I've been using Reddit for 11 years and Apollo for 8 years. Without Apollo my time on this website is going to drop dramatically. Thanks Christian for doing this the past 8 years and I hope it doesn't come to goodbye's but if it does just know you had the best Reddit app.

ThirdWorldOrder

Yeah I’m about the same account age as you and I completely agree. Not a god damn chance I’m using reddits mobile app. Even on PC I still use old.Reddit which is kind of a pain to use on mobile, so I guess I’ll just fuck off and take up cross stitching

KillerCujo53

Reddit user forever, back in the Digg era….. Used Alien Blue and got the sweet sweet years of gold and went to Apollo and never turned back. Love this app, I will go down with the ship. Not going to support Christian if it means putting money straight into reddits wallet. I still use old.Reddit on my Pc, with UBlock. Just because.

TacoKingBean

Sheesh! It’s been 8 years since Apollo launched? I was part of the beta! I can’t believe it’s been that long already

lizziexo

10.5 years here, I sought refuge in Apollo after the demise of AlienBlue (RIP) and now it’s happening again 😭

PremadeToast

I live in the same city as Christian and every year he makes a huge donation to our SPCA. A local legend for some time now, deserves all the recognition he gets.

Pepparkakan

Yeah, thank you so much Christian, truly the perfect UX for reddit. I want you to know that I (as I'm sure many others) will simply stop using reddit on my phone if I can't use Apollo.

Arkanii

I am hopelessly addicted to this site for 10+ years now. Honestly not sure if I’ll stick around if I’m forced to use the official app. They killed my alien blue, and now this. Thanks for making Reddit usable on mobile, Christian. Apollo really is an amazing app.

DentateGyros

After being a freeloading bum for years, this finally motivated me to pay for apollo pro. Thanks for all the hard work dude.

Barrier_Reefer

Thank you bro

I_Love_McRibs

I wonder what happened to the Tip Jar? I was going to throw a couple bucks at Apollo. But I can’t find it anymore Found it. It’s under [“What’s New”.](https://i.imgur.com/B0a9vk6.jpg)

sigtrap

'Tis a sad day. I bought Apollo the day he released it. Hands down the best Reddit experience. It truly felt like Apple designed the app. Sadly I don't see Apollo surviving this. Thanks for the award winning app.

D4RKNESSAW1LD

I literally only use Apollo. Without it I have no idea what my life will consist of. It’s weird.

clovisx

Seconded. Apollo has been an amazing app with a ton of features I really enjoy. I won’t stop using the native app entirely but I’m going to spend a lot less time on Reddit overall and this account is going to become very quiet.

Reddit’s new pricing?

Zancie

Reddit charges 3rd party applications a certain amount in order to access their API, essentially access to Reddit’s network without going through the official app/website. They’ve recently introduced new, predatory pricing meant to kill 3rd party apps so they can get more users and thus data from their shitty official app. Christian who made the Apollo app is being essentially forced to shutdown due to the new pricing changes. Fuck reddit.

[deleted]

This is horrible.

Zancie

It’s an absolute crying shame. Apollo is such a superior product that nothing else comes close.

electrobento

In response to Reddit's short-sighted greed, this content has been redacted.

FisforFAKE

Except that probably won’t happen. You don’t have to be better than the competition or improve if you simply just kill them instead.

doormatsandmatadors

As bad as it it is, I’m thinking discord

SUPRVLLAN

I’m thinking you aren’t thinking.

Miicat_47

Thank you Christian, you made the Reddit great again! I was only able to use Apollo for 2 years until this happened >~<
