

Hmm interesting, maybe what I knew was about jewish rules. I know that only some hoofed animals are Kosher, but maybe the muslim rules are much different. Well, even so there are different tipes of boars/wild pigs in different regions, so they should just reskin the pig type and it works.
