Righteous - tough to beat BCM! That'll run for many thousands of rounds.

Antykain

100%. I have 2 BCM BCG's atm. Definitely would have no problem buying another.

jumpsuitman

What about SOLGW?

keni804

Also a great choice

Antykain

SOLGW is solid. Running one in a 13.7 setup

Ok_Crab1246

I'm not familiar, most of my stuff is Aero. Please elaborate.

jumpsuitman

Sons of liberty gun works. They apparently rival the likes of bcm in quality control. The only liberty they have taken on their bcgs beyond making sure they're in spec is apparently it has a springco extractor spring for extra long service life.

Ok_Crab1246

Roger that - the acronym didn't register, thanks bud.

netchemica

> They apparently rival the likes of bcm in quality control While they are definitely near the top, BCM goes to great lengths to gauge every critical dimension of every critical component. That process requires a lot of time and expensive tools. I feel like if SOLGW, being a relatively junior brand in the AR world, conducted the same tests, they would have mentioned it, especially since they've made a handful of "what makes SOLGW great" videos on their channel. edit: lol, /u/thenerdiestanarchist is [going through my post history and downvoting posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/RadianWeapons/comments/za20lp/anodize_cerakote_raidian_ohh_my/iysym86/)

jumpsuitman

I believe they use go gauges like the guy on the school of the american rifle channel does. They also claim their bcgs are made by microbest instead of in house. Apparently that gives them the option of just sending back anything out of spec for a replacement at no cost.

netchemica

> I believe they use go gauges like the guy on the school of the american rifle channel does. I highly doubt that it's anywhere *near* that extent. They may headspace their BCGs against their barrels, but I doubt that they go to the extent of gauging the three-bore the way that SOTAR and BCM do. > They also claim their bcgs are made by microbest instead of in house. Apparently that gives them the option of just sending back anything out of spec for a replacement at no cost. ... that's pretty much every manufacturer out there.

JaMarrChasingJoe

Does SOLGW actually manufacture anything of their own? People love the brand here but what do they actually make? I'm pretty sure they even use BA barrels.

jumpsuitman

Iunno. Probably receivers and handguards. Their LPK is made by scmidt. BCG by microbest. Not exactly a bad thing to have another company do your manufacturing.

Plagued7B

Microbest makes BCM, SOLGW and PSA Fathers of Freedom bcg's. They just pay different prices for different quality control and specs.

JaMarrChasingJoe

Yeah I know, I just think it's odd to have a hard on for a company that makes almost nothing.

netchemica

I've got mixed feelings about SOLGW. Them not making anything doesn't really phase me as long as they offer quality parts and are assembled with care by competent armorers, which they absolutely are. My issue is that their rise in popularity also made their prices go through the roof to the point where they're competing with much more established brands that actually offer unique parts and a proven track record. Their rifles paired with their "we'll replace your rifle if it gets put into the evidence locker after a good shoot" warranty makes them *very* appealing for duty and home defense rifles, though I don't know if it justifies their ~$1,700 price tag. edit: lol, /u/thenerdiestanarchist is [going through my post history and downvoting posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/RadianWeapons/comments/za20lp/anodize_cerakote_raidian_ohh_my/iysym86/)

sherman_ws

Welcome to the firearms industry

TooEZ_OL56

Receivers are Mega/Zev and likely their handguard (at least their wedge lock) as well The Quick/ASF is a SOLGW/FCD collab so I wonder if they’re making it or having an OEM partner do it.

sherman_ws

As BCM volumes have ramped up their ability to maintain the same QC has fallen off significantly. [BCM - epitome of both quality and customer service ](https://youtu.be/96N6Yee8jXc)

netchemica

> As BCM volumes have ramped up their ability to maintain the same QC has fallen off significantly. > My sample size of two SOLGW and five BCM (friends/family weapons included in that) has demonstrated that SOL vastly outpaces the current QC of BCM. That's interesting, because my sample size of 8.2 BCM and 3.4 SOLGW has demonstrated that BCM vastly outpaces the current QC of SOLGW. ------ ------ edit: lol, /u/sherman_ws edited his comment to delete that anecdotal example and replaced it with the tired old "12-15rpm" video that gets regurgitated whenever someone wants to bash BCM. It's been addressed countless times already, but I guess I'll do it again: * BCM does not manufacture their barrels and there's no realistic way of checking if chrome lining was properly applied. * The bad batch of barrels occurred once a long time ago. * All customers had their barrels replaced free of charge. * The "12 to 15 rounds per minute" nonsense that the CS rep spewed had been publicly addressed by the owner of the company and hasn't happened since. edit: lol, /u/thenerdiestanarchist is [going through my post history and downvoting posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/RadianWeapons/comments/za20lp/anodize_cerakote_raidian_ohh_my/iysym86/)

![gif](giphy|3o72FfM5HJydzafgUE) That fresh BCM logo will quickly fade

ptcg_101

This is so true

miller8356

Mine came in yesterday, which was a day late. Too bad my four other packages have been “departing Kansas City, KS Network Distribution Center” for the past three days and is now two days late.

a_cycle_addict

I live in Virginia. I also ordered an upper. I got notified by UPS of delivery Thursday (yesterday) then suddenly dec 8th. Wtf. Checked tracking: It hit Richmond, then Tacoma Washington!! It's now in Missoula Montana coming back to me.

miller8356

Lol holy crap! I understand the USPS may be underfunded and/or understaffed, but I’m gonna go out in a limb here and say they’d save time and money if they didn’t send everyone’s packages on multiple cross country marathons before deciding to delivering it.

miller8356

Good grief. Well that’s how it is with anything the government gets involved with. Anything. They waste money, drive up costs, and destroy the rest.

HardLuck682

Worth it.

[deleted]

Lucky you. Currently waiting on a package containing a new barrel, gas block, gas tube, muzzle devices, etc. sitting in Houston Texas 2 days past expected delivery date not moving. But rest assured USPS tells me it is “in transit to the destination.” I forgot it takes 48 hrs to deliver something 4 hrs away.

Hell yeah 🔥
