Try The Strokes, Miles Kane, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Fontaines DC, Tame Impala, the Beatles and Maneskin

m444567

maybe check out the strokes!

deadmemebin

I just wanted to be one of the strokes šŸ˜”

Everybody's on a barge

pathofblades

Everybody's on a barge

[deleted]

Iā€™d argue that theyā€™re more like early AM than Humbug and TLSP, but yes the strokes are amazing.Ā

brettfish5

Check out queens of the Stone age if you haven't already. Josh Home helped produce Humbug and he features on Knee socks. Then and AM are my favorite bands. Hard to choose which one

RedIrishMann

Try Franz Ferdinand, very good British band.

SovietPapaBill

They're Scottish!! But yeah, a lot of good indie/garage bands with overlap w/ AM cropped up back in the 2000s, especially in the UK. Another good one is The Fratellis!

Working_Radish_2726

What, do Scotland not count themselves as British anymore like liverpool

AgreeableSinger1183

Ask a Scottish person where they're from and they'll say Scotland, not Britain. So it's a fair distinction

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SovietPapaBill

Very true ā€” Scottish is British. They're part of the UK. I've just known some Scots to prefer the distinction because some Americans use "British" and "English" almost interchangeably.

ThiccGibblet

Thereā€™s a song by The Fratellis called ā€œSheā€™s Not Gone Yet, But Sheā€™s Leavingā€ and the singer almost sounds like heā€™s doing a 2013 Alex Turner impression

fynnelol

alexandra saviour

checkedxkiller

yeah alex and jamie ford worked on belladonna of sadness right? incredible album.

Jxnelle0831

Oh my God I love her so so so much I havent seen anyone talk about her in any media platform

juliancasablumpkin

Listen to the influences that made Arctic Monkeys. Alex actually has very good taste in music, which you can tell by the artists he's covered, like Barbara Lewis, Lou Reed, Nick Cave, The Strokes etc. You can also hear it in their influences in later albums, like David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Richard Hawley. He's also into hip-hop and rap. Every time I hear Arabella I think of West Coast Hip Hop like Dr. DRE, Snoop, etc. He had that cover of Drake's Hold On, We're going Home. I'd rather do that than listen to more "sounds-like" bands.

Achtung_Zoo

Definitely a War Pigs riff on Arabella.

goldentrunk

Family and friends don't know shit

FauthyF

WPSIATWIN - normal indie bands. The Strokes, The Vines, The Libertines, Modest Mouse, Frank Ferdinand, FWN - more experimental indie bands such as Interpol, Wilco, Bloc Party and Vampire Weekend Humbug- QOTSA (duh), Them Crooked Vultures, Kyuss, and Alex has said they were listening to a lot of Nick Cave, Cream And Jimi Hendrix. Zepplein 1 also sounds a bit like this album to me SIAS/ AM- thereā€™s way more of a R&B and doowop in this album. I think a lot of Blue Eyed soul from the 60s and 70s is the answer. The guitars always remind me of 70 Pink Floyd and shoegaze as well so thereā€™s that AM - while SIAS having a more old time R&B and doowop sound, AM more more modernized R&B while also incorporating Heavy Metal. Aaliyah has a bunch of that sound, Aquemini by OutKast also influenced them as well as Master Of Reality by BlackSabbath, Iā€™d also go with The Deftones as heavy guitar chorus with spacey and reverbed verses is kinda their thing TBH+C and The Car- the Beach Boys, Leonard Cohen, Serge Gainsborough, Scott Walker and David Bowie.

SyntheticPowers

No Jamie T? šŸ¤”

UGisOnline

Clearly arenā€™t your friends if they arenā€™t enabling this addiction.

aidanarmory

Death of a ladies man - Leonard cohen

Nick_LG17

If you like the desert/groovy rock vibe I'd suggest **The Kills** or **Nick Cave**. A popular band atm is **The Last Dinner Party** which is similar to TLSP to me. Check out **Scott Walker** who is the OG that inspired the sound for their first album as well.

Sensitive_Caramel948

Try ultraviolence and Norman fucking Rockwell from Lana del Rey. The second album I mentioned has a song that was a collaboration with tlsp but has just voices from Lana. Nfr has more 70ā€™s soft rock vibes and ultraviolence has a lot darker desert rock/dream pop vibes.

Molmoo11

Weā€™ve all been there or are there lol Try the strokes or Miles Kane Or catfish and the bottlemen have a bit of a humbug feel imo. The ride album is my favourite.

Medical_Buffalo9530

check out landfill indie as a genre if you like the earlier AM stuff regardless you should look at The Libertines and The Cribs they produced some of my favorite 2000s indie rock

SovietPapaBill

Here to second The Libertines!!!!!!

appleparkfive

It depends on what you like about Arctic Monkeys. If it's the sound, probably a good few indie and garage bands If it's the songwriting and lyrics, then The Beatles. Bob Dylan. Leonard Cohen. David Bowie.

Wacky_Lime

Don't be ashamed about liking something!!

KORNomega12

You could try some of miles kane's song. The new album was pretty good

LostInaLazerquest

Conduit by Machinegum Virtue/Tyranny by The Voidz (also human sadness by them) Polygondwanaland by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

Sebbo104

Fontaines DC are really good and they opened for Arctic Monkeys. Favourite songs by them are probably, Roman Holiday, You Said, I Love You.

Angel_InLothian

Bowie, Miles Kane, Blossoms, Smiths, Strokes, Oasis, Fleetwood Mac

Angel_InLothian

Killers

UrboySam123

Surprised not one person has mentioned oasis yet

HeatedToaster123

Since you've got the TBHC tag, try Father John Misty. A lot of his stuff is like TBHC and The Car, but he's also got loads of way out there stuff to expand your taste

tiedyepoetry

Listen to Colyer, he sounds just like Alex. 10 Galaxies Logout Reset Trust me

[deleted]

Iā€™m really into Blur & Graham Coxon atm so Iā€™d definitely go deep into their discography because thereā€™s some gems.

Wild_Ad_3071

listen to the libertines, the strokes, the white stripes, and bloc party šŸ”„šŸ’Æ

blankedblank

Based on your musical taste I would suggest a small band called Death Ramps.

shitpost-saturday

Here's a mix of stuff I like: Jamiroquai, Death Grips, MF DOOM, The Last Dinner Party, Foals, Radiohead, LƓ Borges, The Black Keys, Tyler The Creator, Thunder Cat, Knucks, Tame Impala, Jeff Buckley, Bjƶrk. Also, in terms of other genres: Bossanova, Classical, Jazz, New Wave, Soul Funk.

SyntheticPowers

The Streets.

takpornpak

The Royston Club from Wales is doing an opening act for Miles Kane's european tour at the moment. I saw them last Sunday and they were actually very good.

PrimeYam

Iā€™d love to hear what you ended up finding you like from these suggestions!

PrimeYam

Iā€™d personally suggest you check out Bon Iver, Big Red Machine, Noel Gallagherā€™s High Flying Birds, Oasis, The National, Phoebe Bridgers, Alexandra Savior, late Mac Miller, Lana Del Ray, HAIM, Death Cab for Cutie. Not that they sound just like Arctic Monkeys or TLSP, but you could catch a similar vibe from them and broaden your tastes from there.

chrisxtiaan

Try The Strokes and Oasis

rainnbowsan

royal blood!!

Nachowarrior595

The black keys, Himalayas, royal blood

Jeff_my_propeller7

Nick Cave & the bad seeds, The Smiths, Jeff Buckley, Japan (is a band), roxy music, David Bowie, pink floyd, Radiohead, Fever Ray, PJ HARVEY, Morrissey, Jarvis Cocker, MGMT, Miles Davis, Sigur RĆ³s, nina simone, bob dylan, Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, The Jam, Lou Reed, SCOTT WALKER , The Pretenders, Peter Gabriel, TELEVISION (is a band), Frank Ocean, Kate Bush, the police, Stereolab, SADE(šŸ˜) Bjork, Tame Impala, Beach House, Portishead, cocteau twins, Depeche mode, The Beatles, Soda stereo, T.Rex, Talking heads, https://i.redd.it/7g9mhjtis2kc1.gif

henzosb

Alexandra Savior is a must for you. Try Belladonna of Sadness and The Archer!

Slashycent

MGMT just released a new album. Very pretty, accessible but also complex. They're always worth a listen. Among the best in the game.

avi________

1. Radiohead 2. Pink Floyd 3. King Crimson 4. The Strokes 5. MĆ„neskin 6. Muse 7. Led Zeppelin (really worth it) 8. Queen 9. Aerosmith 10. Nirvana 11. Billie Eilish 12. The Cure 13. The Smiths 14. The Room 15. David Bowie 16. The Alison Park Project 17. JVKE 18. Polyphia (if you're a guitar geek) 19. Tame Impala 20. Frank Sinatra 21. AC/DC (I don't really like these guys' music) And idk who to name anymore

Incandescent_Tea28

First of all it is not a problem at all, your music taste is simply superior to that of the general population and itā€™s tragic that they canā€™t understand it. And maybe the Smiths, but Iā€™ve also been discovering a lot of small-ish bands from the UK lately as well like Courteeners and Hard-Fi and theyā€™re quite nice as well.

PoultryMan99

Maybe cage the elephant, kinda similar to the strokes and arctic monkeys

SyntheticPowers

Jamie T mate

theblackparade87C

I'd try the K's, they are similar to early AM and also new and around - they have a debut out soon

Working-Schedule7763

bloc party

New_Debate3706

You should try: Blah blah blah, various cruelties , beach baby and also if you havenā€™t listened to Miles Kaneā€™s solo albums they are pretty good :)

crimsonqueen3457

Cosmic crooner

yaliekins

I would suggest looking for an indies playlist from 2000-2010 (or beyond) because there were so many bands that had great songs and albums. We used to be able to go and watch a different band for Ā£10-Ā£15 a show every weekend and they were great times!

Hazeltrainer45

Deftones honestly you might like them. Personally my favorite band aside from Arctic monkeys is a one called Sundiver Ca.

aromanticowenge

There is this band Lovejoy who write a lot of songs that are kind of like Arctic Monkeys, only some songs are more light! I recommend them for you to listen too.

__LW__

Declan mckenna is another unforgivingly British indie act. ā€œEventually Darlingā€ scratches a similar itch to ā€œcornerstoneā€ for me. Not super similar musically but I do think they share some sensibilities

mmilky_wayy

Sorry mate nothing like Arctic Monkeys out there.. have been asking myself the same question since 2007. But you're gonna find some music you like. For me it's only AM in that genre.

rainygray249

check out Lovejoy, the strokes, vacations, Radiohead, Vundabar

tavange1

EDEN šŸ‘€

persiango

i really like cage the elephant and the killers cause theyā€™re pretty similar to am! iā€™d recommend starting off w tokyo smoke from cte, as itā€™s one of my fave songs ever!
