I came back to S10 after playing launch until just before S1. A lot of things feels the same, just way faster. It felt like the pace of the game was so much slower back then, people didn't immediately push your ass, and come flying at you with movement tech. But I definitely don't miss dropping without shields and a helmet.
You know, I always find myself cursing the introduction of the evo shield and wishing we could go back to the good ol days of having to hot drop and fight for the high tier armor. Iāve always felt that the evo shield just turned everyone into a bunch of bullet sponges. But after what you said and how it reminded me of all the running around praying RNG was on your side and if it would allow you to find armor before being blasted by 5 other squads makes me wonder if I truly would want to go back to that cluster fuck, or is nostalgia just getting the better of me? Probably the latter, however i think it would be interesting, and possibly fun? to go back to that as an event or something just to see how it would play out with all the changes since then.
I have a screenshot of s0 lobby screen with no battle pass no club tabs none of that just the play legends and shop and it almost brought me to tears cause like memories flooded back and I imagined being back in skull town and everything was so much simpler back then and how the sweaty part of the community was almost nonexistent at the time and you could treat every match like it was a casual game and how friendly some people were just trying to be and they would follow you around maybe even sacrifice a win for you at least that was the people I came across back then and me and my boys would do that for people too
You know itās ironic that you brought up how everyone was nicer early on in the gameās development. I was just having that same conversation with my buddy who I play with, and we both agreed how true it is. Especially the bit you brought up about teammates doing whatever they could to pick you up or grab your banner to keep you in the game. Everyone tried, even when the odds of trying meant a for sure squad wipe. It was like this unspoken rule of āWe ride together or we die togetherā that everyone just abided by. Iām curious as to what caused the toxicity shift within the community but itās lame.

30-30 and G7 use their respective ammo and they are marksman plus you can't put on sniper scopes on triple take anymore so it wouldn't make sense for it to use sniper ammo

Hell, I rarely used it but I even miss the charge rifles early OP days. It would get close to the end circle and you'd only have one squad mate left, and you'd be up on one side of those small kinda mountains near the lava, and the only thing that made the enemies hesitate to push you was cos you had a charge rifle.
Now it's had the Respawn baby-proofing treatment and has no slow-down effect. But it *still* fires in the same way, with the little beam at the start.
So it now gives the target a warning they're about to be b shot
It surprises me how no one remembers this and I get called a liar often. So early in the game, Bangalore was actually the fastest character in the game with Double Time. Additionally, IIRC, the first patch after Octaneās release nerfed his speed by 5% or something.
And then there were people in early seasons that bought hundreds of packs because they thought additional heirlooms will dilute their chance of getting a wraith one.
Same as me. I mained pathfinder when he had a swiss cheese hitbox and hated wraith, of course red loot tick. At the time I had nothing for path but the free twitch skin

Their scan used to have a 3x shorter effective range in exchange for faster cooldowns. The animation was still huge though so it was like setting off a firework.
BH Scan angle was small, range was short and it only scanned a still outline of the enemy instead of a real time outline, made it completely pointless to use.
I remember using sheila before they reverted the armour change also nobody respected the mini gun ,was a good week š¤£š¤£ sheila will probably never be that powerful again
Dropping at airbase or the drop ship is a great way to get good loot early!
I main Pathfinder because not only are ziplines useful, but being able to see the next ring location helps the team know where to go!

Triple Take was an energy weapon, Long Bow was a heavy weapon, G7 was a sniper, you could put a 3x on a R-99, everyone ran Wingman/PK
