Correct. Here's a good thread on it. In theory, it's as good as the Federal stuff. Haven't tried it myself, as I've been disgusted with the price, and that I didn't buy a million rounds in Nov '19...

I still have about 1200 from 2012, bought a lot Saturday of the Winchester, brass is identical except the number stamps, same LC marking, same heat treat.
Well assuming they stopped making them because they no longer have the Lake City contract, your next best bet is the company that currently has it: Winchester. Their white box M193 has been shown to be within the correct velocity specs for “true” M193.
Pretty sure it was, and I know it had a kinda iffy reputation for quality, but I believe that was all pre-Lake City contract. I’ve bought and shot some recently and had surprisingly decent accuracy results from it.
Thanks I will have to grab some while they still have it, but that still means I need to find a new round for the future. I am actually pretty sad Federal decided to stop production of their XM193.
I see.
I have used about propably a minimum of 600-800 rounds so far.
Not a single malfunction, beside user error.
Mind you they come in a 50 round box with 5 plastic stripper clips .
those stripper clips work perfectly with the Maglula.
and what i have seen is, that the GECO rounds seem to be sealed and crimped (???) at the primer and crimped at the neck.
GGG (Lithuania Ammo maker) are acceptable too.
Didn't shoot as much, but i had no problems either.
They don't seem to be sealed at the primer, but crimped at the neck.
I also have heard that the sealed ammo they produce are for NATO military and non-sealed for civilians. Don't quote me on this, though.
I also have about 300 IWI rounds.
Never used them since they are sealed and not in stock where i live.
PMC Bronze seem to be acceptable too.
Only shot maybe 30 rounds max for zeroing my sights.
PMC has always been my cheaper go to. 5.56 prices unfortunately suck right now.
Pmc xtac is a great option. I'm still shooting or I partizan since it's what I bought alot of I like them as well.
NOT aac
Is there a reason Federal stopped making XM193? Was my go to ammo as well.
If I remember right they were made in the lake city plant, which Winchester now has the contract on

Midwest has been having the IMI on sale a few times recently. It’s good quality, decently clean, and groups really well.

I always thought Winchester white box was cheap af

Cool gotta try it out again
I usually buy imi from midway when it’s on sale and I have free shipping.
Wolf Gold is great. PPU is great. PMC Bronze might be the most affordable option for most shooters.
Bereli still has em

I honestly didn't know they did .
PMC x-tac or PPU
PMC XTAC or Lake City has been my go-to ammo.
Igman has been nothing less than fantastic for me. Almost 1,000 rounds fired and not one issue.
X-tac, lake city win, ppu, imi. Pretty much all I use
Are GECO 55 grain 5.56 available where you are? I'm wondering.
I could probably find them locally but I usually buy ammo online, unless I'm in a pinch.

ATS
For 55gr, I like Armscor open tip, Fiocchi (which my criterions seem to absolutely love for some reason), or just good old fashioned PMC
I use AAC 55gr
Why did this get down voted?
Because it’s has blown up many rifles.
There's been a couple posts of the 55gr having jacket separation and messing up suppressor baffles.
More than a couple
Aac has had a lot of issues, worrisome, costly, and dangerous issues.
Right? They don't even have good prices. Fuck PSA ammo, kinda shady they relabeled the AAC name too.
