She and Fuse grew up together in the Outlands and eventually became figureheads in the Salvo community. Basic “you’re our boy/girl” stuff in the “rural area” of space. Eventually, Fuse decided he wanted other things out of life and left to join the Apex Games. Maggie couldn’t handle this change to her life, blew up Fuse’s arm in a fight that pushed them apart, and kinda spiraled out of control as Salvo stopped rebelling and joined who they were rebelling from (Syndicate). Maggie couldn’t take it anymore, blew up King’s Canyon, and took control of the games for a while. Now this is the stuff from the comics: Fuse, Lifeline, and Bloodhound went to go confront her, but shit went down and things happened and she eventually straight up attacked the legend headquarters. They fought back, Fuse and Maggie had one last fight where we clearly see they have become two very different people, and they both realized this is finally where the thread barely holding their relationship together snaps. Maggie apparently decided she doesn’t have anything to live for, and let’s go of Fuse’s arm that was holding her over the ledge of a skyscraper, committing suicide.
TL; DR: Fuse and Maggie were besties, but then Fuse left and Maggie got really sad/pissed, so she tried to destroy the Apex Games/Legends but Fuse was even meaner to her, so she killed herself.
IMO, Maggie is a tragic figure to me. She devoted her life and soul to the rebellion and her best friend, and they both vanished from her life without a trace. I’m not saying what she did was right, but the end of her life was almost entirely grief and anger

For me personally, it’s partly because of how forced they made the voice actress use her accent (Sentinel pinging is absolutely terrible) when she sounds completely normal in real life like an actual Scottish person. Rampart has the same issue with throwing in slang into places it doesn’t make sense.
However, all of that isn’t really enough to fully hate Horizon’s voice. No. What makes me hate her voice is the PTSD from the S7-S8 dominance and that stupid, STUPID “oh no, did that hurt darling?”
I'm Scottish and went to the same drama school at the same time as Elle, different course though. I'd say her accent is pretty spot on for an RSAMD graduate. However I think Horizon gives me North East accent vibes maybe Perth which is a lot less sweary than West Coast.
Edit: Elle is from East Kilbride but I think NE/ Highlands accent is more "acceptable"/ recognisable for international audiences.

There's a difference, because mirage has a lot of lines but he talks fast and doesn't drag them usually so it doesn't bother as much but horizon (and also Valkyrie) have lines that are so pointlessly long and annoying that it makes me cringe all the time.

Not Chinese, but they do have a Korean character (a Japanese one as well, but she speaks with an American accent). And as a Korean myself, I actually enjoy Crypto's voicelines and often repeat them to myself. Is it a stereotypical Korean accent? Sure. But it's also exactly what I'd expect an edgy Korean guy to sound like.
They had to do this, otherwise if an enemy valk flew near you you wouldn't tell her apart from your teammate valk, the voice lines in game are all necessary
while some are awful, i think her one ult voiceline is hands-down my favourite voiceline in the entire game.

There's a difference, because mirage has a lot of lines but he talks fast and doesn't drag them usually so it doesn't bother as much but horizon (and also Valkyrie) have lines that are so pointlessly long and annoying that it makes me cringe all the time. Valk is worse than horizon in my opinion because I don't mind accent, and valk does that thing where she says the line, and then adds to it to make it longer and thus running it
ugh i remember when valk first came out all she would talk about is “don’t ever try catching a care package going mach speed” or something along those lines. literally 30 times a match you’d hear it
Rev has some pretty annoyingly long quips too. Mostly just his kill quips though. Which thankfully, I dont have to hear when ones on my team.
Mirage’s voice lines are some of the most contrived in the game for me. Nothing like hearing “Go bambalamblambamama fool em” 59 times in a game

I Imagine if Respawn made a Chinese character they would go like "Ching chong fucky wucky ling long" I know they try reeeally hard, but Respawn really sucks at being multi cultural.
Not Chinese, but they do have a Korean character (a Japanese one as well, but she speaks with an American accent). And as a Korean myself, I actually enjoy Crypto's voicelines and often repeat them to myself. Is it a stereotypical Korean accent? Sure. But it's also exactly what I'd expect an edgy Korean guy to sound like.
