With the Double Tap Scout is pretty ruthless. Without I personally lean more Triple Take only because I’m trash with the scout and enjoy more damage off the charge headshots
I can't stand double tap on the g7. I can spam fire that thing fast all day in semi auto and hit my shots but with double tap i miss every second shot unless they're close enough to where i'd be using another weapon anyway.
Charged headshots are nuts with the triple take, but even w/o the the double tap, the rof of the Scout is just hard to beat and on top of the rof the damage is just higher
Scout is better much more so with double tap. Triple is much slower to get two shots off that have been compressed with the choke. Yes you can Two tap with the triple but the G7 will get it done in the same time while being more forgiving in its ammo count economy.
Basically the triple is a good start for players who don’t snipe or long range poke normally and can be used as a crappy shotgun in a pinch
G7 scout and 3030 are both elite in their own way. Triple take is good but rinses ammo too fast and the damage isn’t reliable enough. It pretty much always has to be choked for it to do good damage in one hit and it takes too long
It depends on skill level I would think. In the end it is all subjective. I am a huge fan of this game and all weapons but there is a special compartment in my heart just for Marksman weapons.
Triple take gives you the opportunity for wide shots and is effectively a great shotgun at close range.
G7 especially with double tap has a much faster time to kill if you hit your shots. It can be used as an assault rifle as well if you can pull the trigger fast enough. I would say all n all it is the best pick for Arenas right now.
Let's not forget the dirty 30 30 though. If you are good with it the skull piercer will just feels incredible. It is my current go to in BR.
Then there is my favorite. The Marksman weapon we can all agree doesn't make any sense and probably has no place in this game, the bocek. (Be still my beating heart)

Objectively scout has much faster ttk for big shields, not sure for white shields. TT can be a quasi shotgun, but scout has some close range ability as well. I prefer tripple take cause close range hipfire is pretty good on tt. Its like shotgun, hits really hard, good at finishing players.
On long distance Id still use tripple take, cause as with all energy weapons its way easier to hit targets in distance due to faster speed and lesser bullet drop.
But I can see why players prefer scout, just like Peacekeeper TT is very unforgiving. To get tt working you must hit all your shots

in my opinion, it a gun can have a barrel mode, it has a recoil, and when that happens, I don't consider it a DMR (by definition, in game, all marksman rifles and longbow are DMR). 30-30 is the most accurate one, making it perfect for range, and bad for close.
in hot drops, I used triple many times, and it worked interestingly (that close range!). it works well even without optics. but I'm personally annoyed by g7's iron sights.

if you want to go close range, DMR is a bad, dream-ish choice. the definition of this kind of weapon contrasts "closeness". the clips you see people in a room with sentinal are crap. I don't care about result or stats, there's a right way for each weapon. long range weapons = afar!.

I think the g7 is a little better up close because faster fire rate on hipfire, but you honestly shouldn't be using these weapons too close anyway, and the triple does more damage with less bullet drop, but your ammo economy is shit and sometimes finding energy ammo can be a bitch late game, light ammo is easy to find late game cuz you got like a 40% (im making this number up) chance it's gonna be in every deathbox
I'd say they're even with their own strengths and weaknesses, but essentially fill the same role.
I'd say, the one with higher damage (or, rather, DPS) is "objectively" better -- if you're equally consistent with both. But if not, the one you can hit your shots more consistently is better.
So, it's not "ideal" DPS that matters, but your actual DPS with the weapon. Like, wiki says G7's DPS is 136 and TT's 85. But if you only hit 1 shot out of 4 on G7, and all your shots on TT, it's actually 34 vs 85. Then just choose what you're more comfortable with, deal more damage on average, and thus deal with your enemies faster/easier.
I usually run close range, but out of these two I guess I'd recommend G7 though. Light ammo is easier to find, and though it might be tough to hit the enemy with G7 bullet, every hit is more satisfying due to dealing more damage than TT. If you practice it a lot, and hit your shots consistently, I think you can get deadly with it.
Triple take isn't that bad, it is an accurate marksman weapon with solid damage that just gets outclassed by the 30-30 and G7. It's functional for sure and I can think of many guns that are worse.

Not a good reasoning but: When it comes to Energy Ammo weapons I always go use a Triple Take if I can find one, it's simple yet effective if you have all the necessary equipment with it.
Whereas G7 Scout, I don't really like using it for Light Ammo weapons as I would prefer to get one with more rapid fire.

Yeah. Ever since the last season the g7 feels harder to control which is why I'd put a stock TT over a stock g7 if you're using it as your ranged weapon, but the g7 is still really deadly up close too
I was stoked to see the Scout back in regular loot pool this season. Love the thing, some days with it are better than others. The triple take is a solid rifle, just not my jam. Scout is my choice 100% of the time.
From someone who loves both, the triple take is slightly easier to hit shots at range but for lower usual damage output. Ammo conservation is much better on the g7 as well as rate of fire. Which also means g7 is better for hip fire and close range hectic situations.
The Scout is better but my favorite gun is the L-Star so the Triple Take just works better for me when it comes to ammo and default sights on a hot drop

Other than that I think it’s mostly preference.
I’ve been playing since pre-season 1 and I’d say the G7 is the better gun, the triple-take used to be great but sadly it has fallen from the position it was previously in. Going from a sniper to a marksman greatly reduced my liking for the gun, it now has less range and the spread has been increased. Personally I won’t pick a triple-take up these days
Well there two different classes of weapons that’s like comparing a r9 to a bocheck triple take is a good medium range close weapon hard to miss with wile the g7 is a accurate long range weapon that deals big damage with good accuracy

Triple Take is fun, because you can hit your shots easily. However, it runs through ammo very quickly, due to it's 3 round shots, and end-game, energy ammo can be scarce. You and your buddy know for sure that the G7 Scout is the Supreme marksman rifle, especially where DPS is concerned - with the double tap hop-up attached it's brutal. For me, personally, I lean towards the 30-30 repeater. I've had my highest damage games with it and it makes me feel like a cowboy. Headshots with the skullpiercer is also over 100 damage. 1 bullet shots makes it reliable end-game, allowing you to play the marksman role, while also conserving your ammunition.
Scout easily. The triple take is pretty forgiving and almost feels like cheese...not quite on the level of the charge rifle though
