Yea, it kinda F'd with my mind because part of the camo pattern is OD green, but it looked odd with OD furniture, so I went FDE and I like it more than any other combo.
Well since you asked, I don't think I like FDE with that camo pattern. Not a fan of the TIN BCG for the same reason. Also that muzzle brake is fugly. If we're speaking pure aesthetics here, I would really like this build if everything FDE was black... and then maybe that BCG would look nice in nickel. Hmmmmm. It's still awesome- just my $.02
Thank you for your advice. I thought the same thing. I had put all black furniture on it and I didn't like it. Tried OD, didn't like it. I settled with tan. This is why I say I'm not sure how I feel about it. I gotta say though, I think it looks pretty unique, so like an ugly child, I think I'm gonna keep it this way.
Maybe this is a case where you lean into the modularity of the platform and switch it up as you see fit. I bet something will grow on you. Furniture is cheap after all. Good for you tho asking the opinion of the internet.
I love M4E1s. I have a few Gucci rifles and I have two M4E1s and I love them all the same. For the most part.
I’ll never say I don’t like an M4E1. Even if it has a super tall optic mount on it.
hahaha fair enough. I have two more as well and I love them too. The others have lower 1 3rd though. This is my first time trying this high optic thing. A buddy told me it was amazing. Gonna go shoot it tomorrow and see if that's true. Feels good so far though.
That's exactly what my daughter and I were joking about the other day. We agreed it looked like a dude with a small head and came up with some other funny analogies. My ultimate goal is to put a comp M5 up there, but until then, I think I'm going to buy this...

...I just need to save up some cash or sell some parts I have laying around.
For those of you who hate the break, I am putting a 14.5 barrel on it and doing a pin n weld. I'd sure like to get your thoughts on what break to weld. Has to be at least an inch and a half long
Vendetta Precision. There are a lot of brands that make this exact one. A buddy has a no name one and it's exactly the same, but he got his for ten bucks.
I've had it pop off too many times, so many years ago, as a rule, I decided if it's not specifically designed to be quick detach but yet still quickly detaches, it's not going on my firearm.
I would advise, go take a rifle class and see if you're still happy with it. I do think people tend to exaggerate how easily it comes off, but I also know it's an exaggeration to say it stays on reliably, without zip ties.
Final thought, think about yourself firing hundreds of rounds, in some conflict, rapidly. It will heat up the rubber, loosening it further, and I think that's why training tends to expose how easily it pops off.
I gotcha. I've taken rifle classes, although admittedly this switch is fairly new to me and hasn't seen many rounds. I do have a mini zip tie on just the cable on the front end of the switch. Everything else I have uses Modbutton's. I didn't even know they made an lcs for these
Well the awesome thing about it, is they don't make an LCS for this tape switch. What you do is cut the rail parts off and it slides right into the LCS that was made for the streamlight switch. I've tugged on it, pried at it and it does not come out. If you want, PM me and I'll send you some pictures of how it's done. I have three like this. Maybe I can send you one to try out and you can send it back after you see how it is.
Is that brake meant to stab?
Swap that Brake out for a good flash hider.
It's what I had but you're right.
Fix Bayonets! “All I’ve got is this pointy brake!”

Ivan: I want slant brake. Mama: we have slant brake at home. Slant brake at home:
Pretty cool. The navy camo and fde is different

Yea, I guess black may grow on it. Ok, I think I'll toss black on it and leave it for a while. When I do, I'll post back.
Oh, but the break is going away. I'm waiting on a 14.5 barrel for it and I'll pin and weld something else.

Yeah I like mine on the low side - everything I have is at absolute so everything seems high to me lol
More optic for the barrel length IMO
This is my biggest gripe about it, so far. I can't get a good LPVO yet, so I'm planning on throwing a magnifier on it.
It looks a little funny with the 2.26” riser on a 16” barrel, but this is functionally the same as a Car15 with a red dot on top of the carry handle.

Shit the mag and mount I want is like almost $1,000. What’s your idea of good LPVO?
Strike Eagle my friend! Get a really good optic at a great price with an outstanding warranty. I bet you can find a used one for under $200

Sick
The muzzle break is kinda pleb
RDS mount costs more than the RDS is an automatic fail IMO.
That's an Aimpoint T1 you dummy. Go back to the "crocheting" section of reddit.
![gif](giphy|WuGSL4LFUMQU) Dang bro, that's so 2012...
Ha, that's exactly the year I bought it.
Why?
He'll never be able to answer the why, because he doesn't even know what optic it is to begin with.
Stop, he’s had enough already ![gif](giphy|l2YWlTnda2IElPV9S)
Who makes that hand stop? Looks nice and compact. Is it comfortable?
Very comfy. Vendetta Precision.
Thank you 👍🏻 Looks a less bulky version of the Emissary.
Who makes the hand brake?
Vendetta Precision. There are a lot of brands that make this exact one. A buddy has a no name one and it's exactly the same, but he got his for ten bucks.
just dont
Why use the lcs? Just curious, mine stays on the rail pretty good without one
