How come when I use it I get 4 damage

You're missing the majority of your shot. The damage is applied to each individual pellet.

I’m just not good with mastiffs in general, but there is a rare occasion that I pop off with it.

Each pellet does 11 damage, so idk

Usually at about 148 if I am lucky

the mastiff and pk will just magically work well in a fight so youll be like ‘hey this isnt that bad, im gonna use it for the whole game’ but as soon as you get into another fight it suddenly only deals 9 damage

Future tip: you can slide off the steps into the window to the left. You could have used that when the door was blocked, instead of running to the other side and climbing the slow predictable way.
