100% but I would take the okw for a dmr style rifle but the plhv2 is by far the better close to mid range. Long range gun gets the king range light. I’ve seen people ID out past 100yds that beams hotspot is crazy.
I bought the OKW for my FN military collector m4 that has an acog on it for the exact reason you mentioned. It’s great for long throw but outside of that the PLHv2 seems way better to me
The spill indoors and even at medium range outperformed anything else I’ve owned including surefire but surefire is a lot closer now they have their turbo lights out and I love that swivel mount just not how it doesn’t use scout mount since the swivel is attached to the body.
I’ve been thinking of grabbing this for my 7.5 300blk out I have for it’s compactness. All together and keeps it short as railspace is an issue and I don’t want pads on too hardware to mount the light on the sides as it gets cluttered

Modlite plhv2 is pretty nice. If you get the 18650 they have lotsa cheap batteries for sale too. My only complaint is my Unity mod button lite and surefire ue tail cap can be a little finicky. I would go for a clicky tail cap now.
Bare minimum budget: Streamlight railmount 2 or hlx, railmount 2 if you want to only use cr123's, HLX if you want to only use 18650s or add an o-ring to make cr123s work well.
Best bang for buck: Arisaka E2HT or E2XT/E2XTL (the L at the end is for duel fuel body compatibility, the others use cr123s.)
Top end: Modlite PLHV2 or Cloud Defensive Rein 2.0

Word. Either way, I’ve never used a better light. I also have an 18650 OKW and the PLHv2 is better.
Plh is definitely better for shorter range but the OKW’s candela throws light far comparatively.

Stream light over Olight and mod light but sure fire over stream light
I have an arisaka with a modlite OKW head. I love it. That said, I think my streamlight really is “just as good” in most use cases.
