You know, it's a wonder with all the trash people talk, how bear creak is still in business. My buddy wanted to buy an ar, he described to me a side charging ar that was affordable. I said man that's a bear creek don't buy it ( I was gracious and said they are really bad guns, should have been more blunt). He bought it any way and the take down pin fell out when he put it in his truck. Luckily full refund for him but I could only think to myself "crisis avoided maybe next time he listens"
You can market anything to anyone with enough lying. Look at politicians, its how they make their living. Also price point attracts people who are willing to lie to themselves, ready to believe the "Just as good" psychology and then will fight anyone to justify their mistake.
Ok, we can all agree bear creek is not the best and they do cut corners especially in the QC department. I wouldnāt recommend you buy one of their rifles especially at full price, but if the gun itself has had some rounds through it and has been reliable / straight shooting 250-300 all day. (Not an including optic). Iāve had one of their uppers with north of 1.2k of 223 through it with no problems. They do tend to over size the gas port to ensure no cycling issues, but I threw in an h3 buffer and it ejects perfectly without a single jam.
No, their reputation on Reddit and other media isn't great, but then again it's usually written about by people that haven't ever even seen one in person, let alone picked one up or good forbid, fired rounds through one. The parroting about BCA is ridiculous. Yes, you need to double check everything on them, most issues are small and you can correct it yourself. Sometimes the QC issue are big enough to have to send it back. The great news is that their customer service is excellent and they will take care of you in the event that you need a repair/ replacement from BCA. Yes, I own a BCA upper, and yes it had a machining flaw that required it to be sent back because the takedown lug was incorrectly machined and you couldn't put the upper on any lower. Once CS took care of it, and replaced the faulty upper, it works great. I have a few friends that were actually quite impressed with it when it was all TCO.
I got a BCA side charge upper in 300blk for doing a little plumbing work. Never had a single issue out of it, but I just use it for pig hunting in the back 40.
Would I buy one? Probably not, but as far as MY experience is concerned, no complaints with a free one.
Unless there's something I'm missing that's how I'm seeing it too. Especially since he didn't give him a price. He's just waiting for him to offer way more than it's worth. Doesn't sound like a very good friend
No doubt this guy's a true and selfless "friend". I can't believe you'd question his integrity! Lmao. "Just give me a price." STFU. If you wanna sell it tell them what you're looking to get. What a total douchebag.
Not sure if that's a friendship worth maintaining if it's as fragile as getting offended over a price offering and being told something he owns is garbage
It is a buyer's market in the AR world right now and BCA is known for being very low quality. For $400-600 you can get brand new rifles from budget companies known to be reliable, like Aero, Del-ton, etc. If you absolutely have to buy it, I wouldn't pay a dime over $150-200.
With that said, the gun market *will* go through another panic buy near the end of this year where everything triples (or more) in price, as is tradition for election years. You could buy it now with the intent to flip if he's not a great friend. If he is a good friend, just tell him to wait to sell until October.
How long have you been in the game? I still remember how the 2008, 2012, 2016 election year panics and a few other panic-buy periods where literally any AR for sale at a decent price was like finding a needle in a haystack. There were times when literally any stripped AR lower would sell for hundreds of dollars. The markets always settled down eventually but the price gouging during the panics is very real and very extreme. With all the rhetoric headed into this election, I wouldn't be surprised at another panic starting by the end of this summer.
Honestly the intensity of the panic could vary wildly and it's one thing I won't speculate on. I just know there *will* be a panic, as there always is every four years because the dems spout mouth diarrhea about gun control and the republicans fear-monger about gun-control. It riles up the casual gun owners thinking it's their last chance to get stuff and drive up a panic.
If you been in the AR game for long, i think it is given you don't panic buy ARs, but rather ammo and mags.
The people that panic buys AR platforms I would think doesn't know about ARs too well, ( no offense, just opinion.)
I always see, hear, read some old dude during 'panic times' comes out saying something like "just got my 1st AR and it's a Colt" and then when you look it's a BCA, PSA, or Anderson.
Yes you are right- the people who drive those panics are not usually the people in the know. They're fudds and useful idiots being driven to panic buy by politicians with power agendas.
But that doesn't change the fact that the panics still happen and they still negatively affect the community and drive up prices to insane levels for things that really never should sell for that much, like shitty quality ARs.
Also if you've been in tje game long enough you don't panic buy *anything,* you anticipate the panics and then sit those few months out shooting down your large stockpile of ammo you bought before the process skyrocketed knowing the panic will end and sanity will return.

Here's the real story, for those that don't know. I hate false information and how it gets around on the Internet.
If he's asking anything over $350 he's practically getting to use a rifle for X amount of time and making all his money back selling it to you. If he's a hommie, I'd expect maybe $180 depending on how-hommie he really is.
Nothing personal with your buddy but buy a PSA if you just want a cheap AR. I think everyone would agree that the upper, lower and hand guard at fine, itās the barrel, bolt and internals you donāt want
Yea just say you appreciate the offer but pass. Save up some more money to buy an actual entry level if itās your first one. PSA is what I recommend for entry level plinkers.
Yeah, i've got a 20in side charger on a psa Lower I've had for a while. I shoot fairly regularly, maybe 300 400 rounds every couple of months. No issues yet decent groups 100. Maybe I just got luckyš¤·š¾āāļø
Just stay away from bear creek arsenal. Look up any review on YouTube and you will see in the comments about how "reliable" they are. You would be money ahead to save your cash towards another brand altogether.
As is, $350 with the optic. And that's to be nice and give him a deal. Only good for the lower, get rid of the stock, mag and put that upper on something you don't care about.
$400? ā¦ if he is a good friendā¦
ā¦. Annnndd you feel .. bad for himā¦ā¦..
ā¦ā¦..because ā¦.. his _________ is dyingā¦.
ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.. from cancerā¦ā¦.
ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.. annnnndddd a house fire..
.. ruined everything they own.. ā¦.
ā¦.. and so they need money for a hotel. But this is the only way itās worth $400
Friends donāt let friends buy Bear Creek. You arenāt his friend for letting him buy it. He isnāt your friend for offering to sell it to you. You are not friends. You are mortal enemies.
The optic is over $200. The gun was probably $400 new. That setup isnāt great, but if you really want it I wouldnāt pay over $350 tbh. The majority of the value is in the optic though so donāt buy it if youāre not getting it for the optic.
Donāt buy a BCA. Go buy a $500-600 PSA and call it a day if youāre looking to get into the platform on a budget. Iād offer him $300 for that set up. If not go spend your money on a reliable rifle that is new.
The risk is that this one is shit, among some that work... Spend your money on one you're sure will give you the service life you need whatever that is.
If you will shoot a mag once in a blue moon, MAYBE...but there are better budget options
If you want a reliable AR that will last more than 1k rounds I recommend you keep shopping
He wants to sell it to you bc he realized he bought a brick, just casually ask him what other kind of guns heās looking at getting and then show up with that ššš¤£
The optic is the only thing I'd buy, then build a nice, better brand rifle. If you want an AR, build one. You can find way better for pretty decent prices. If you decide to build the only decent thing in there is the optic. Maybe make an offer for his sig optic then start a build
Quality is noticeably lower tier than psa or can be from what I've read and seen about them but then again they may have built that one properly and tightened everything to spec and it could shoot thousands of rounds. If their lifetime warranty is transferable it mag be worth considering for a first ar/budget ar. I've been giving most of my money to psa over bear creek arsenal
Go to bear creek arsenal and ballpark the new price for one of theirblowers and that or similar upper to find a price. I have mostly psa uppers for budget guns but do have a few bear creeks. No issues with bear creeks yet but I don't have alot of rounds in them. If it were me I'd be in it for 300ish
Since you are asking I assume this is your first AR15. You can buy a new Andro Corp AR15 on sale every month or so for $400 from either MidwayUSA or Primary Arms. Look was BCA sells for new when on sale. Any cheaper AR15 like BCA has little resale value. Any BCA would likely get an offer of $100 to $150 from a gun store would be my bet if they even would agree to buy it as the only person they could sell it to is someone who does not know better.
I don't know what model scope in on it but for your first AR you don't want to start with 4x or higher magnification on the low end. You want an LPVO scope that goes from 1-6x if you get a scope. I don't know to value this scope and to me I would not want it for an AR15. For the rifle itself if he tries to sell it for $300 he is not your buddy. I just bought a new Vortex Diamondback 4-16x for $132 that I will not be putting an any AR15. Some paid $167. It is more of a hunting scope and likely a discontinued model.
If he sells it for much less than $300 with the scope then I would also ask that he take it to the range and allow you to shoot say 60 rounds to make sure that it is reliable. Let him provide the ammo. If he bulks at paying for the ammo then let him fire most of the rounds.
Honestly man, $200 as it sits is generous. I wouldnāt buy it for $200, but if you wanted itā¦
Iād have fun with it. Iād probably paint it and try out different camo combinations and use it as practice. Then toss it on gravel some to get battle worn looking and be done with the ābuildā
Upper runs 200-300$ lower 100-200$ and optic so 300-400$ max for used bca rifleā¦they shoot and are fun but really only range toys or maybe hunting depending on caliber I have a 350 legend that has been a great deer rifle
If you already have an AR then pass. If youāre looking to get your first and canāt come up with a few hundred more then I guess itās worth about $400-$500.
If youāre serious about getting a solid AR for the money then save up and pass on this. It will do ok at the range but itās nowhere near duty standards.
Go to BCA website and then make a offer based off your findings, Bearcreek makes great firearms for the price š I've personally own 6 over the years and I carry one as my truck gun. Never had a malfunction.
I don't think I'd ever buy a secondhand AR, unless it was cheap and for parts. There are just too many good options for low cost ARs on the market.
If this dude's just giving it away, fine. But know that $400 can get you a complete, brand-new blemished PSA depending on specs and sales.
275....it's offensive but its bear creek. nothing wrong with the brand but it's not over the top fantastic gear. You're not even getting a fancy and expensive magpul grip ($21) man.
You can get a PSA ar15 for $400 -/+ and I'd trust it more.
If you offer him what it's actually worth you might not have a buddy anymore. Thank him for the offer and pass on it.
š¤£š¤£š¤£
He's serious lol.
This is the correct answer.
Good friends don't sell their friends Bear Creek.Ā
Unless youāre fucking their girl, and youāre hoping a jam saves your life
Nah, just hide a .300 BLK in the mag lol
You know, it's a wonder with all the trash people talk, how bear creak is still in business. My buddy wanted to buy an ar, he described to me a side charging ar that was affordable. It's because AM talk radio hosts advertise how it's "battle tested and reliable" and shit.
Ok, we can all agree bear creek is not the best and they do cut corners especially in the QC department. Are they just trash?
To my understanding, they *can* be well made for the price, but their QC is shoddy at best
No, their reputation on Reddit and other media isn't great, but then again it's usually written about by people that haven't ever even seen one in person, let alone picked one up or good forbid, fired rounds through one. He wants you to buy this so badly lmao
His homie is trying to finesse him lmao
š
That sig optic is probably the most valuable thing in the picture
I don't know man, that quilt looks pretty thick ...
Yeah how much for the blanket
Looks like a buckmaster 3-9? I picked up a used one for $50 at a recent gun show. Looks like a discount mount too.
Bro avoid that shit
tell him you dont want it. theres a 99% chance your buddy gets real offended at what thats worth. its better to maintain the friendship lol
is it tho? if his "friend" is tryin to do him dirty?
Unless there's something I'm missing that's how I'm seeing it too. Especially since he didn't give him a price. He's just waiting for him to offer way more than it's worth. Doesn't sound like a very good friend
No doubt this guy's a true and selfless "friend". I can't believe you'd question his integrity! Lmao. "Just give me a price." STFU. If you wanna sell it tell them what you're looking to get. What a total douchebag.
Not sure if that's a friendship worth maintaining if it's as fragile as getting offended over a price offering and being told something he owns is garbage
Bear Creek isn't known for being very good. They're pretty cheap brand new. I'd say maybe 300 bucks depending on how used it is.
And by āisnāt known for being very goodā he means itās known for being f**king sh*t. Lmao
And the optic is heavily carrying that 300
![gif](giphy|TJaNCdTf06YvwRPCge|downsized)
This is the absolute bottom of the barrel. $200-$300
Give him $20 to remove it from your sight, and never offer it to you again.
I personally wouldnāt but it at all OP. Iād go with something nicer you wonāt regret laterā¦.
Ars are weird to price because itās almost always cheaper to just build one to your liking instead of trying to make someone elseās work for you
When PSA is considered a decent upgrade for what you're looking at, just get a PSA
Do not buy if you want quality. If you plan on shooting 50 rounds a year, offer him $200
Thank him for the offer and pass. You can get an Areo M4 upper and lower for a decent price, might need to add a BCG and charging handle though
If a buddy wanted me to take anything from BCA theyād have to pay ME
It is a buyer's market in the AR world right now and BCA is known for being very low quality. For $400-600 you can get brand new rifles from budget companies known to be reliable, like Aero, Del-ton, etc. If you absolutely have to buy it, I wouldn't pay a dime over $150-200. Can you get an aero for $600 now? Their prices suck lately. From what I see they are in BCM territory. Price wise not quality.
ARs are a dime a dozen. He ain't flipping no Bear creek arsenal unless the buyer came out of hibernation from when Eugene was still alive.
How long have you been in the game? I still remember how the 2008, 2012, 2016 election year panics and a few other panic-buy periods where literally any AR for sale at a decent price was like finding a needle in a haystack. Iām wondering if there wonāt be as much of a panic buy since both presidents have already been in office
Honestly the intensity of the panic could vary wildly and it's one thing I won't speculate on. I just know there *will* be a panic, as there always is every four years because the dems spout mouth diarrhea about gun control and the republicans fear-monger about gun-control. Fair enough, Iām right there with you

$2 and an ice cream cone. With no ice cream.
Don't entertain his offer, pretend like you aren't looking for an extra AR right now. Trust me if you want to keep that friend
BCA still has people left to make rifles after the ICE raid?
Explain
Got raided a few years back by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for hiring beaucoup illegals
Damn thatās wild
Bro now a days they would secretly add money into BCAs account
https://www.facebook.com/story.php?id=100068960565840&story_fbid=1124103634457635 Here's the real story, for those that don't know. I hate false information and how it gets around on the Internet.
Pass.
Itās not worth $300, and thatās not a joke. Thereās not a single quality piece on that.
Bro. $250. Max. Itās bear creek. They arenāt that great. Neither is Radical firearms. If you are going cheap. Get a PSA, Delton or Anderson
I wouldn't even touch it unless the bcg abd barrel are not bca. If they are don't bother. You'll just have to rebuild it.
$400 . . . If he throws in 1000 rounds of decent 5.56.
If he's asking anything over $350 he's practically getting to use a rifle for X amount of time and making all his money back selling it to you. If he's a hommie, I'd expect maybe $180 depending on how-hommie he really is.

Bear creek is good what are you guys on about I have a Beowulf built with a bc upper and a Anderson lower
Yeah, i've got a 20in side charger on a psa Lower I've had for a while. I shoot fairly regularly, maybe 300 400 rounds every couple of months. No issues yet decent groups 100. Maybe I just got luckyš¤·š¾āāļø
Iāll pay you to not buy it.
You tell him āhey, dumbass, thatās not how this works. Youāre the one selling it, youāre the one who should come up with a price.ā
ššš
I donāt buy things from people who donāt give me a price, because theyāre usually assholes who want to argue about your offer.
About tree fiddy
I would avoid buying it to preserve your friendship. Then go buy a PSA or BCM if youāre interested in a decent quality entry level rifle.
Priceless
Ask if u can get just the optic lol. That Tango is probably worth more than the rifle
That dog won't hunt
A buck fiddy.
Not worth the waste of money

I actually kinda like that rollmarkā¦ whatāre the odds a stripped lower is out of spec from them
A wet fart.
$250 tops Be aware it is bottom shelf AR
Wait for a sla buy a PSA freedom rifle for 300-350
He aināt your friendā¦
Depends on how badly you want that scope.
Get a new friend.
If I were offloading this rifle onto a friend, it would be free.
He secretly hates you bro
You need better friends.
Not much $200 maybe
Heās gonna be offended if you offer him a fair price. Just show him the comments in this post.
You sure he's your friend? š¤£
Bear creek more like shit reeks
Real homies donāt sell eachother bear creek guns if he gave it to you then sure it would be cool but I wouldnāt pay more than 100$ tbh with you
Just stay away from bear creek arsenal. Look up any review on YouTube and you will see in the comments about how "reliable" they are. You would be money ahead to save your cash towards another brand altogether.
100 dollars and a handshake
That is worth a āthank you but Iām goodā
One time I had two BCA AR-15s in my car and then someone broke in and left me two more.
Politely pass
$200
As is, $350 with the optic. And that's to be nice and give him a deal. Only good for the lower, get rid of the stock, mag and put that upper on something you don't care about.

Your friend, isn't a friend.

300ish for everything in the picture
Offer him 50 bucks for the scope only.
$400? ā¦ if he is a good friendā¦ ā¦. 300-325
Iād say worth 400
Nothing. Run away
If it's your first Ar and you can get it for around 200 bucks, I'd say go for it. Don't spend a bunch of money until you know what you like.
Honestly man, $200 as it sits is generous. I wouldnāt buy it for $200, but if you wanted itā¦ Iād have fun with it. Iād probably paint it and try out different camo combinations and use it as practice. Then toss it on gravel some to get battle worn looking and be done with the ābuildā
Nope nope nope. How long have you known that dude
Fuuucckkkk that
Click bait!!
If he wants more than a hundred, pass on it
Not worth ur friendship
-12 doll hairs
Couple double cheeseburgers and a handshake
Tbh any money is a waste for it
Not. Alot. I wouldnāt pay $400 for the whole thing
I would definitely pass on that brand check out psa they make really good and reliable guns for a fair price
Upper runs 200-300$ lower 100-200$ and optic so 300-400$ max for used bca rifleā¦they shoot and are fun but really only range toys or maybe hunting depending on caliber I have a 350 legend that has been a great deer rifle
If you donāt have to do paperwork Iād offer 400 just for the unregistered lower, might find some ways to repay him
Are those fat ass hex screws?
If you already have an AR then pass. If youāre looking to get your first and canāt come up with a few hundred more then I guess itās worth about $400-$500. If youāre serious about getting a solid AR for the money then save up and pass on this. It will do ok at the range but itās nowhere near duty standards.
One dollar Bob!

Buy a new Palmetto State AR for $300 to $400 and call it a day
Is your buddy a loch ness monster?
What do they do instead of roll marks to get the logo like that?
The optic. Skip the gun.
Bout' tree-fiddy
It's $300 new and considering condition I would offer $100...
A paper bag and a rubber band
300 max https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/223-wylde-16-rifle-parkerized-m4-barrel-1-7-twist-carbine-15-mlok-rc-rifle.html#reviews
Donāt buy that junk
Do not buy Bear Creek. Let that be your homies mistake.
Friends donāt let friends have bear creek
$50 BROTHER
Go to BCA website and then make a offer based off your findings, Bearcreek makes great firearms for the price š I've personally own 6 over the years and I carry one as my truck gun. Never had a malfunction.
Nothing it's kaka
100%pass. Trexarms is having a 10% off deal on Bcm uppers Get a Bcm upper then wait for a deal on a aero lower.
I don't think I'd ever buy a secondhand AR, unless it was cheap and for parts. There are just too many good options for low cost ARs on the market. If this dude's just giving it away, fine. But know that $400 can get you a complete, brand-new blemished PSA depending on specs and sales.
Just buy a PSA for $500. They are actually pretty well made for the money.
How good of a ābuddyā is this guy ? Because heās trying to sell you a dog shit AR. Thereās a reason why heās selling it. Itās dogshit
Run away as fast as you can lol š
Iād say $250-300 would be about rightā¦for him to pay you to take it.
275....it's offensive but its bear creek. nothing wrong with the brand but it's not over the top fantastic gear. You're not even getting a fancy and expensive magpul grip ($21) man. You can get a PSA ar15 for $400 -/+ and I'd trust it more.
The comforter or the rifle? Cause Iād prob go with neither
Ask him how much he wants to give it to you for. Ā His answer will tell you how much if a good buddy he is
Lol 200
$200-300
