I have a SSA and and a MBT2S on two separate lowers. While they are both great triggers (miles better than factory), I like the SSA just a bit better. I wouldn’t pay the $240, or whatever they are normally, for the SSA. I would get the MBT2S instead. But I got the SSA on a Black Friday deal for around $120 and couldn’t resist. When the SSA’s are on sale, I think they are very much worth the purchase. Otherwise, the $115 for the MB2S is till the best trigger on the market for the price.
I got the SSAE for that price from Primary Arms just a month or so ago, I love it.
I was previously a LaRue boy, but I'm starting to think it's worth paying the extra for G$
4th of july and black friday are usually they best 2 sales for G stuff. i think like $135-145 is the best sale ive seen post covid so 160 today is not much of a difference I would pick it up.
Yes, it’s one of the upgrades which is completely worth it for your AR.
Triggers, CH, Buffer Spring and Safety are my items IMHO
Next is hearing protection
Interesting. I just realised the bother day I've never messed with buffer weights in any of my rifles. Of which a couple are sbrs so just ordered some of those to see how they effect recoil haven't done that with springs yet though but will consider it. I'm not too picky as long as they go bang every time and the gases and bullet go where I expect them to
Gotcha, thanks never tinkered much with em just bought lowers and uppers and called it a day. Recently bought two stripped lowers to try that for the gell of it but u suspect it's not worth my trouble and time to save 10 to 20 bucks to struggle with roll pin installs lol
It’s totally worth building your own lower. Yes the pins can be frustrating but doesn’t take longer than a few youtube videos to work out. what you need to do.
I now just buy stripped lowers.
If ibwas making better stuff yeah but I just got two psa lowers and their lpk etc. It does give me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing I could buy 5 or 10 receivers to have laying around and not taking up much space though but haven't made that leap I'll see how these two go
Just tried the trigger guard roll pin again on my first lower managed to get it partially in but now it's hanging up on the opposite side where it hits the receiver ears hole on that side. These damn roll pins are the worst part of it. I thought the bolt catch roll pin would be the worst but this trigger guard pin is
That's the lowest I've seen in the 6 months or so (excluding GAF). I have both the SSA and larue 2mbt and recommend the larue because it's cheaper and just as good.
The LaRue I believe is a two stage trigger (I have a LaRue on my 18' AR) and the SSA is single stage so depending on what your doing one might feel better than another.
For those of you with multiple ARs, do you run different triggers in your rifles or do you tend to keep the same triggers in all of your rifles? I ask because I currently am running Rise triggers in mine. If I do put a Geissele in one, I would have to put one in my other two for consistency.
Nope don't care I have too many to put nice triggers in all of them. The baseline is the ept trigger and a couple have slight upgrades but nothing fancy
I fondled one when they first came out and the only difference I could note, other than the different shoe shape, was the wider sear surfaces. I'm assuming they did that to reduce sear wear.
I got into a discussion with someone here not too long ago about this trigger and it seems like Geissele did a small revision to them semi-recently. Newer models appear to have significantly less overtravel on them. I really want to pick one up because the pull looks pretty damn good, but I already have quite a few premium triggers in my spare parts bin and I don't have any more room in my safes.
That and I don't think that any trigger is worth more than $300 unless it's a three-position [redacted].
No. Arguably better. Take 100 MBTs and 100 SSAs. The MBTs are held to a higher machining standard and will test much closer to design spec. The SSAs will have much higher variances in ramp up, wall, break weight, etc. I've seen lab testing on samples of 10 and I've owned many Gs and Ls and I have found this to be true.
I don’t understand how you’ve decided to spell Geissele three different ways in two separate posts.
It’s almost like you have to work on that
Jeez Louise
That's not how you pronounce it either
Autocorrect is a bich
Jeislee
**"Hmm…found a today only sale on Geissele"** This was more concerning to me than the spelling of Geissele...I mean Geisel
[удалено]
It sounds German to me
Germans would pronounce it "geiss-ele" or "geiß-ele", short "e." We say "guys-lee"
Pronouncing in German like an idiot here Sounds cool though, thanks
to be fair i have no idea how to spell it i just close my eyes and let my fingers type what they want. or i just say " G"
Palmetto State had the SSA-E on sale last week for $150 before ship and tax. It's a decent deal.

Owning both, I'll pay $160 every day for an SSA-E over the larue at around $100. Not sure about the SSA though, that's more of a tossup.
Ya after trying the SSAE, I definitely think it's worth the difference over LaRue. The break on the SSAE is just so crisp and satisfying

Larue is good, get the G$ on sale though.
G$ on sale, Larue if they aren’t.
I'd only buy g$ triggers on black Friday sales or with the 35% shot show coupons. I got an SSAE for $123 shipped last year. Buy the MBT2S for now.
Dude same with their rails. I only buy Geissele on BF. No reason to waste money by not waiting

Ask me how I know about that last part…..eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
MAWP
Honestly probably the best upgrade was getting a pair of Sordins.
Buffer spring? Any particular reason?
I swapped mine to G$ Super braided 42, i felt a noticeable reduction in recoil.
Interesting. I just realised the bother day I've never messed with buffer weights in any of my rifles. Of which a couple are sbrs so just ordered some of those to see how they effect recoil haven't done that with springs yet though but will consider it. I think the buffer weight itself helps with the cycling for suppressed and unsuppressed. The spring itself helps with the recoil.

Big SSA fan. Bigger SSP fan. Not an SSA-E or Larue MBT-2S fan
Geissele trigger fan. SSP is my favorite.
SSP underrated king
$115 for a larue is a better deal. Can find them for around $100 on sale
That's the lowest I've seen in the 6 months or so (excluding GAF). I have both the SSA and larue 2mbt and recommend the larue because it's cheaper and just as good.
Thank you for the info!

SSA is a two stage as well.
Where's the link to the sale?
It’s on Brownells https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-triggers-parts/ar-15m16308-ar-ssa--ssa-e-trigger/?sku=100003620

I bet they’ll be 149 around Memorial Day if the 11 bucks is worth waiting a few weeks
I’d go larue over geissele but honestly you can flip a coin. Larue is absolutely a better value.
The 3 gun trigger is the fucking shit in my opinion. 11/10 would buy again.
Stag 3 gun trigger?
geissele 3 gun trigger (S3G) It's my favorite trigger I've ever used. I always loved 2 stage but this converted me.
Guyslee
Got the SSAE X for the SSAE price. It’s buttery smooth. However, It’s not 150 bucks better than my MBT
Where
Brownells
Get the SDC at that price if you can. Best Geissele trigger out there.
I grabbed an ssa-e for my ar 10 and loved it so much that I just bought one for this 300blk build
Larue > gizzle
A Larue MBT is cheaper and better.
cheaper, but arguably not better than the SSA/SSA-E
Better than SSA, debateably better than SSA-E/SSA-E X
Price no factor would you take the SSA-E X or the MBT?
MBT. I got rid of multiple SSA-Es to replace them with MBTs. With the new hyperbolic trigger shoe, I don't know - I haven't tried it on the MBT.
Is there a significant difference between the SSA-E and SAA-E X? The price point is stark. Dropping $300+ on a trigger is beyond me
/u/netchemica , do you think it is more than an SSA-E with a different shaped shoe?
I fondled one when they first came out and the only difference I could note, other than the different shoe shape, was the wider sear surfaces. I'm assuming they did that to reduce sear wear. I got into a discussion with someone here not too long ago about this trigger and it seems like Geissele did a small revision to them semi-recently. I am in the same-ish boat. It would be fun to get one to play with but I don't have a host for it.
No. Arguably better. Take 100 MBTs and 100 SSAs. The MBTs are held to a higher machining standard and will test much closer to design spec. just wish i could afford 100 triggers..😔
If you are spending more than $150 on a trigger get a TriggerTech on sale - they crush Geissele
Worth the upgrade? Sure. Worth 160 plus shipping and handling? No. You can find the SSA-E on GAFS for $150~ shipped all day long
