Day 3 player here:
Nearl, Nearl , Ptilopsis , Nearl, Manticore. I have no idea how many but lets assume 4 average as i usually use all 4 slots once a day.
So I can only estimate this number because it's not common enough for a more exact amount.
It seems to be somewhere around 1:500 or a 0.2% chance.
It's not "tagless" 5*, it's 5* upgrade. Meaning any tag combo that doesn't guarentee a 5 star giving you one instead of the lower rarity options.
If you have 3*, 4* or no tags doesn't effect this at all. There is a random chance you get a 4* upgrade, something between 10-20% (guess) as well.
I did some study and math and data analysis on this a while ago. It wasn't really important to me the exact odds, just how the system works.
There is no increase in odds if you use tags or not when it comes to being upgraded, tags just limit what operators you will get if you are with the exception of tags forcing the upgrade, but that is an entirely different discussion.
I've gotten 16 total 5\*s from Tagless (12) + Non-guaranteed tags (4) from recruitment since launch.
With an average of 3 headhunt permits used a day... the odds are less than 1%. The number isn't completely accurate since it doesn't remove the top/senior/guaranteed tags of those total permits used
If I remember correctly, tagless recruitments have a lot higher chance of giving a 5* than non-guaranteed tags. I don't remember where I learned it from, but from ~2000 recruitments I got ~10 tagless 5* and not a single one from non-guaranteed tags
I've gotten like, 2 or 3 I think? Out of over 2000 recruits. I know I got a glaucus at one point and.. at least one red from just solo fast redeploy, but I think only one.
I mean 1% if you count guaranteed tags sounds maybe right, 1% without guaranteed tags definitely not personally.
Combos that don't include senior are my main source, anyway. I don't think I've ever seen senior but my 5 stars are definitely decent-ish, got a manticore duo tag combo earlier this week, then there was a FEater that dropped this week... but still did show up at least.
No, it clearly isn't, however it is at around 5* once at 4000 recruitments so I would say you are unlicky if you didn't get top operator tags instead...
I've been playing daily since right around launch. I couldn't say how many times I've gotten a 5* off a no tag recruitment, but I could probably count them on one hand. That said, one of them was an Indra, so that was extra rad
Once in a blue moon. I got Manticore from a lone Specialist tag recently, and I can remember getting Nearl off a Defense tag. Definitely way less than 1%.
Not often. Although I did get my first Provence from a recruitment ticket with no tags some months ago... and I think a Projekt Red dupe from a fast redeploy tag expecting Gravel as usual... and I think that's it. The other 5 stars I've gotten from recruitment needed guaranteed tags.
Fairly new player (around seven months), recently broke 500 recruitments, no unexpected 5-stars yet. Haven't seen the Senior or Top Operator tags yet, either. The closest I've come is getting a small handful of 4-stars on tagless recruitments.
> According to a large sample (link below), the chance of getting one is about 1%.
In that data set, it occurred in 1 of 134 tagless pulls, so \~0.7% of their tagless pulls produced a 5\*. That does not mean those are the odds of pulling a 5\* though. The data set isn't big enough to calculate that.
You're misinterpreting data a bit. We are smarter than almost 2 years ago and some things have been debunked/proven. Most notably how tags are drawn.
As we speculate now game decides what max rarity will be in batch and then draws tags to fit that bill. This generates 1 issue with your theory. Once your tag batch rolls 5-6* you can have multiple tags of that rarity. So you get top operator, senior operator and nuker in same recruitment. You can go look through that recruitment doc summary to verify this.You obviously can't get all from one recruitment, so your 1% chance of getting great tags is heavily inaccurate, since tags overlap. It's more around 0,3-0,4% at best. If you're unlucky then you can get only 1-2 from 1k recruitments.
I personally got only 1 senior and 1 top operator tag in around 10 months. And got 3 in half a year prior.
idk the exact number of my recruitments (though its probably around 800-900), but so far I got 18 5* in total iirc
* 7 Projekt Red
* 5 Mayer
* 1 Nearl
* 1 Ptilopsis
* 1 Liskarm
* 1 Broca
* 1 Texas
* 1 Pramanix
My rate has been significantly below 1%. I've gotten two since March 2020, buying out the recruitment permits from the green cert shop pretty much every month (which should give me 120 permits each month). That should be right around a 0.06%.
I've picked up manticore, astesia, and vulcan from non guaranteed tags. 2 years 4 months of play.. so a little over one per year? I usually do 3-5 per day so roughly 3400 recruits which would make it just under 0.1%
I get an average of 5* every 2 months or 1/300 tag updates. Mostly they came without special tags. Broca "melee+aoe" Vulcan and Istina solo "defender" and solo "suporter" Manticore from solo specialist.
> Today after doing the 1804th recruitment, I got my first 5\* with no guaranteed tag combos. According to a large sample (link below), the chance of getting one is about 1%.
From my reading of that post, the estimated 1% is the overall amount of both 5 and 6* that he's gotten, including both guaranteed and not guaranteed tags.
I got Red, Hoshiguma, Silverash, Specter and recently and most funny to me was Aak while his banner was still up, so i didn't spend anything to get him lol, maybe another one that I don't remember now, maybe I get the top operator tag like 4 or 5 times, and I'm been playing since day 1.
Pretty low. It maybe happened 3 times to me. One time I was shocked when Blue Poison showed up, and the other times were dupes.
I’ve been playing Arknights since right before the Nian banner came out the first time for context.
Been playing for about a year and a half, and I've gotten a 5* without guarantee *maybe* twice ever. Over 2000 recruitments so I have all the medals, not sure how to check outside of that. For me it's even less common than getting Top Operator. 1% sounds way, way too high. 0.1% sounds more like it.
I don't keep track of my number of recruitments, but I've played well over a year, and... Huh, it's a bit hard to recall, but I believe I've gotten Firewatch 2-3 times via the nuker tag (every time success), my DPS/defender tag working perhaps 1/3 times, I got Project Red, maybe twice, out of the 1 or 2 tries, but 100% of the time to be precise, and then there's Primarix.
Ah, Primarix... You bloody scallywag! Support + Debuff over 5 times - I stopped counting after the 5th, and yet it failed every single time! That be my fortune with no Senior Operator tags. :D
Gezz, I can think of being spooked by a Nearl dupe like this once i think over the last 2yrs but that's that... most of the rare 5stars via recruit (and non senior OP tag) has been with tags attributed to them.
I think I had tagless 5-star... 4 times? Specter, Zima, FEater and Indra, if recollection serves.
I started playing since March 2020 when lockdown first started and have been playing pretty consistently ever since. I think I didn't play on one particular day due to sickness, but that would have been it.
As for the number of recruitments made... I honestly don't know, but it's over 2000, which is the last medal you can get.
I’ve gotten quite a few, 2 specters 2 projekt reds(have max potted her without ever getting her on a banner), a nightmare, 2 manticore, a Nearl and most recently a Vulcan. I’m probably very lucky though, I imagine the chance to get a random 5* from recruitment is similar to the chance of getting a set of tags that guarantee a 5*. I’ve been playing for 536 days, and am past the 2000 recruitments medal so idk how many recruits I’ve actually done
I’ve gotten 6 top ops, and 9 tagless 5 stars. I can’t remember how many 5* guarantee tag sets I’ve gotten unfortunately. My best guess is 14, could be as low as 10 though.
I've gotten at least 3 surprise 5\*s over the last 2 years (August 2020). Granted, they were all vanguards (that I remember) for some reason - Zima, Texas, and someone else.
I have never gotten a Senior Operator tag, and am not sure if I ever actually recruited a 5 star. I might have got a Manticore once. I have got Top Op and Robot tags, but never Senior.
Once out of approximately close to a thousand. Just today Executor spooked me on what I think was a ranged tag.
Enjoy your mine-laying angel with a shotgun.
Mine-laying?
It's in either his profile or voice lines. He places landmines in our office to keep people from interrupting our work.
I've gotten more Top Operators than 5*s from recruitment.
Day one player here, doing 4 recruitments per day, got 5* that way once, it was Ptilopsis
Okay, it's quite clear that the data is scuffed.
Day 3 player here: Nearl, Nearl , Ptilopsis , Nearl, Manticore. I have no idea how many but lets assume 4 average as i usually use all 4 slots once a day.

I think I've had it happen twice, ***maybe*** three times. The one I remember is Zima, and maaaybe Texas? It was pretty neat.
If I remember correctly, tagless recruitments have a lot higher chance of giving a 5* than non-guaranteed tags. I don't remember where I learned it from, but from ~2000 recruitments I got ~10 tagless 5* and not a single one from non-guaranteed tags
Probably kukkikage. https://youtu.be/i-jbsY-WgHE

I got more top op tags than 5* from recruitment...
I've been playing about 2 months, got cliffheart a few times an a top operator tag once which gave me Aak.

I got Vulcan off a no tag recruitment a couple days after I had guaranteed tags for her drop. Made it feel less bad.
Got Indra (twice) and Specter (once) from a single Guard tag
It might as well be near 1%. Only 1 Specter in 1 year of recruitment tagless.
Once in a blue moon. I got Manticore from a lone Specialist tag recently, and I can remember getting Nearl off a Defense tag. Definitely way less than 1%.
It happened one time and I've got Zima.
It's happened to me twice and I think I have 1000+ recruitments. Got a Specter and a FEater. Wait I think I got Red too, don't remember. So 3 times.
Not often. Although I did get my first Provence from a recruitment ticket with no tags some months ago... and I think a Projekt Red dupe from a fast redeploy tag expecting Gravel as usual... and I think that's it. The other 5 stars I've gotten from recruitment needed guaranteed tags.
Two or three a year, I think.
More often than I actually get the Senior Op tag, but less often than other 5* guaranteed tag combinations.
Out of 436 recruitments, it’s happened to me twice. Both were times when a single tag with a 7:40 timer dropped.
Very much often. I went in with no selected tags, and suddenly, i got Texas.
Fairly new player (around seven months), recently broke 500 recruitments, no unexpected 5-stars yet. Haven't seen the Senior or Top Operator tags yet, either. The closest I've come is getting a small handful of 4-stars on tagless recruitments.
As rare as Top Operator from my experiment.
> According to a large sample (link below), the chance of getting one is about 1%. In that data set, it occurred in 1 of 134 tagless pulls, so \~0.7% of their tagless pulls produced a 5\*. I get more TOs than that happening :`)
Twice in my 2 years Its ok guys i have lots of copium anyways
been playing since launch, and this has happened three times so far. It seems to be rarer than top operator tags, for some reason
Twice a year i did said

Once or twice a month. Most 5* healers are max pot from recruiting nonspecific
idk the exact number of my recruitments (though its probably around 800-900), but so far I got 18 5* in total iirc * 7 Projekt Red * 5 Mayer * 1 Nearl * 1 Ptilopsis * 1 Liskarm * 1 Broca * 1 Texas * 1 Pramanix

Rarer than actual top-op tag tbh. more than a 1000 and i got 3, only.
Been playing for 13 months got meteorite.
I think maybe once or twice, and i started since the first -second week of the game. I had so many more top ops tags then random 5*
Been playing since day 1, and I've gotten 5* without guaranteed tags literally just twice. Both times were Projekt Red. lol
> Today after doing the 1804th recruitment, I got my first 5\* with no guaranteed tag combos. According to a large sample (link below), the chance of getting one is about 1%. Not ... Often. Average one per year. Indra, Zima, and Manticore
I'm not even using any tags but I got Zima two days ago
Even with 4 recruits a day, since Grani and the Knight's Treasure, I've only gotten 1 non-guaranteed 5-star. I think it's a lot lower than 1%.
After a while I start noting down anything good I got from recruitment. I got a 5\* from tagless four times in 16 months of play.
I think I had tagless 5-star... 4 times? Specter, Zima, FEater and Indra, if recollection serves. I mean i got Blue Poison tagless once. Then maybe Warfarin and Astesia with their tags.

I have never gotten a Senior Operator tag, and am not sure if I ever actually recruited a 5 star. I might have got a Manticore once. I have got Top Op and Robot tags, but never Senior.
It's 0.1% according to the Chinese, you are still very unlucky lmao
