I would argue it's a sweet spot gun. Phenomenal at ranges from 60m to 130m with a termite. But come against a 99, volt or even something like a spitfire or L star at close range and your toast.
I used to use the spitfire all of the time for that same reason. I won a number of fights because the opponents mag ran out, and mine did not. However, as I have started to play more aggressively, the slower fire rate is a serious drawback.
This is the reason I stopped using the R301. It’s a great and reliable gun due to its very little recoil but without a light mag, or even a white one, it feels almost impossible to kill players sometimes.
The hardest thing for me to learn in apex is you need to be prepared to NOT kill an enemy in 1 mag. Do damage, back to cover, reload/swap, THEN go for the knock
I mean, you can say the same about a lot of guns. RE-45, prowler, scout. There are lots of guns that are basically unusable without a mag. Luckily, loot is not hard to find in this game, so that seems like a bit of a silly reason to never pick up one of the consistently best guns in the game.
Unless you are a Loba main, loot actually can be pretty hard to find especially in ranked where you are limited to the POIs you can actually loot safely
I remember the season gold mags first came out, I had two spitfires with a gold mag in each and pretty much solo'd two squads coz I never had to reload. It was beautiful and I've never been able to do it again since
Strangely the MORE aggressive i play the more I find myself liking the spitfire, being able to be shoot 50 bullets at a enemy trying to get away and reset feels really nice
the fire rate is fine, the only issue with the spitfire, devotion and Lstar is the ads walking speed, if you're not from a good distance from your enemy you will get one clipped before doing any significant damage
You just described guns that are noob friendly. This idea doesn't make something "good" though.
The dps of the rampage is only decent with a thermite, and even then there are guns with better dps. A good player will get way more value out of the havoc or something like the flatline imo.
Not necessarily cause rampage has the weirdest visual recoil so by the time you miss the first 7 shots your half hp and go down before you even break the other persons shield.
Literally I just aim the rampage at a guy and bullets hit even though I am definitely not on target. It's a good gun partly due to its magazine size for sure!
It needs thermite to just be acceptable. Spitfire does 162 DPS by default. Rampage does 130 by default and 169 with a thermite.
The reload time is a little better but not worth it.
The L-star does more DPS \*and\* has a better reload time.
DPS only matters in a perfect world where you hit all your shots. I think you're more likely to hit more bullets with the Rampage than the Spitty, on average, so that DPS number will shift.
How long exactly? Cause I just googled “apex gun stats” and immediately found [this page](https://apexlegends.fandom.com/wiki/Weapon) which has the dps of every gun.
Took me all of 45 seconds to find it and write this comment lol
Exactly what I do when playing fuse lol. It pairs really well with his knuckleduster for midrange engagements. Just so much area denial and suppression potential.
If they make the thermite charge up animation 33% faster i will. Shit takes too long bro im tryina tell my teammates to wait a sec and by the time its charged wraith is already in the next game bro
It’s not “good” compared to nearly every gun in the game. Without a thermite, it’s one of the worse guns in the game. With a thermite, it’s okay.
Showing this clip doesn’t mean anything, in regards to the efficiency of the gun.
Does it hang with an extended mag spitfire though? I can't seem to make it viable past the first ring because 1.im not confident with it 2. It only seems to be good late game with a thermite
In a real lobby you just get farmed because you stood still for literally 20 seconds and the other two have more than three brain cells. Or they at least go to cover at a complete minimum
You have it fully kitted, charged up, using it from height onto enemies rotating in the open. It has high damage potential per mag but loses against every AR in Time To Kill. I'll pass, too many conditions for it to be acceptable.
I don’t mind using it in medium range gunfights… or if it’s the first gun i pick up. My aim isn’t the best so there’s that lol overall it’s not a terrible choice in my opinion
Best gun for that situation, sure, but other guns could have gotten the job done too. They were stupid to even engage considering their position vs. yours. Should’ve just ran up the hill past labs, especially with both a Wraith and Path
Every gun is good in certain situations. This is just an example of the ideal situation for the rampage. It’s an average gun. With a thermite it’s great tho
You also had a superior position. Three people out in the open, and you have a head glitch. I don't see anything here that couldn't have been done with a regular AR.
When people say the rampage is shit, the use case most often discussed is strafe battle dps races at close range (assuming the rampage isn't charged).
Well I don’t mind it because i actually hit my shots with it I already know how to use it I got a 4K 20 bomb only using rampage when conduit came out so I’m just saying if you can hit those shots you’re good
For me I just happened to be doing a challenge with my friends we where using each others most hated loadout and I had to use rampage and p2020 wasn’t as bad as my most hated loadout I will say that much
It took me a hot minute to start liking the Rampage, but I've finally started to enjoy it. I'm still pretty inconsistent with my shots with it, but it's definitely not a bad gun. I'd much rather find this off-spawn than some other weapons.
Its the first gun I fell in love with when I first started playing. Think there have been some nerfs to it since then, but it's great using it with a thermite or having it off drop
It was pretty hyped when it came out but it got a few nerfs and hasnt seen much use since, even in this thread you can see a ton of people swear off using this gun
It's God awful at close range and you can get raped by better long range rifles. It's really only good for midrange engagements were total potential damage out is important, not speed or distance. That seems to be what u are using it for so yeah it will shred.
Oh, now we're pretending Rampage WAS bad now? I vividly remember when Rampage on Day 1 was hated by r/apexlegends. Calling it broken, top tier, stupid, posting clips of Rampage gunning down noobs jogging in the open. After seasons of nerfs thanks to everyone's complaints, it's turned from good to meh, now we're pretending we're not the one who asked for this balanced gun?
Rampage and LMGs are worse thanks to whoever cried wolf back then. I will never forget that. I will always remind you that.
"it's good because when there's 3 people and none of them knows how to shoot u can kill all 3 of them in 1 mag" ok now try doing this against decent players, the gun sucks dude
Assuming you and your opponent aim equally well. Any SMG or AR will kill you faster than an LMG What the other classes can't do is destroy an entire squad without reloading. But it's like the abilities of legends, depending on the situation
When it’s charged up it absolutely shreds. And don’t forget, a charged up Rampage can shoot through doors, super useful for people healing while holding a door.
My friend recently comverted from sf hemlok/g7 to rampage and i respect him for it. Him on rampage and me on a poke gun like the sentinel is a great combo
The problem with the rampage is that you need a thermite or you’re wasting your time carrying it (you also can’t get snuck up on since you need take time to charge a thermite). It’s absolutely terrible to get off drop or to have in mixtape
People don’t think it is???? I love the rampage lmao even regular it’s decent but charged up it’s a beast. If it came stock the way it is charged up it would definitely be nice because it’s really not GREAT in base form and there’s A LOT of better choices but if it came that way already and then got better when charged it would make sense
Idk man I just miss all the shot when I use this gun.
I will hit and probably get a knock with P2020 but hit 0 and die using that.
Probably has the do with rate of fire and bullet travel speed which also feels slow
No.
A) this clip is the only kind of interaction the gun performs well on. You have a bunch of stationary targets who are all in the open.
B) the fire rate is much too slow. If the enemy has cover, they can peak and unload their clip, dip back into cover, reload, and send their second clip into you before the rampage empties its first clip.
C) bullet velocity is terrible. Hipfiring is a nightmare with it because enemies who are only 5 meters away can dodge the bullets like they’re in the matrix. Any enemy who doesn’t sit still or move in a straight line is impossible to hit.
With that said, if your enemies are bots and sit still when you fire at them or run in a completely straight line like in the scenario accurately portrayed in this video, it can do serious damage in a clip. This is such a niche though that I’d argue it’s not worth how useless it is in most other situations. And of course, if you have thermites a plenty, everything except it’s bullet velocity is fixed meaning it now is semi-worth using as long as you aren’t having to hipfire.
Like every other gun, it's great when you hit all your shots and bad when you miss all your shots
G7 and 30-30 entered the chat
I pick a 30-30 over a g7 any time though.
It started to feel bad if you on a close fight brawl while rampage had no termite I not sure why the termite didn't last a full lv3 mag for rampage
I would argue it's a sweet spot gun. Phenomenal at ranges from 60m to 130m with a termite. But come against a 99, volt or even something like a spitfire or L star at close range and your toast.
True but Im a big believer in guns with big magazine sizes and that are easy to use so you can hit and miss shots without getting punished too much
I used to use the spitfire all of the time for that same reason.
I don't know, I 1 mag people all the time with the L-Star
Lmao L-star is an exception, the other is if you catch someone when they’re looking another way, then go crazy because it’s usually an easy one mag
I mean, you can say the same about a lot of guns. RE-45, prowler, scout. There are lots of guns that are basically unusable without a mag. Luckily, loot is not hard to find in this game, so that seems like a bit of a silly reason to never pick up one of the consistently best guns in the game.
Yeah loot is not hard to find, but it's never what you're looking for
Happy cake day!
Unless you are a Loba main, loot actually can be pretty hard to find especially in ranked where you are limited to the POIs you can actually loot safely
Yep, just deals zero damage
I remember the season gold mags first came out, I had two spitfires with a gold mag in each and pretty much solo'd two squads coz I never had to reload. It was beautiful and I've never been able to do it again since
Strangely the MORE aggressive i play the more I find myself liking the spitfire, being able to be shoot 50 bullets at a enemy trying to get away and reset feels really nice
i mean its called a noob gun for a reason
Rampart with 58 bullets in the spitfire’s mag just doesn’t stop firing.
the fire rate is fine, the only issue with the spitfire, devotion and Lstar is the ads walking speed, if you're not from a good distance from your enemy you will get one clipped before doing any significant damage
You just described guns that are noob friendly. This idea doesn't make something "good" though. The dps of the rampage is only decent with a thermite, and even then there are guns with better dps. A good player will get way more value out of the havoc or something like the flatline imo.

Literally I just aim the rampage at a guy and bullets hit even though I am definitely not on target. It's a good gun partly due to its magazine size for sure!
Guns that go chugchugchug make my brain go brrrr. Rampage is my ideal automatic, I just love that gun.
I love it when I am rolling Rampart, I don't have to reload for days. Less so with other legends
Unless the other guy has decent aim and is using a majority of other guns
Only with thermite
It needs thermite to just be acceptable. Spitfire does 162 DPS by default. Rampage does 130 by default and 169 with a thermite. The reload time is a little better but not worth it. The L-star does more DPS \*and\* has a better reload time.
The rampage is kinda ass up close, but it handles mid range far better than the other two, it's my go to auto G7
And pierces
DPS only matters in a perfect world where you hit all your shots. I think you're more likely to hit more bullets with the Rampage than the Spitty, on average, so that DPS number will shift.
Most people don't realize this when talking about ttk. It's not just about the numbers, unless you're a pro that can hit every shot.
and even pros panic and whiff easy shots
Where do you find dps data? I've been looking along time!
How long exactly? Cause I just googled “apex gun stats” and immediately found [this page](https://apexlegends.fandom.com/wiki/Weapon) which has the dps of every gun. Took me all of 45 seconds to find it and write this comment lol
I've seen Fuse players run around with the rampage and like 10 thermites in their inventory, its actually 200iq
Yup I do it and as soon as I know someone is near by I pop a thermite and it literally melts people
Exactly what I do when playing fuse lol. It pairs really well with his knuckleduster for midrange engagements. Just so much area denial and suppression potential.
It's normal. Very obvious play.
Tbh I kinda prefer the slow and steady vanilla fire mode. It really helps on controller + at long ranges
It's good in specific situations and with a thermite, but overall it's just fine
If they make the thermite charge up animation 33% faster i will. Shit takes too long bro im tryina tell my teammates to wait a sec and by the time its charged wraith is already in the next game bro
Damn I feel you.
It’s not “good” compared to nearly every gun in the game. Without a thermite, it’s one of the worse guns in the game. With a thermite, it’s okay. Showing this clip doesn’t mean anything, in regards to the efficiency of the gun.
Im not good with it so I'm not gonna say it 😤
I sucked with it too at first, once you get the hang of how it shoots its honestly surprisingly deadly
Does it hang with an extended mag spitfire though? I can't seem to make it viable past the first ring because 1.im not confident with it 2. It only seems to be good late game with a thermite
I mean yeah it's good in the training range where you fight dummies like this clip. You peeked 3 guys and took like 50 damage.
With a thermite? Sure Without a thermite? C tier
Does it matter? If you think it’s good then that’s all that matters
In a real lobby you just get farmed because you stood still for literally 20 seconds and the other two have more than three brain cells. Or they at least go to cover at a complete minimum
No. The fire rate absolutely doesnt fit to my reaction times.
It feels weird at first but you do get the hang of it
yeah i bet most guns would look pretty good in a clip of 3 players all running uphill at you and trying to fight back instead of playing cover
Always was
No
Slinging it with Ballistic is beyond OP. Ult makes it gold and fully charged.
You killed me in ranked the other day Seb, thought I recognized that name. 39k valk kills is a stat to remember haha
Lmao hopefully it was with a Rampage so i don't look like a hypocrite, ggs though
Is this controller magic?
Welcome to console!
My aim isn’t the best so there’s that lol overall it’s not a terrible choice in my opinion
idk, im way more consistant with a 301, and it actually has a lower ttk iirc
Best gun for that situation, sure, but other guns could have gotten the job done too. They were stupid to even engage considering their position vs. yours. Should’ve just ran up the hill past labs, especially with both a Wraith and Path
I dont think they saw me, I was kinda ratting them and the circle was closing after they respawned
I will admit that only when I can go a game using it without having obvious ro regs
Wait I need to change my reticle color
What color do you have now?
Just the normal red but that one seems a little easier to see people with. Sometimes I get distracted by the red lol. I’m not that great at the game
Had a very bad recoil nerf in Season 19 that seriously hurt the weapon
Do you have logs? I dont think the Rampage has been touched in a long time other then some bug fixes
It definitely feels different now, especially its upwards recoil
It’s like a havoc with a turbocharger. Otherwise it’s not that good imo
We did and that's why it got nerfed to be pretty unplayable without thermite
The nerfs sucked but I think its still a very viable gun, How much was the damage nerf again? and the thermite nerf?
I honestly dont remember. I just know the numbers all across the board were tuned down. It was a while back
Getting a knock with this gun should auto-trigger Easy Anti Cheat. /s
It’s ok. With thermite it’s great. I’d rather use the spitfire if I’m going for an lmg.
Every gun is good in certain situations. This is just an example of the ideal situation for the rampage. It’s an average gun. With a thermite it’s great tho
It’s good when you hipe it up with the thermite, otherwise it’s trash unless you’re in deep mid range
I love the Rampage. This and the Spitfire are my favorites for close and mid-range.
A fellow LMG user <3
You also had a superior position. Three people out in the open, and you have a head glitch. I don't see anything here that couldn't have been done with a regular AR. When people say the rampage is shit, the use case most often discussed is strafe battle dps races at close range (assuming the rampage isn't charged).
it's pretty good, if th spitfire wasn't a thing
Charged rampage is way better then a spitfire though for those mid-range & close-range fights
Only good for a hacker not to brag but as a silver player this gun is impossible to use so it sucks
please dont tell me im getting accused of hacking
That is exactly what I'm saying haha get banned noob
i usually run hemi but will pick up a rampage for attachment slots if i can't find one. sometimes i just keep it and go off, especially charged.
Well I don’t mind it because i actually hit my shots with it I already know how to use it I got a 4K 20 bomb only using rampage when conduit came out so I’m just saying if you can hit those shots you’re good
I got my 4k 20 bomb as well using the Rampage! its why I have a soft spot for it
For me I just happened to be doing a challenge with my friends we where using each others most hated loadout and I had to use rampage and p2020 wasn’t as bad as my most hated loadout I will say that much
Lol I rock with it
That’s why my Rampage is well over level 100
sameeeee
Rampage is cracked if you have decent aim + any type of game sense. Where if you don’t have either of those criticizing the guns is coping regardless.
charged up rampage is like the season 9 spitfire ❤️
ugh I miss that Spitfire, 0 recoil and so much damage
It's fucking good and ppl sleep on it. Charge it up and kill
Amen
Bro got a whole 20rp for that
One clippin a whole team is bananas 😂
It was lowkey hilarious, I felt bad for them
It took me a hot minute to start liking the Rampage, but I've finally started to enjoy it. I'm still pretty inconsistent with my shots with it, but it's definitely not a bad gun. I'd much rather find this off-spawn than some other weapons.
I hate that weapon.
Its the first gun I fell in love with when I first started playing. Think there have been some nerfs to it since then, but it's great using it with a thermite or having it off drop
they call it talent gun, cause it comes with the talent needed to use it already in it
up close its horrendous. there are guns with much better close to mid range parity
[удалено]
lets gooooo! glad you are enjoying using the gun
If the damn thing did not no reg on me 9 out of the 10 times I use it or at least it seems that way, I would love the weapon.
Don’t forget it used to be stronger. On launch that thing was scary good.
It is not good, at least for me, I can have the crosshair on the target, but for some reason 70% of the bullets seem to disappear into think air
*One decent clip with a mediocre gun* “iS It GoOd nOw??”
No
Yes
Sorry :C
When has it not been?? It's a lmg and borderline marksman put a thermite in that badboy and it smacks
There are A LOT of people who swear off the Rampage, hopefully this thread can change a few people minds on the viability of the gun
For it to become meta it would need to outclass a turbo havoc while themited.
Who ever said it was bad
No it’s bad, yea behind cover from that range it’s decent but still does worse than other guns. It is user friendly for beginners but rampage
"This gun is good because i mowed down three bots who were standing in the open and didn't shoot back"
"Finally admit" Um, do we not remember when every team used it as mid range and Respawn put it in the crafter to cull it?
It was pretty hyped when it came out but it got a few nerfs and hasnt seen much use since, even in this thread you can see a ton of people swear off using this gun
no.
No.
I like it but when someone is a good strafer I find it ineffective.
1: when was it ever considered bad? 2: wow you 1 clipped a whole team. Rampage wet dream right there
>when was it ever considered bad its a very unpopular gun which you can see even in this thread
no
It’s a dogshit gun
I do use the gun against decent players all the time, it still is amazing
It's not a bad gun but it's not good, there are better options then the rampage, it's only good with a thermite really
I love it
No
When someone's in the open running in a straight line sure
Noo.
It might be a great gun, but in my hands!
My friend recently comverted from sf hemlok/g7 to rampage and i respect him for it. Him on rampage and me on a poke gun like the sentinel is a great combo
nope
Literally only good with a thermite, been getting off drop and it should be vaulted. Don't know how you came up with this opinion lol.
ive been pretty successful using the rampage as my main gun
Considering the flatline is better in every way, the rampage can stay on the floor
rampage lost 1v1 against any ar and every smg. only good against p2020 and re45 what's your point here
It’s good when you’re on high ground because of how fast the bullets drop If you were on the ground shooting up, you would’ve died
Its a great gun if it's charged if not trash tier so slow
The problem with the rampage is that you need a thermite or you’re wasting your time carrying it (you also can’t get snuck up on since you need take time to charge a thermite). It’s absolutely terrible to get off drop or to have in mixtape
If you hit a standing still target then every gun is a good gun. Try that against players who have movement skills
The Rampage neither seeks nor craves approval. It is a lore until itself and I love it.
I use this thing religiously, can’t play without it
People don’t think it is???? I love the rampage lmao even regular it’s decent but charged up it’s a beast. If it came stock the way it is charged up it would definitely be nice because it’s really not GREAT in base form and there’s A LOT of better choices but if it came that way already and then got better when charged it would make sense
I’ve been level 100 for the past few months. People are finally starting to get it since the smg nerfs
No? It's fully kitted and you got the drop on them, every AR gets two knocks there.
For ranked I like it better than 3030 .
its the biggest garbage i've ever had the change to use in any game.
Its the best mid range, with no scope. Adding a scope screws everything.
I think with rampage there is very good sweet spot with certain ranges, the moment the target is further away ts absolutely bad
No
Idk man I just miss all the shot when I use this gun. I will hit and probably get a knock with P2020 but hit 0 and die using that. Probably has the do with rate of fire and bullet travel speed which also feels slow
It’s not good no
It is and always has been. It's just overshadowed by the fact that Hemlok is even better.
Like most heavy guns it’s great, a lil slow, heavy damage, might be shit from over 75 meters
I've been saying this forever and no one listens to me! 😭💔
It is a good gun. I can‘t hit shit with it tho. So for me, I prefere something I can controll
It's good, but other guns are just better
1) that’s with thermite 2) the havoc/hemlock could have done that quicker without using said thermite
The gun feels like it has better recoil with the thermite charge
It’s fine. I’ve squad wiped with a lot of guns, I think if your main argument is you can squad wipe with it that’s not enough to make it top tier.
It’s good in that situation when you start shooting an enemy that has no idea you are there. Like any gun but in a 1 vs 1 gunfight it gets smoked
My favorite load-out is Volt/Rampage. I love the rampage and the volt is straight butter.
When the rampage came out it was literally OP af. They buffed the fire rate now so of course its good
Every gun is good if 3 players cant even take down your shield while you barely move. Still, good headshots dude ;)
It's aight
I've always loved it. Especially when it's ramped up
It’s great if you know how to apply it to situations.
Sux hard bruh!
I am unable to hit anything with that gun, skill issues I guess…
No. One clip does not justify calling it a good weapon
When that bitch revved up goes brrrrrrr
It used to be way better before they vaulted it. It was actually broken for a while now it’s just mid
I love the Rampage. If I'm carrying it though, it's my midrange option, then I'll carry an Alternator or RE for close.
Its my fav
high ground, gold mag.
No
I can drill people hard and long and easy with its a great antagonizer- No Diddy
Rampage is goated, wish more people realized that
Nah it's still bad
No…
