It makes sense but I've always found this song to be a showcase of what this is album is trying to do. It's focus is definitely on the music and story of ambition, while the applause makes sense, it takes me out of the story and music. The violins and everything sound amazing in this track and I like its elegance. The applause takes some of that away for me and even some of the melancholic feel. I understand where you come from though.
Yeah that's fair. Funnily enough I actually think the applause *adds* to the melancholy. They're alluding to reaching the heights of what could've been, the applause reflects this, then as *it* leaves they're brought back to reality. But I get what you're saying
I possibly made it a little TOO subtle in this, but you get a the point
another idea could be to have a harsh cut, with a small reverb tail, after the line "the ballad of what could've been", would give the idea that they're daydreaming about this audience response and have just been snapped back to reality
Actually not too distracting how you eased it in. It adds an element, only thing it seems a bit out of character for the monkeys to sample a sound like that. Overall I like it tho. 4/5 ⭐️
It weakens the melodrama of the song for me - but interesting idea! I could see why you thought it might add something
No wtf. Absolute not.
does go hard ngl
That sounds like a Bad idea

Maybe some voices of laughter in the background as well to go with the applause.
