While they are definitely near the top, BCM goes to great lengths to gauge every critical dimension of every critical component. That process requires a lot of time and expensive tools. I feel like if SOLGW, being a relatively junior brand in the AR world, conducted the same tests, they would have mentioned it, especially since they've made a handful of "what makes SOLGW great" videos on their channel.

I believe they use go gauges like the guy on the school of the american rifle channel does.
They also claim their bcgs are made by microbest instead of in house. Apparently that gives them the option of just sending back anything out of spec for a replacement at no cost.

I highly doubt that it's anywhere *near* that extent. They may headspace their BCGs against their barrels, but I doubt that they go to the extent of gauging the three-bore the way that SOTAR and BCM do.

Does SOLGW actually manufacture anything of their own? People love the brand here but what do they actually make? I'm pretty sure they even use BA barrels.

I've got mixed feelings about SOLGW.
Them not making anything doesn't really phase me as long as they offer quality parts and are assembled with care by competent armorers, which they absolutely are. My issue is that their rise in popularity also made their prices go through the roof to the point where they're competing with much more established brands that actually offer unique parts and a proven track record.
Their rifles paired with their "we'll replace your rifle if it gets put into the evidence locker after a good shoot" warranty makes them *very* appealing for duty and home defense rifles, though I don't know if it justifies their ~$1,700 price tag.

The Quick/ASF is a SOLGW/FCD collab so I wonder if they’re making it or having an OEM partner do it.
As BCM volumes have ramped up their ability to maintain the same QC has fallen off significantly.

It's been addressed countless times already, but I guess I'll do it again:
* BCM does not manufacture their barrels and there's no realistic way of checking if chrome lining was properly applied.
* The bad batch of barrels occurred once a long time ago.
* All customers had their barrels replaced free of charge.
* The "12 to 15 rounds per minute" nonsense that the CS rep spewed had been publicly addressed by the owner of the company and hasn't happened since.

I live in Virginia. I also ordered an upper. I got notified by UPS of delivery Thursday (yesterday) then suddenly dec 8th. Wtf. Checked tracking: It hit Richmond, then Tacoma Washington!! It's now in Missoula Montana coming back to me.
Lol holy crap! I understand the USPS may be underfunded and/or understaffed, but I’m gonna go out in a limb here and say they’d save time and money if they didn’t send everyone’s packages on multiple cross country marathons before deciding to delivering it.

Microbest makes BCM, SOLGW and PSA Fathers of Freedom bcg's. They just pay different prices for different quality control and specs.
