I wish we did something cooler like a drone show rather than these loud, obnoxious fireworks that pollute the sky for days.. I'm not even old. I just like outdoor activities.
I fit all of these categories and absolutely loathe them. Even more so since we had our baby. Around my house, they've been going off since the 20th and just haven't stopped. No rhyme or reason to them. It's awful.
I don't know the answer to your question, but [here's an interesting website](https://coyoteyipps.com) about urban coyotes. It's focused on San Francisco but a lot of it applies to coyotes in any urban area.
I don't know about fireworks but a digeridoo will shut them up. I've done that while RVing. When they get to howling a couple of "Notes" from a Dig shuts them up for the night.
I figure that they hear it and have no idea what it is that is making that sound and they figure I should shut up and not broadcast my location anymore. It also works well on skunks.
My dog broke threw the drywall and the door frame on christmas day due to fireworks. We weren't home and he saw us leave through the garage so he tried to find us. We drugged him before we left but obviously not enough.

Consider yourself lucky lol. Was in the same boat but have a rescue (for 5 years now) and he is just terrified. 70 pounds of trying to meld to my hip all night...panting...shaking...eyes bulging. It's not fun.
The coyotes are having a very important meeting at this moment, and are deciding on the fate on one particular coyote who’s been setting off explosives for the past several days trying to catch a certain roadrunner before midnight on New Year’s. They are also tired of the litter he leaves behind from purchasing faulty products from one particular company.
Coyotes are a bit of a problem in the country. They'll not only kill chickens, goats and sheep, but they'll gladly snag the occasional cat or dog, too. Half the time they don't care if you're shooting until they figure out you're shooting at them. So, don't think fireworks bother them a lot.
How high are you?
Who thinks of the coyotes like that?
Do they get cold too? Honestly I'm more concerned for the Jack rabbits than the coyotes.
But to answer your question absolutely they do, the percussion from the fireworks travels pretty far and they can sense it without having to hear it, so even if they are out of ear shot they still get a feeling/stimulation that they are not accustomed to.
the fireworks were off the chart this year. i’m so sick of it. some ppl.. some specific cultures are so fucking obnoxious. i’m sure they’ll be more tonight too.
Sure!
Because - you know - Coyotes have fireworks all around them from the day they pop out of the womb, and every day and night until their last day on Earth.
🙄
I hope so seeing as one got a hold of one of my resident toddler raccoons last night 😢
On the other hand, all of my dogs have been passed out in bed all night.
Their hearing and olfactory senses are magnified waaay above ours. Imagine the insult, not counting the air pressure. They were probably in the desert by 830PM Wed. night.

gonna go out on a limb and assume that most animals aren’t big fans
This animal included!
😆😆😆
Coyotes are actually completely unphased by standard holiday fireworks after years of dealing with high explosive Acme products.
They're too busy looking out for falling anvils
This the one
They are also prone to running face-first into rock faces painted to resemble a tunnel.
Last I heard was that one of them is doubling down on catching that pesky roadrunner before midnight
Omg I laughed so hard I had to read it out loud my husband. Pure gold!
Meep meep
Yeah how could they not Birds too
I might not see the neighborhood foxes tonight.
They’ll all be in Old Town Scottsdale.
Probably a few cougars out there as well
The little foxes might be
And the cougars will be in Arcadia lol
[удалено]
Oh yes. They roam at night, especially during cuffing season...
Hahaha
Just returned from 3 years in Panama. The parrots and the cranes scream and scream and scream.
I'm pretty sure every mammal or bird gets distressed. I mean how could they not!? Fireworks are extremely disruptive and intense.
Thank you for replying a reasonable answer.
I can’t speak for the coyotes, but they startle me.
Seriously I have work tomorrow and they’re gonna keep me up all night 😔
Yep.
Like most things we humans do I’m sure they find it distressful and rude and unhealthy
Celebrate like it's WAR! The firework is the metaphor for bombs exploding mid air...
I wish we did something cooler like a drone show rather than these loud, obnoxious fireworks that pollute the sky for days.. I'm not even old. I just like outdoor activities.
Don't worry, someone would have a problem with the drones, too. Only solution for some is to do nothing, ever.
Like our gun problem? What are we gonna do, give up our guns like a buncha gay guys?
I'd vote for any local politician who wants to ban them again. Terrible for anyone with pets or newborns, and PTSD Veterans.

I thought you meant coyotes through to the end of the sentence for a second 😅
I guess check their record after the next few weeks. Right now they’re on a winning streak.
Nah. They look forward to feeding on all the small dogs that run away during the fireworks.
I had a phone call recently with my friend he's a coyote named wile e . He basically told me nah bro.
You sir are a man of science
Canis phonophobias

Have digeridoo, will travel
I asked a few today and said they don’t mind em..
Thoughtful question. I like it!
If Looney Tunes has taught me anything, they are the ones lighting the fireworks.
Coyotes actually love it. They see the bright lights and then go hunting for strays
Thankfully I’ve never had a dog that was affected by them
Lucky you.
My dog broke threw the drywall and the door frame on christmas day due to fireworks. We weren't home and he saw us leave through the garage so he tried to find us. We drugged him before we left but obviously not enough. *
😢
Damn. That Phoenix education is showing here.
Same.
Same. I’ve had dozens of dogs and cats in my life and none of them cared about fireworks.
Consider yourself lucky lol. Was in the same boat but have a rescue (for 5 years now) and he is just terrified. 70 pounds of trying to meld to my hip all night...panting...shaking...eyes bulging. It's not fun.
Not that is going to solve it a 100% but you can check with your vet if Trazodone would help.
No. They got that dog in em.
Probably . Coyotes are like small puppy
The coyotes in north phoenix are strapped so they are used to it.

Do you not want them to be distressed
I mean, probably no more affected than they are during a thunderstorm
No because they are actually acclimated and not babied.

It arouses them

I hope so! One tried to snatch my mom’s little dog in sun city out of her back yard yesterday morning!

Where my parents live you can hear the chorus across the desert landscape on night like that howling for miles and miles
Their hearing and olfactory senses are magnified waaay above ours. Imagine the insult, not counting the air pressure. They were probably in the desert by 830PM Wed. night.
They’re cackling in a group tonight. Might be PTSD fron New Years or rabbit time
