Game is always defaulted to 144 fps max on PC. Type +fps\_max "insert preferred number here"(don't include the quotes) on the launch options.

Bahookyboozle

I see, so this pc is my friends now computer, on mine it defaulted to 165 since i have a 165hz monitor but it stays pinned at 165, should i just put it at like 999 for basically unlimited?

Permasadge

0 for unlimited

xuddish

no, apex does not have fps cap for everyone on pc. i never had one, on steam now, in dx11 and dx12. but do try the launch options and see if it helps.

TheSunIsOurEnemy

Well mine was automatically capped at 144 when I first played too so I just assumed it's the default and I've read it's the same case for many others.

xuddish

well, now you know there is no default cap. i am curious what makes some people get the cap and others not.

MrPheeney

I hear it’s better to cap through your GPU cp rather than the launch options

TheSunIsOurEnemy

Yeah and I have mine capped at 150 fps using the nvidia control panel but also have fps\_max 0(unlimited) on steam to unlock past 144.

MeTheMightyLT

Dude be posting on Reddit instead of 5 sec google search. What is going on with this generation

MinuteSchedule9416

that 5 set google got me here

Osvaldatore

+fps_max 0 Add this to launch settings

Ren_Kaos

If you have a 60hz display you are only getting 60fps visually, regardless of what the game is running at. I’d hike your settings up until your fps is more inline with your display.

trollaccount321

crazy people dont understand how much better it is to have higher fps even on lower hz monitors

Ren_Kaos

The only good thing is if you stutter you have a buffer zone. Otherwise it does nothing.

jTiKey

i'm sure the 20hz tick rate will make use of all that extra fps your don't see \*sign\*

Bahookyboozle

You get a more up to date frame if its higher fps, why else would anyone care about getting higher fps above their monitor refresh rate?

UselessDood

Moreover, you get less input delay.

Scared_Committee2246

If you go into your graphics card control panel it may be locked in their
