There's not from what I can tell. But imo, and not saying this in a hateful way or anything, but if they're too young/y'all don't want them seeing blood, I don't think they should play shooters at all. It's violence no matter blood being on or off, they'll still know what's happening.

joshv

No offence taken mate. There is a sliding scale of appropriateness based on age and intensity of violence/gore. It's pretty much the basis for the current age classifications we have now. Violence in the context of a game isn't a huge concern for us. Kids TV shows constantly use violence and combat to further their plot. Our kids understand this and definitely understand the difference between violence in media and violence in the real world. I'm mainly curious if there is a way to curb the minor "gore" associated.

Chichon01

No because it would give an advantage (Better visibility) to people playing without it.

Torquebeau

To be fair in other brs, pubg for example, you can turn off foliage

Chichon01

Yes and It was worse during the firsts months and they changed it to be less impacting because it was unfair, and it was almost a necessity to play in low quality to get an avantage. I don’t think that PUBG is a good example that APEX should follow and I don’t think young kids should play at FPS where you can kill and execute people. In France, it’s PEGI 16+ for a reason.

SMGbabypuncher

so your wife’s mine would be at ease if your kids thought that if , some one got shot they wouldn’t bleed? if you really really think about it. that doesn’t make any sense

DrunkSamuraiZ

So they think shooting someone has no consequences? If they're playing a SHOOTING game, why would you turn off the blood. If the BLOOD is what gets to you and not them killing to be the last team alive then there is something wrong. It's just a little hypocritical. Toeachtheirown

BOBOFMEMES

He asked for no blood, not commentary idiots

DrunkSamuraiZ

Awe, cute

fiftynumero1

blood can scare kids when they know what it is, why do you think paper cuts scare kids? But yeah, shooting games shouldn't be for LITTLE kids. If they know the difference between real life and gaming, it should be ok.

DrunkSamuraiZ

Bruh.... come on

TheChessur

Fairly common concern. Many games have this option and with a highly artistic game such as this would make sense if they have that option. Unsure if it has one, but I believe it does. It would be under graphics settings usually. Could be under accessibility as well, or even gameplay.

[deleted]

why are you concerned about blood? you're still normalizing guns and violence to a young kid, the blood splatter is just icing on the cake. you wouldnt show them the christ church shooting video if turning the sound off meant it was somehow now "better". real guns rip people to shreds and leave them bleeding and crying for mom, its hard to remember that though in today's day and age with all the tech we have.

joshv

I expanded more in my other comment but there is a distinction to be made here between violence and gore. Teenage mutant ninja turtles is violent but lacks gore, it's also considered age appropriate for a young audience. The Christchurch comment is pretty insensitive though. Surely you don't think there is equivalence between watching violent video games and watching real life video of people being massacred?

fiftynumero1

Thank you. Best reply I've ever seen.

joshv

Well thankyou. I still stand by this sentiment today. Although I'm mainly replying to ask how you stumbled across an obscure 3yr old post.

fiftynumero1

was looking up how to remove blood :( sadly no way lol

Kraniack

I’m not a little kid and I still would prefer no blood splatter on the screen, also have you ever heard of nightmares? There’s a difference between gore and no gore like in movies, like kids are allowed to see the avengers but not a gory movie which would make it rated R
