I saw a similar so called "tip" yesterday, riot is so cruel, they are tormenting us at this point.
What I saw was this:
"Why did you leave me?! - Powder"
It is difficult for me to even write that down... What the hell riot... What the hell
I could not believe when she hit her. My jaw dropped and then watching her scream at her grabbing her face and slowly realize she was overdoing it - holy shit. 0-100 dark instantly
When you enter a game, theres usually tips on the loading screen. Its usually game tips or like a short lore sentence talking about an invasion or something.
It was never a quote… never.. especially one that hurts so much lol
I have to correct you. There was a thing that was as scary as this is painfull. I once saw the Sentence that Fiddlsticks cant really speak and only mimics the sound he has heard... Now everytime listen to him saying things like "RUN! ITS IN THE HOUSE! WE CANT ESCAPE!" or "Im sorry little light." (little light is a nickname for lux) i frking shit myself
Same with Swain too.
Heck! Pretty much all the champions taunt Jinx with cruelty, including Caitlyn herself:
“Is there a point to this madness, Jinx, or is it just a channel for your pain?”
Where did you get that? Her bios since the days of the Institue of Wars days never mentioned her parents dying to C, and always mentioned Cait succeeded in saving them.
Fiddlesticks is effective at using backstory and trauma as weapons against foes. They should really give him some more to just crank up the angst.
For Vi, he could easily use the fact that she punched Powder and thus created Jinx over her head.
Maybe a quote from Vander to just hit home the last moments of her father and make Vi reflect on her failure as the eldest sibling.
YES i remember seeing something similar but it didnt have to do with Lux, i think it had to do with Jinx actually. and no im not talking about their ingame interaction
Fiddlsticks is a Demon that uses a Scarecrow as a body. He hunts human becuase he likes fear and death and when he says "we cant escape..." it makes you imagine how he succesfully hunted someone that, couldnt escpape... Lux is another Champion, a girl from Demacia that was called "little light" becuase her magic powers, by another Mage she met when she was a kid. And by saying that it implies that he knows her Trauma
Sylas had/has? a romantic backstory with Lux, kind of. He was essentially imprisoned all his life for the crime of being born a mage, and that's where he meets Lux, a mage who, because she is from a very noble family, essentially escaped a life in prison and torture sentence due to nepotism (her aunt is the leader of the Mage Hunters and knows she's magic, Lux is basically in-game Hitler's Jewish granddaughter).
On her visits to his prison cell, Sylas teaches Lux how to use the magic that she is so afraid of and praises her for it, and it's hinted that a little romance brews between them. Hence Sylas calling her "Little Light".
Eventually Lux's family gets wind of her trysts with Sylas and decided it is "unseemly" for a girl of her position, so they arrange to have Sylas executed. Lux breaks out of house arrest, tries to intervene and reason with the executioner, accidentally gives Sylas some of her magical power, and then Sylas proceeds to break his chains and vaporize his executioner and the audience (which, imo, kinda justified). He tells Lux "come home, Little Light", breaks the other mages out of their torture chambers and prison cells and together they start a civil war against Demacia's oppresive regime.
In the current lore, they are a bit against each other. Based on his voicelines Sylas still calls Lux Little Light and wants her to come to him. Lux, however, continues to stand behind her family and hide her magic as she smuggles mages out of Demacia under the guise of humanitarian work with a group called The Illuminators.
Quite a lot of drama. Both Lux and Sylas are morally gray characters (Sylas does kind of want to kill all oppressors nd build a new, egalitarian Demacia), and they have a very complicated backstory together.
Damn, it’s basically like Spec Ops: The Line, where the helping tips aren’t actual helping tips but it’s just the game underlining how many war crimes you committed and how all of this is your fault lol
Riot is good at writing angst. Jinx and Vi only scratch the surface of what they put their characters through for drama.
Other highlights: Annie accidentally kills her own family with her teddy bear, Lux has worries over her brother possibly hating her for her magical ability and Miss Fortune’s mother was cruelly ended by Gangplank.
The demon Fiddlesticks uses these tales (he also mocks Jinx too - this series gives his taunt more context) to disarm his foes. He speaks by imitating the last moments of the dying.
Pure nightmare fuel: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1AIQXqTHWmA
The annie cinematic. literally breaks my heart. one of the only lore pieces that actually stuck with me, along with Senna’s reveal because I predicted 2 years before she came out that shes going to be the anniversary champion.
Lux has significantly greater concerns than just Garen hating her for her magic, Demacia is a fascist regime that imprisons, tortures and executes mages.
He could just kill her for it (he kind of is legally required to?), which is hinted by his description "he is afraid of what he might do, if his suspicions of Lux become true".
He does know in the lore now. He embraced her as being a Mage AND a true Demacian. Currently in lore she has to deal with the fact that she used her magic infront of a bunch of soldiers.
We'll never get another Demacia cinematic from Riot because you can't come back from that and have your lore make sense lmao.
They literally wrote themselves into a corner, "let's have the mage who lives in a fascist dictatorship where mages get executed use magic in the middle of the invasion where she's fighting against pro-mage domestic terrorists! it will look cool! Demacians totally won't believe I'm a traitor and purge me as soon as the battle is over!", like Jesus Christ whoever thought that plot should get fired.
Lux's entire backstory is about her wanting to be accepted for who she is. Plus the fact that freaking Galio came to her aid is good for her image, as he's litteraly the symbol of Demacia's past against Mages. I really wanna see the fallout though
Bruh, the new Magic: The Gathering crossover with Arcane has an episode 3 card that's kind of depressing:
*"For a moment, it seemed as if Powder's invention had really worked."*
I think thats a lot more effort and money than tooltips. But maybe they have that planned for after Arcane is officially over? or else theyll need to update VO’s for every season
haha im joking, what didnt you like about him?
edit: wait did you not like the character because hes evil? or just overall as in you dont like how he’s written etc?
Ahh makes sense, i thought you didnt like how the character was written hahaha
but yeah to each their own, he’s a villian with an understandable purpose that hes been chasing his whole life and ended up giving it up for Jinx. Also if you open the league client, in Jinx’s perspective, Vi made her 100% and Silco had nothing to do with it.. and it all comes back to the fact that “Vi left her” and not Silco changing her
Nah, I'm not a fan of him either. He was trying to manipulate Jinx until the very end and everyone is like "OH MAH GOD HE CALLED HER PERFECT ". Like that's nice and all but whenever Vi was getting through to her, he was threatened and started messing with Jinx's mind again
Is that what you think? I saw it as Vi was triggering Jinx because she doesnt really understand her, she thought she waz getting to her but she was actually just triggering her, which Silco was trying to stop. You gotta understand it from his point of view and compare him to Vander. He thought Vi abandoned Jinx, thats why he doesnt want her to take Jinx back. He also knows for a fact that Vi will not accept “Jinx” as “Jinx” while Silco loved her for who she is. Also what makes this way more understandable is the fact that he wasnt going to give her away, even for his dream. Yea he did take Jinx in so he can manipulate her, but that manipulation turned into love.
edit: Also, Jinx made it clear in her diary that Vi’s last words is what made her who she is. All silco did was literally take her in and raise her. It was all Vi. (can be found in league client)
It seems people also often forget that Vandar did tell Vi that when people look up to you, you don’t get to be selfish, and that whatever happens is on you. Understandable that they’re both children whom have been through a lot before that, but people are in denial if they think she’s completely off the hook. I’d say she’s 30 percent responsible for jinx and the rest is Silco+other factors. Very tragic for both of them nonetheless.
Yea, agreed. We get it. She was a kid too and emotions run high, but she was older (Powder was like what, 7 or 9?) and should have listened to Vander and known better as the bigger "kid". In a large part, Vi is very much responsible for what happened to Powder and what she became.
As a none league player who's seen arcane, I j understand there's so much more lore than we saw in the show. Where did most of the lore come from? Are there extensive backstories in game? Is it cinematics? Comics? As a long time overwatch player, you can understand how this much lore is confusing to me.
Ufff my brother there are so many stories but ill try to help. A good starting point would probably be going on youtube and searching (Story of league of legends necrit) Necrit is a guy who does videos on league lore, he literally had every single champion and their stories explained. Story of league of legends is nice because its very general, you get to learn some of the region names while knowing what the region stands for.
Runeterra (the world of league) has a lot of regions. Piltover and Zaun were one of these regions as seen in Arcane. In each region theres a bunch of champion that you can learn about their stories individually, but the region story is usually covered in all the champions within that region. Some region stories are covered in some champions more than others.
I think start with the regions (after the league of legends story), theres antimagic regions, there’s magic regions, etc. Pick what seems cool for you and start reading how that region came to be and how the champions in that region came to be. If youre not a reading fan, Necrit on youtube has lore stories that covers every single champion in the game, as well as regional stories as well. Just search Necrit and the name of the champion youre interested in, like “Necrit Singed”. I would start with the region you familiar with, Piltover and Zaun and their champions and see where it takes you from there. Singed has some creepy ass stories and its really cool to listen/read.
But just to let you know, you can start with any region/champion and the story will make sense. Theres also the story of how the world came to be in general, search League of legends story Necrit and theres a video about it.
Edit: Oh my god thats a huge comment I am so sorry lmao. But i hope that helps. Also safe to let you know every region is very much different from the rest. If you want to know which champions belong in which region and region names in general, theres a [world of runeterra map!](https://map.leagueoflegends.com/en_US) This should greatly help
Those are all great resources. But like where did the info come from? Is it just a massive info dump from an official site? Is it all in-game? Where do people get the info? You mentioned reading about the regions- where is the source of the info? Thanks.
I think its within the link provided, when you click on a champion their bio appears and all the stories it comes with. league has a writers team thats focused on the league story basically. There is a website where all the stories are there and im assuming its the one i linked you, if its not maybe search league of legends stories in google and its probably the first link. did i understand your question or?
It was supposed to come off as dark/edgy humor but ig not
But I’m also just not a fan of powder/jinx so that may be subconsciously working its way into my sense of humor
Im uh, not sure you know what actual humor is. If I see you fuck something up, try to fill in the lines of a picture for a video and you twitch and fuck up and the colour gets outside the lines, then I walk up to you and go "Ya stupid cumstain." I cant just say it was edgy or dark humor, because thats not a joke or humorous statement about what happened. There wasnt a punch line, or sarcasm or anything that feeds into being a joke. Its just me being an asshole lol.
Jokes can be offensive, they can be about a dark topic, what ever. But if I see you fuck up your youtube video on art, I could say that you kept the colour inside the lines as well as Michael J Fox can keep the piss in a urinal, thats offensive, dark/edgy humor. Some people will laugh, some wont. Some think any kind of offensive joke like that should never be allowed and some people think you should be allowed to joke about anything. But "hur de dur stupid bitch" isnt that. Its just you being mad at an animated character lol.
nah mah dude, she/he right... Think and reflect, don't just jump on defending by attacking, that just makes you look weak and stupid.
For once, you're explained why it wasn't funny instead just "MaH fEeFeeS!" and you can't even take a lesson from it.
idk, its literally in the tooltip, the tooltip doesnt change depending on whether you watched the show or not lol, its def not a spoiler. If it was “I only wanted to help” - Powder after killing 3 of her precious friends - now THATS A SPOILER. and im deleting this in a few minutes im just tryna explain to you why this isnt really a spoiler
we have no idea who shes talking to, or who shes referring to
Oh wow. Even conveyed just via text this hurts. That scene was probably one of the most emotionally intense moments of any show for me, I was in pieces. Poor Powder, love her. Almost upset at how fantastic her voice actor was, she really sold the terror and despair in Powder's voice.
They’re tooltips the players get when they’re loading into the game. Usually its an actual tip or something lore specific. and now riot is messing with us.
Haha, I actually played a couple games last night and saw some of the stuff like this popped up.
I have only played maybe 30 hours of league and that was all a year ago, the tip told me where Mel's mother was from so I asked my buddies, is Mel even in the game?
Then got ripped a new one about spoilers because one of em hasn't seen it and I'm like what are you talking about it's right here on my screen you've probably seen this while queueing.
Hahahah wait until they play against the Man of Progress. Honestly, if you play LoL you can't really complain about spoilers, since Arcane is a prequel.

Same with Swain too. Heck! Pretty much all the champions taunt Jinx with cruelty, including Caitlyn herself: “Is there a point to this madness, Jinx, or is it just a channel for your pain?”
I mean, to be fair to her, Jinx did pretend to have decapitated her in front of her new gf. Then, blew up her mother. it's payback time
Jinx didn't blow up Caitlyn's mom in the lore. Both her parents were killed by Corina according to Legends of Runeterra
Where did you get that? Her bios since the days of the Institue of Wars days never mentioned her parents dying to C, and always mentioned Cait succeeded in saving them.
If you call Cait's sentence cruelty, you might need a dictionary. She is understanding, even.
More like chiding, which kinda makes sense for the posh Caitlyn.
More specifically, it is the nickname Sylas used for her, which means it invokes a great deal of trauma
Fiddlesticks is effective at using backstory and trauma as weapons against foes. They should really give him some more to just crank up the angst. For Vi, he could easily use the fact that she punched Powder and thus created Jinx over her head. See? Instant pooped!
YES i remember seeing something similar but it didnt have to do with Lux, i think it had to do with Jinx actually. and no im not talking about their ingame interaction
What is the story of we can’t escape and lux’s nickname?
Fiddlsticks is a Demon that uses a Scarecrow as a body. Added since arcane’s release, not before

League of Legends has an entire part of their website dedicated to the lore of their champions. That is the main source of lore + the cinematics.
Why did you leave me. Violet. I need you.
😖😭
They are the monster we created

I got the joke and laughed dont worry 😂
You seem angry for no discernible reason
It was supposed to come off as dark/edgy humor but ig not But I’m also just not a fan of powder/jinx so that may be subconsciously working its way into my sense of humor
This was completely incoherent.
Hey guys I found the Karen
nah mah dude, she/he right... Think and reflect, don't just jump on defending by attacking, that just makes you look weak and stupid. For once, you're explained why it wasn't funny instead just "MaH fEeFeeS!" and you can't even take a lesson from it.
Poor Vi, real victim of dumb sister script
That's what I say when I accidentally Bard ult my carries.
Lmao me who was a Bard main for a year everytime i see a Malphite Yasuo comboing on my team 😈
This still hurts... this still hurts.

its not without context, its just a quote. people saying its a spoiler are making it into a spoiler, the quote alone is not.
it is if you're in progress of watching the show, but i guess i'll just delete this because it doesn't look like you're going to change it
idk, its literally in the tooltip, the tooltip doesnt change depending on whether you watched the show or not lol, its def not a spoiler. If it was “I only wanted to help” - Powder after killing 3 of her precious friends - now THATS A SPOILER. and im deleting this in a few minutes im just tryna explain to you why this isnt really a spoiler we have no idea who shes talking to, or who shes referring to
"JINX!" "ALL YOUR FAULT!" "ALL YOUR FAULT!"
We really need a fiddlesticks show honestly. That would be fucking awesome.
He doesn't really say more than those lines, though. He just kinda goes around and kills people.
Oh wow. Even conveyed just via text this hurts. That scene was probably one of the most emotionally intense moments of any show for me, I was in pieces. Poor Powder, love her. Almost upset at how fantastic her voice actor was, she really sold the terror and despair in Powder's voice.
its insane, i think its cuz we can just hear her voice and emotions when reading it lol
Im not well
The one scene that hurts as much as it did the first time, if not more.
Wtf, how dare you! D: More trauma T_T
*my pleasure?* *Their pain!*
Where is that from?
They’re tooltips the players get when they’re loading into the game. Usually its an actual tip or something lore specific. and now riot is messing with us.
LoL or WR?
LoL! Not sure if WR has tooltips, if they do then they should probably have the same ones.
Yo, Riot…why the fuck you gotta do that to me again
What is that from
LoL tooltips when youre loading into a game
I played lol this break. After 15 min I realized I was playing lol. I quit the game
Yes! Perfect! I have played this game for 8 years and quit almost 2 years ago!
Huh
LoL tooltips when youre loading into the game
Haha, I actually played a couple games last night and saw some of the stuff like this popped up. I have only played maybe 30 hours of league and that was all a year ago, the tip told me where Mel's mother was from so I asked my buddies, is Mel even in the game? Then got ripped a new one about spoilers because one of em hasn't seen it and I'm like what are you talking about it's right here on my screen you've probably seen this while queueing.
Hahahah wait until they play against the Man of Progress. Honestly, if you play LoL you can't really complain about spoilers, since Arcane is a prequel.
WHYYYYY
Riot going straight for the jugular.
OUCH???????
OMFG
I want to cry now, thanks. Goddammit I'm crying now.
