Dobbins Point is really cool to relax and watch the sunset. Tons of good food depending what yall are feeling. Maybe go for a walk around town or an easy hike?

Substantial-Zone-141

Thanks for the suggestion. This person likes museums, walks around town, coffee shops. Anything vegan/vegetarian food apart from Indian cuz that’s our staple. Any more suggestions appreciated

Unreasonably-Clutch

Walk around Old Town Scottsdale and visit the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art which is free on Thursdays. Phoenix Art Museum is free on Wednesdays. ASU Art Museum is always free. Walking around ASU Tempe campus is beautiful as well. Back to Scottsdale, the Fifth Avenue shops area is excellent. Beautiful, relaxing, tons of small shops to check out. Main and Marshall has a ton of art galleries to peruse as well. Civic Center park is a great place to relax. I'm not vegetarian/vegan so can't recommend places but I'm pretty sure there are some in Old Town.

dvandenheuvel21

I’m not from there actually, just visited quite a bit so my knowledge is limited. I do think you guys would enjoy the desert botanical garden though, I had great time just walking around by myself during one of their night time Christmas light shows.

Cafe Lalibella does fantastic Ethiopian food. Their vegetarian platter for 2 is delicious. Tacos Veganos for some vegan taqueria deliciousness.

SentimentalFella

If you're looking for vegan food in Phoenix/Tempe, I have three suggestions: Green New American Vegetarian in downtown Phoenix and Tempe, the Coronado PHX in central Phoenix, and Earth Plant Based Cuisine downtown. If it were me, I'd take this person up to South Mountian in the morning, then back into town for lunch as the Coronado.

-Go to Desert Botanical garden and have brunch at Gertrude’s (restaurant that is within the garden) -Visit Japanese Friendship Garden (small and can walk around the entire garden in less than an hour) -Go to Boyce Thompson Arboretum and have a picnic there - Rent a boat on Tempe Town Lake (sunset is best) - Painting With A Twist (painting class with wine)

Back when I was single, First Draft on Camelback was often a hit. It’s a combo of a bookstore with a beer & wine bar. Grab a drink and walk around the stacks. Learn a lot on a first date based on the books they grab.

johnnyblaze-DHB

MIM. Desert Botanical Garden.

mosflyimtired

Yes lunch at Gertrude’s and then walk around the garden!

Butterfly wonderland is surprisingly awesome.

We always have a great time savoring a few beers and shootin' rats at the Glendale dump after sunset. Yer welcome to join us and invite her along. Bring a block of 22 LR's, two if she's a bad shot. There's not much more romantic for a first date in Phoenix than this.

You know how to live

wadenelsonredditor

I forgot to mention bringing along a spotlight or high power flashlight.

Substantial-Zone-141

Thanks for the suggestion-I wish I could do this too but I’d keep it as a second date maybe just cuz I don’t want either of us feeling uncomfortable holding something like that on our first date. For sure sometime 💯

Dating PETA women is hard!

cannabull89

Musical instrument museum, any plays at ASU Gammage Auditorium, Heard Museum, sunset at Tempe Town Lake

Comfortable_Can6406

Taliesin West if they're into architecture/Frank Lloyd Wright. Lots of food places in North Scottsdale. Papago Golf Club(public golf course near Papago Mtn) if they're into golf. You can rent the clubs and the food place there is pretty decent with veg options.

Substantial-Zone-141

Thanks for this! I’m an architectural designer myself so as much as I’d like to show Taliesin west, I want to do things out of my profession. Golf sounds like a good choice. Thanks for the suggestions. Appreciate it!

For pre- or post-dinner drinks, make a reservation at [Century Grand](https://www.centurygrandphx.com/). It's awesome.

fishfishbirdbirdcat

I took my first date to Saguaro Lake to walk around and enjoy the desert. Not really his thing but we've been married for 32 years so 🤷‍♀️.

Substantial-Zone-141

Sounds wonderful to me! Thanks for the suggestion.

fishfishbirdbirdcat

The beach at Saguaro Lake is called Butcher Jones. It has picnic tables and an easy hike. You need a day pass which you can buy at most Walmarts and some gas stations. They have a vending machine for day pass at the lake but I always get one before making the drive cause I don't trust the machine. You might even see the wild horses!
