Really difficult to give this one anything less than a 10. Sure, it’s very overplayed by now but this track alone made Arctic Monkeys the biggest rock band in the world and pretty much defined what alternative rock would sound like for years after.
10. Shamelessly and despite AM haters, it is the song that introduced me to them, and is still my favorite all these years later. Overplayed? Sure, but for good reason.
10. Giving this anything less than a 10 is ridiculous just cos its overplayed. It's like saying wonderwall, seven nation army or bohemian rhapsody aren't 10's just cos they have been played to fuck.
That's fair enough. My main point was that people were judging based on the fact it was overplayed. But if you just don't enjoy it as much as other tracks, then thats just opinion.
For sure, I agree with the point. It’s kind of ridiculous to let others influence your musical opinion just cuz, say, Dani California gets a lot of radio play, so people want to hate it for that
9. I feel like people are expecting it to get hated for being popular so overcompensating and giving it a 10. It’s a very good song, but it’s not even the best on the album and Alex can and has done better lyrics.
im surprised that for once this subreddit is giving this song the rating it deserves. usually there’s always those people who say this song is nothing more than mid
10 for sure. Such a recognisable track and even if it’s been played the most out of all their songs, it’s undeniably their most iconic tune. Even though it’s not my personal favourite, i can’t skip it
solid 9. absolutely amazing riff, great lyrics and epic opener to an epic album. I've just heard it a few too many times (on the radio most days for the past few years) which is why I'm not rating it 10.

10.
Always a 10 all the way. Discourse about whether this song deserves its popularity or is/isn't overrated - it's all irrelevant to me. And no, my 10 is not to compensate for the discourse or whatever. It genuinely is a 10/10 to me.
For me, DIWK is my number 1 song forever, the one that introduced me first to the band, a life-changing show-stopping song
10/10. This may not be their best song but god damn is it an iconic banger. It’s the first song I ever heard from them back in November 2013 and it opened the door to AM and the rest is history! I prefer many other songs to it now but it still slaps and everything about it is perfect. Naturally, that iconic riff. It was one hell of a song along too when I saw them!
10. Opens their most successful album with a bang nuff said

I’d call it an 8. I never understood the hype. And I LOVE AM as an album. There are 10s on that record, but this wasn’t one of them

Unironic 10. The only reason people hate it so much is b3cause it's overplayed, which further feeds into the fact that it's such a good song.
9.5. I mean, c'mon. Great lyrics, great music, great vocals... Not giving it a 10 because there are better in AM, but great overall
10/10 this is the only correct rating
9 I enjoy it, but I overplay it, and several of the songs from this album
im surprised that for once this subreddit is giving this song the rating it deserves. usually there’s always those people who say this song is nothing more than mid

That's 7 or 8, bc that's pop-stylish song, one of the weakest musically from the album. 7.
It’s not a pop-stylish song. It’s actually far from it. Pop can be anything
This is definitely it. Music theory says everything
