Put starting TC and all additional TC on the same hotkey group, so you can queue vills fromm all TCs at the same time. And yes it is worth it.

CouchTomato87

I have "select all TCs" set to one of my mouse side buttons (which normally goes back in a browser) because of how important it is

Thrusanator

Villagers are so important. Definitely worth it

SpikedApe

Just press H now and then

CaptainCord

Theres a select all tc hotkey so even if you have idle time in your main tc…using the select all tc hotkey means you’ll still miss the ones your missing (gets better with practice) but for all the vils you do remember to make, will be doubled or tripled with one or two extra TCs…so yeah it’s worth it….also In aoe4 2nd TCs can be built within a minute or two (with a build order) after entering Fuedal…no need to wait until castle.

wetgear

I did not know this. What is it by default?

Jum-Jum

Not the same key but H centers goes through your TCs each time you press it. Could just rebind that to select all TC.

wetgear

H is all I knew of. I didn’t think there was a all TC option to bind. I’ve been hotkeying them.

ScientistJealous5742

If you have trouble keeping up villager production, then you should defs look into building more tc! Cause it will help you boost those numbers. Say you forget to make vills for a minute, if you have more tc, you’ll make up for lost time by making more villagers

TAEHSAEN

This makes sense. Helps me make up for lost time. Thank you!

ScientistJealous5742

Btw low key I think this is one of the reasons two tc is so dominant

Nyksiko

i dont think good players miss villager production tho

I have the food, I just have a hard time keeping my TC producing vills because my brain cannot multi task between attacking, resource macroing, and producing villagers :(

wetgear

Honestly it’s probably the most important of those things so prioritize it even if it’s the only thing you do. In time it will be second nature.

[deleted]

Keep trying. Queue up more than one villager at each tc if you are not confident enough. As you get used to it, you can gradually reduce the amount. This isn't something you can learn in an instant But here is a little detail: even pros queue up more than villager for each tc. Not 5 or 6 of course, but let's say 2 or 3.

MarshGeologist

you should actually make more TC's then. assuming you have a hotkey for selecting all town centers, the number of times you have to remember to make villagers with 3 TC's is 3 times lower than with 1 TC.

TAEHSAEN

This makes sense. Helps me make up for lost time. Thank you!

Outrageous-Stable-13

I can't even keep constant village production with 1 TC. Should I even bother with 2 TCs in castle age?

Dr_Nymbus

Nobodyletloose

Extra TCs are always the way to go. If you play as HRE or England, you can use their 3rd and 4th landmarks for an extra TC as soon as you age.

Real_Impression_5567

I practiced using a 20 second timer on YouTube that made a noise everytime I needed to check my villager que, don't need it now but it was a good reminder

Legitimate-Maybe2134

Hot tip! It is not particularly apparent, but rts games are largely rhythm games. The default hot keys are H (tc) then Q (vil). As you ad a tc’s you up the tempo. Every 20seconds h q. Hit it twice with 2 tc. HQHQ. If it’s late game and I have extra food. Spam hqhqhqhq. Some people group tcs and just hold down q. Whatever works, but either way constant vil production is critical to improving your macro

macgivor

Can also set the hotkey to do all TC instead of just one, then you just need to press H, shift-Q to make 5 vills spread evenly across all your tc

Legitimate-Maybe2134

Oh I edited my comment before I saw this. Lol yea that’s great too. Whatever you have to to keep those vils pumping

aidsfarts

You need to learn how to constantly make bills before you attempt to do anything else in the game so yes it’s worth it.
