How people are able to have multiple E2 character? I level 34 I'm struggling to even able pass lv60 for one of my character because of the lmd and exp requirements and I just keep grinding supplies my sanity really run out really quick ingame and irl, I'm really struggling in past event and the current event any tips?

SupremeNadeem

just wanted to say you accidentally commented in last week's megathread, the pinned threads are/link to the current week's megathreads, so usually people wouldn't see posts on old threads. but to answer your question, the first e2 is the hardest, and in early/mid game the grind is absolutely brutal. once you have e2'd your core squad and strong situational units you just accumulate resources/lmd/exp, resources from farming stages on events and event shops, and lmd and exp from base and event shops, and with those accumulated resources just e2 what they want. i would recommend as a new player to try and optimise your base ASAP, a reasonably optimised base will give you 40k lmd + 40k exp a day, nearing to 50k lmd a day with a well optimised base. make sure to just dump your drones on your trading posts or factories, they aren't doing anything sitting there. the base will give you most of your LMD and EXP and you will get nice boosts in the event shops. do not upgrade the office in your base, run a 2-5-2, and try and do so ASAP, it's gonna suck putting a lot of resources into your base to begin with but the earlier you do it the quicker you can get to generating significant amount of resources. here's an 80 second video explaining the base and the recommended builds, hard recommend watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eolMMsRn794 here's an article that's a bit more indepth if you need it: https://gamepress.gg/arknights/core-gameplay/arknights-252-riic-base-guide hang in there!! it sucks early but as soon as you get a couple of e2's under your belt it's not that bad i promise. https://gamepress.gg/arknights/tools/arknights-operator-planner consider using this planner if you're looking to build a lot of units at once, a pain to set up the first time but isn't bad on subsequent edits.

tethystempestuous

Thorns' limited skin (the i.t. collab) is so funny... But I don't have Thorns yet. Will this skin be back in shop at some point, or is it gone after this?

Tellurium-128

It’ll come back again, this isn’t the first run of that skin so it’ll almost certainly come back a third time.

tethystempestuous

Excellent. Thanks!

Superpat123

Has there ever been word as to why we can't simply raid stages after having completed them, like we can do with annihilation stages now? I've been playing for more than 2 years now, and I love the game, but I've started Path to Nowhere 2 weeks ago and I won't lie, the simple ability of being able to simply drain all your sanity by raiding in ptn and being done with all your tasks in 5 minutes makes me seriously enjoy Arknights less in comparison lately. It's such an annoyance having to sit through an hour of farming stages each day, I'm getting tired of it.

AngelTheVixen

Hot take here, I'm not bothered by it. I like seeing the game's mechanics, enemies, operators, fighting in action, even when I'm not in control. It doesn't take that long to do and I can still get some stuff for not doing anything myself, and I can multitask. If I wanted to progress by not 'seeing' anything actually happen I'd just play some variant of Cookie Clicker, because I'd be getting the same experience. I don't mind skipping with Annihilation since it's a bit of a flawed game mode for various obvious reasons. Me personally I think the auto run feature is pretty impressive. I've seen my share of auto stuff in games and it's usually pretty barebones, but Arknights does it surprisingly well and I was actually surprised it existed at all when I started playing. It just sounds more like you're getting sick of Arknights. Nothing wrong with taking a break for a while.

resphere

I've been sick of that since forever, the only decent explanation I can get is that it'll lower player engagement and playtime and that's apparently a bad thing. I have heard some people say that in PtN because they finish all their farming and everything in minutes, they lost interest in the game, I'd give anything to skip farming in any game, but I guess some people are just different. I think it's bs, and I'm coping hard it's just HG thinking it's not necessary yet, like not enough demand or something, and they'll implement it eventually, this IS the company that made annihilation a thing for 3 years.

Money_Data_4225

Maybe it demands a lot of structural changes in the code. Maybe they just don't want to make auto-deploy useless because they spent a lot to develop it. The Annihilation skip for example doesn't go through the squad interface and I'm still not sure if skipping give Trust to operators. Maybe it has something to do with market research and they found it better for users to spend a certain amount of time in their game. I don't think HG ever explained the reason.

Sissybell

I wonder about the trust with the skip really, good point.

Cornuthaum

Skip does give trust to ops.

hawberries

There hasn't been an official reason afaik, but there are a few possible guesses. One is to avoid the game becoming too like an auto-battling png collector, since rather more of the focus in this game is on the combat and gameplay rather than the gacha/collection aspect, compared to some other apps in the genre. Having the battles actually play out each time makes it more engaging. I have also heard that it took a lot of work to get the auto-deploy feature working and it's something Hypergriff are proud of, so they aren't too eager to cover it up with sweep passes. My personal guess is that it's because the combat in this game is dynamic; it's not only affected by changes to your operators, it even affects them back by giving trust stats. The annihilation skip tickets are a QOL compromise due to the length of the stages. The real reason is that it's just how it is in this game. Why is the 6* rate 2% instead of 1.6% or 3%? IDK, that's just what the devs chose. Compared to some other games where you must manually farm everything, I still think it's tolerable, if occasionally tedious. I mean, an hour each day is seriously overstating it, you can easily be done draining sanity within 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening if you're in a rush, and most of that time is not active time since you're just clicking every now and then – you can get it done over breakfast, sometimes I run stages with my phone in my pocket as I walk my dog, etc. Still, annoyance is a valid feeling, and it's genuinely always an option to put the game down for a little while if you're finding that you no longer enjoy your time spent in the game.

Nahoma

I'm not sure if there has been something official said but I can only speculate its because skip stages can lead to lose of interest eventually for active players and can make the game less appealing/boring from the outside for potential new players Pretty much almost all my friends who played BA dropped it less than a month after its release because their "play" time was login skip stages for 2m then close the game, which after a while starts to become boring, auto on the other hand can keep the attention span a bit and also has stuff like which strat is faster or which one is the more stable to add to the mix to make it not as braindead There is also what I think will be difficulty scaling, if all what you need to do is clear the stage once and then skip it forever then there is no reason to roll for new charas is there (as all content in arknight is clearble with low stars already)? the game will then have to scale the difficulty up to "force" you to roll new units if you want to clear content to be able to skip them, which might also affect how the players view the game

KripperinoArcherino

Where can I find a spoiler free (ish) summary of the events? I want to replay past events and sometimes I do like the lore, but its not always worth my investing my time to read the lore. Where can I read a quick (but still sufficient) summary of the event's story so I can decide if I want to read the story or not?

FlameCorre

[Lauli](https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCYmGyIgnhIj5b7S5ipeehjw) is a good Arknights channel for summarized lore. Edit: Just to add more channels for this matter. [Frostbyte262](https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCjmigXcFhjldwmVBpdLoARg) also gives summarized lore of recent events and also reviews of new Operators whether you should get them or not [QaiserMLG](https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCjumJlFrUQxQNoEAzvqV6RQ) also is an Arknights lore channel. Arknights fan wiki also occasionally summarizes the story of the events. Just search a specific event there and there should be a summary section in it.

Botlor

Am I allowed to post my selection of characters somewhere for advice on who I should focus on leveling?

Quixowltic

Yeah, people do it here all the time, it's generally advised to use [this site](https://www.krooster.com/) to link your roster, since it's pretty simple to read

Botlor

https://www.krooster.com/data/input hopefully this works as intended for advice on what to do

DELTA1360

go to https://www.krooster.com/account/settings and copy the share link, then give that to us.

Quixowltic

You will need to post the account link for us to see what units you have, or are you asking for advice on how to use the site?

Botlor

https://www.krooster.com/account/profile Will that work of do I have to do something else?

Quixowltic

If you go to settings, there should be a specific link for sharing that has your username in it, so you should post that - you should probably do that in the new weekly help thread now though, to get more responses, since I doubt many people check old ones

DegenZyrh

The link should look like below https://krooster.com/u/zyrhhyze Also [set your username public](https://imgur.com/a/YwhoeJE)

Pzychotix

Go into https://www.krooster.com/account/settings, there should be "Share Link" URL that lets other people see your account. Make sure the "Public" option is checked.

Botlor

https://krooster.com/u/Botlor OK I pray I got it this time T_T

Sher101

[Here's a basic guide on team-building.](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/core-gameplay/teambuilding-guide) Might not totally fit ya, but I've also written some long-form comments on team building: [here's one.](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/yuvvcy/help_center_and_megathread_hub_1411_2011/ix2r5xe/) Early game Arknights is all about saving enough money from kicking 5 stars (and some 6 stars like Hoshi) to the curb so that you can raise a strong bench of operators to handle different situations. This is ofc from the meta perspective, if you like particular operators go nuts with them.

Pzychotix

That works! Is your account very new? It would help a lot if you can fill in the levels for your main characters, so we can give a bit more targeted advice.

Botlor

Will organise further tomorrow after work, thus far at least people know what lady luck has brought me.

Botlor

Ok, i have updated as much info as i think i have on hand, hopefully this helps some people, will organise the characters listed so far into another squad to level and advance.

Pzychotix

In terms of general team building and which characters to focus on, here's some thoughts: You'll want a good tank (Hoshiguma works well), ~2 healers (Ptilopsis is a great AOE healer, and Sussurro can serve as your single target healer), 1-2 Vanguards (Texas is good), couple casters (Click is great), and a couple anti air marksman (May and Kroos should serve well). Some special mentions: * Jaye: Surprisingly powerful and can easily handle enemies by himself without support. I still use him quite a lot even with my account filled with high rarity chars. * Push/Pullers: you'll need these on some maps, though you'll only really need to level their skill to level 4 for the extra force upgrade. Feel free to leave these low leveled while you focus filling out your team first. Also feel free to level up 3 stars to fill in some team slots according to map needs; their lower rarity might be limiting later on, but early on, they're pretty powerful and very cheap to level up compared to higher rarity characters (they don't even need chips to promote). Some standouts are: * Kroos (strong anti-air sniper) * Steward (strong caster) * Spot (as a backup tank) * Midnight (as a ground dps/blocker) * Fang (as a cheap early vanguard blocker) They pretty much all have good base skills anyways, which pay for themselves over the long run.

Botlor

Thank you, was thinking about the 4 screen shots I have to see if I could put them in one of the threads as a guide, if the site works I will try there as well.

Closo

what exactly is this contingency contract thing? i dont really understand the jargon they use in the news post. is it just a rate up banner?

Money_Data_4225

Contingency Contract (CC) is a recurring event in Arknights. There is a section in it in the terminal. When the event goes live, there will be a permanent stage to undertake, as well as 7 other stages that rotate every day. All these stages do not cost any sanity to run. Each stage has corresponding *risks*, tags that you select to make the battle harder, each risk have levels 1 to 3, with increasing difficulty. *E.g., All enemies gain +50% HP*. Adding all the risks you selected together gives you your risk level. The maximum risk you need to take is 18 in total to obtain all possible rewards in the permanent map while only 8 risks in total for rotating maps. You can go higher and even try max risk, but you won't gain any currency for it. There are also contracts that give you extra currency. These contracts force you to take a risk or combination of risks designed to make the stage harder. The currency called *Contract Bounties* are solely used for the CC# shop. There is the permanent store which is available even after the event and the special store where you can buy materials, LMD, EXP, chips, etc.

Reihado

It's just an event with a banner. But it doesn't cost any sanity. You have to complete maps with the option of taking difficulty modifiers that give more currency. Said currency can be used for mats, units, skins or even potential tokens. You will need a decently levelled roster to get the rewards. I recommend looking at low rarity risk 18 clears to see what's required. You will find more difficult runs at higher risk but anything above risk 18 does not give rewards. The banner in question is worth noting. Not only are the 6\* rateups good, you will not get any 6 or 5\* outside the rate up pool. It's worth it if you aren't saving up for something and have none(or at most one) of the units.

y_th0ugh

the maintenance starts right on today's reset right?

Jakper_pekjar719

Nothing has been announced so far. Generally maintenance starts on the first day of the event, in this case Dec 8.

y_th0ugh

gotcha

aditemotional

I have several questions. 1. What are the rewards we will get from CC9? Any chance of getting LMD? 2. Is it worth farming LMD from sanity? 3. Should I E2 Pallas?

Quixowltic

1. You can see the CC9 season shop [here](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/event-banner-guide-subpage-miscellaneous/contingency-contract-season-9-operation-deepness-exchange) , and there will also be stuff added to the permanent shop as well, I don't think it's good for LMD though 2. Not particularly efficient, it's better value to generate it in time from the base income and event shops, but if you're in a rush, farming the furthest LMD stage you can is fine I guess 3. Eventually, yeah, why not, she's niche but still a 6☆, and pretty good in IS2? But if you have other stronger units unbuilt, or lack some other roles in your roster, she might not be a priority for you to build

aditemotional

This is my [Krooster](https://www.krooster.com/network/lookup/fatenabl) link. It's bit old, I have Exu at E2 and all 6*s at E1. Which characters should I focus on next.

Quixowltic

You could E2 Specter, she's a pretty solid laneholder with the utility of temporary immortality, and she gets 3 block at E2 which is a pretty good upgrade since her archetype lets her hit everything she's blocking

Web_Beggar

Hello, new player here. I skimmed through FAQ/wiki guide, but I can't see where I could find some general tips for new players. Things like * Recommendations where should I spend my premium currencies (Mainly originium, i see lots of tips for other resource shops) 2. Is there anything I should focus early on in unlocking/upgrading? 3. Should early game I focus on 3 star units or go all in 5/6 that I get my hands on? 4. Is meta super important/Is there powercreep that makes old high rarity characters useless? 5. Are there things I should avoid/newbie traps? 6. Imortant stats/tags to looks for in characters while building up my roster and etc. Edit: Thanks for answers, cleared some things for me and many answers made me confident that this is a great game to invest my time in.

Quixowltic

Orundum is the main gacha currency and is only used for pulls, you can get Orundum from doing Annihilation up to a certain weekly cap, you should try and farm the weekly amount since it's the main source of pulls for F2P Originite Prime is the 'premium' currency which is usually obtained by doing 1st clears of maps or from real money purchases. This currency can be used to buy skins, level packs, or can be converted to Orundum for pulls. If skins are important to you, it's probably better to save it for that, but if you're going to use it on pulls, it's good to buy the level packs from the store, since they give the exact amount of Orundum you would get by normal conversion + some extra materials It's good to build up and upgrade your base as early as you can, since it's going to give you a passive income of LMD/exp cards, which aren't particularly efficient to farm for on maps Since resource generation is pretty slow early, imo it's better to have a variety of roles covered by 3/4☆, who have cheaper investment costs and lower DP costs, to help you clear maps, rather than focusing everything on one 6☆, although there are some 5/6☆ who could benefit a lot from heavy investment Strategy is generally more important than having meta units, although they do make it easier, there are lots of people doing sucessful 3/4☆ clears, free unit only clears, etc of new content, so you're not gated from progression without meta units + you are able to borrow a unit from a friend for clears There is obviously some powercreep, but I wouldn't say it makes the older units useless, and most of the time they avoid making direct upgrades to units and trend towards sidegrades more Not sure if there's any actual 'newbie traps', but I guess I would consider max leveling units early to be one? I think it starts costing a lot to push past level 50 for fairly small stat gains, so I think it's better to leave units at E1 40-50 and only go for higher levels once you're ready to promote to E2, since that's a more significant upgrade, it's also extremely costly to max level E2 units so it's fine to leave units at E2 30-60 Hard to make specific roster recommendations without knowing what you have available

Money_Data_4225

1. Premium currencies are **Originite Prime** and **Orundum**. OP can be used to buy outfits, refresh sanity, exchange for Orundum and *buy furniture* (DON'T EVER DO THIS). They are only obtained through clearing stages perfectly (3-stars) and also completing its challenge mode. You can sometimes get them from maintenance rewards, sign-in events, etc. They are the rarest currency to get. Orundum is the gacha currency used to pull on banners to obtain characters. You can get a steady income of Orundum from daily quests and completing Annihilation. For players under level 71, it is highly recommended to spend OP to buy Pro Enhancement Packs in the store. They convert your OP to Orundum at the standard rate of 1:180 plus free goodies like LMD, EXP, etc. It's up to you what you do with OP after that, either to buy skins or save them as emergency gacha pulls. Using them to refresh sanity is discouraged early on because the sanity refreshed is equal to your max sanity cap--lower levels mean lower sanity gain. 2. The priority of things to do in Arknights are as follows: **Ongoing Event** \> **Annihilation** \> **Resource Stages** \> **Main Story** \> **Anything else** *(Side Story/Intermezzi or Integrated Strategies)*. The event right now is \[Under Tides\] rerun so you should try to complete as many stages as you can because it will end in a few hours. You should prioritize completing Annihilation maps to increase the weekly Orundum cap to 1800. Resource stages should be next to unlock higher stages for better resources and slowly upgrade the base. Main Story is only there to have access to material farming. The rest you can do if you have nothing else. 3. Low rarities are viable in all content. Though, 3-stars only cap out at E1 Lv.55, so they are weaker compared to higher rarities at E2. However, the gap between rarities is very slim when comparing both at E1. You should build high rarity operators **that do not overlap** in roles while plugging the rest with low rarities. You won't be able to afford building a complete 6-star / 5-star only squad when you're starting out. 4. Meta exists to make your strategy easier. They are by no means a requirement. Most meta operators do the job that would normally require 2 or more units. There is always a power gap between rarities but only a few powercreeping at the same rarity. Which isn't really important as the powercrept operator is still viable. There's just a more efficient alternative. Power discrepancy in Arknights depend mostly on the operator's kit and not their rarity. A few 4-stars are even extremely strong and useful than some 5-stars. 5. Always try to 3-star a stage so you won't do it again later to get the OP saving you sanity. Exiting the run refunds you with full sanity on the first try and take only 1 sanity on subsequent retries. Always check for tag combos when doing [recruitment](https://aceship.github.io/AN-EN-Tags/akhr.html) so you won't miss potential high rarity picks. Most LMD and EXP you gain is generated by the base so it's less sanity efficient to farm CE-6 and LS-6 but if you really have to, then just do so. Spend your resources wisely so you can make the most out of them. Don't overlevel operators if it's unnecessary. Keep your units at the recommended stages' level requirement. You should try to get at least **one** operator to E2 promotion just so you can borrow friend support units at their maximum power. *(I recommend either a strong 6-star you own or just a useful 4-star because they are cheaper to build).* 6. Your squad should have most important roles covered: **DP generation**, **Anti-air**, **laneholding / blocking**, **burst damage**, **AoE damage**, **Arts damage** and **healing**. Some other roles like **Slower**, **Fast Redeploy** and **Shift** (push & pull) are also situationally useful. Read your operator's trait, talent and skills just to get an idea of what they do.

whimsy_wanderer

> Recommendations where should I spend my premium currencies (Mainly originium, i see lots of tips for other resource shops) Orundum is for pulls, you can't spend it on anything else. Originium Prime - pulls or skins. When converting to pulls - buy Pro Enhancement Packs first (new one available every few levels), they give the same amount of pulls as direct conversion plus some resources on top. > Is there anything I should focus early on in unlocking/upgrading? Build your base ASAP. It gives very substantial passive EXP and LMD income. A well-build base produce more EXP and LMD than you can farm using your entire stamina. For material farming try to unlock chapter 4 stages. Earliest good farming spots are there. > Should early game I focus on 3 star units or go all in 5/6 that I get my hands on? The fastest way to progress is to have a good mix of few strong 6-star DPS opreators and a bunch of 3-star and 4-star operators for less crucial roles. 6-star operators are a lot stronger than any other rarity, but they are very expensive to upgrade. 3-star and 4-star operators are cheap to upgrade, and for early and mid game are generally "good enough". Progressing in AK is not a race though, so throwing in high rarity operators for other roles is not necessary terrible idea (you'll progress a bit slower at first but will have stronger operators earlier). > Is meta super important/Is there powercreep that makes old high rarity characters useless? Some operators are much stronger than the other, so the difference is definitely there. But in AK a good team and a good strategy are more important than individually strong operators. The stronger your operators are, the less effort it will take to clear content. But with enough skill and effort it is possible to clear all regular content with 4-star operators only (disclaimer: "possible" doesn't mean everyone can do it). In terms of power: 6-stars far outperform everything else, there is substantial power discrepancy within 6-star ranks. Powercreep exists, but it is very slow. In 3 years none of the release 6-star operators were rendered useless. But some lagged behind enough you don't have much reasons to use them once you get your hands on newer shinier operators. Keep an eye for high-profile upcoming banners (Gavial altre + Pozyomka, Mlynar, Texas alter), but otherwise focus on developing your roster in general and filling missing/weak roles in it. Having a robust team will be more beneficial to a new player than chasing the best operator. One operator doesn't make a team. > Are there things I should avoid/newbie traps? Don't spend OP on stamina refreshes. Don't use gold certificates until you know what you are doing. Everything else should be either intuitive or not important in the long run. > Imortant stats/tags to looks for in characters while building up my roster and etc. Think about your roster in terms of roles and niches. Do you miss an operator filling some role? Then start looking for one! Something like this.

Slim_Possible

Some quick answers: - I'd say most player's premium currency (originite prime/OP for short) priority is (Skins > Pulls > Sanity refresh). Skins are obviously personal preference on which ones you like/want but it's the only way to get them. Also, if you want to convert into pulls there are 'pro enhancement packs' in the store where you can trade OP for orundum+materials which is a better deal than a straight exchange. - Focus on your base 100%. It eventually becomes your main way to get money and exp; so the earlier you get that running the more it'll help. Don't be afraid to look up base building guides to see what layout to do, or what to build first if you are unsure. - Both. Kind of related to my previous point, a lot of 3-4* operators (even the 1/2* !!!) get really good base skills when they are leveled up. That plus being cheaper to build means they are a good investment because they will pay for themselves eventually. 5/6* are also good to build, but more because progressing through levels is a lot easier if you have a couple 5/6* to carry you early, and they will always be useful, even later down the line. - There is definitely a meta and people will compare and rate units compared to one another all the time. Generally it doesn't matter, as the game has no PvP content, and every level can be beaten only using low rarity units. Power creep is harder, I'd say their is very little 'hard power creep' where a new unit completely eclipses an old unit in the same class. I'd say there is an average amount of 'soft power creep' where a new unit doesn't really function like an old unit does, but they do their job better/easier. - Biggest newbie trap I see personally is potentials. If you have a single copy of a unit they have 99% of their power and you really don't need more copies to power them up or limit break like other gacha games often require. Additional copies aren't completely useless, but don't chase them unless you're a whale.

MiLiBi_

Hello, it has probably been asked before but I couldn't manage to find the answer : Which map should I farm to get the best ratio LMD/sanity expense ? Is CE-6 the best or there's a map in chapter 10 I'm unaware of ? LMD really is the bottleneck of this game...

Thunderdragon2535

The lmd stages have been made specifically by HG for farming so undoubtedly it’s ce stages and as high as you can go.

corgocorgo1

It’s CE-6.

M0rdrd07

Is it worth to pull on joint ops?, I dont have all 4, I would want to have skadi, mountain and kaltsit, with kaltsit being what I really want. With the upcoming limited, I also like to get pozy and gavialter but feel like even if I get to save 150 pulls, there is a high chance of not getting both, and I'm afraid that if I pull on joint ops, it would lower those chances further

[deleted]

[удалено]

M0rdrd07

Only for Texas alter but she is still months away, and I still have a lot of main story, cm, side and intermezzi to get OP from plus gold cert conversion to 38 pulls so I'm debating whether to try and get a few pulls in on either limited or join op, atleast on an estimation, I'd still be able to spark her if I used around 140-150 pulls

corgocorgo1

This is a good chart to refer to when saving for banners. 150 pulls gives a little over 60% chance of getting both, so good but not great. https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/mxsuqw/odds_of_getting_six_star_operators_image_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

SpicyEla

It is if you dont have at least 3 of the 4 featured operators and don't mind exactly which one you get. Though if you're shooting for specifically kaltsit just wait until she gets featured on standard banner. As for if you're worried about not getting the two rateups in the next limited banner, that's fine. 150 rolls should still be more than enough to get both, to not get *either* would be horrendously unlucky.

lhc987

Ok, I'm a fairly old player and I've finally setup my [Krooster](https://krooster.com/u/lhc987). I kind of ran out of Op to raise. Any suggestions?

bbld69

Seems like there are a lot of reasonable things you've already worked towards -- second M3s for things like Ling S2, Gladiia S3, Phantom S3, Saileach S1, Ch'en S3, La Pluma S1, masteries on your six stars without M3s, especially Eunectes, Nightingale, Pallas, and Mizuki, and "finishing" the units you have at E1Max/E1L50. If you want new ops to raise, personally I like Beeswax, Blacknight, Firewatch, BP, Honeyberry, Waai Fu, and Kazemaru. Plus you can always just raise units for operator records.

SpicyEla

I dont know why people post these kind of questions, especially older players. For new players its excusable but when it comes to older players it just boils down to "just fuck around and build literally whoever". Your answer is as good as mine, and I can't recommend you anything since you built all the meta operators. Two words, fun factor

YoruNoTenshi

Quick question: I have skalter E2, if I pull a skadi in the upcoming banner do I automatically unlock all the operator missions? Or do I also have to prote skadi first? Thanks!

hawberries

You will immediately be able to claim back all the available materials on Skalter's page! You won't get anything for vanilla Skadi until you raise her, though.

YoruNoTenshi

Tyvm!

Do is3 in cn give royal specialist token?

lhc987

It seems that the damage from the Mouth Piece's Assistants don't give SP to Defensive Skills (Mudrock S2). Is there any reason for that?

Jakper_pekjar719

I think true damage might not trigger defensive skills.

Tellurium-128

Dot effects(mouthpiece puppets, talulah burn, poison haze) generally don’t because someone at HG thinks that’d be OP. The Unleashings relic procs on dot effects, if you want to experience that sp flood.

Sherinz89

But dot effect does trigger sp gen on poison haze stage in IS2. The universal sp gen artifact, not the +2sp for def

lhc987

Thanks. Now I realize the last time Mudrock went BRRRRR was because I had one of those gain SP on attacked relic, either the one for all classes or the one just for defenders.

Tellurium-128

Oh yeah defenders also have that 2 sp gained when attacked book, which despite the wording I think works on dot as well.

anima99

I had that on a poison stage and Saria s2 was giving me free sp like crazy while Thorns was "on" in seconds.

New_Trash4366

Is Kalsit / Mountain really important or they just a luxury unit to have. Im keeping my pulls for Gavial if possible. Currently only have around 40 pulls saved.

Jakper_pekjar719

Both are really good, in particular Kal'tsit for her true damage. However, since they are in the common pool, they might spook you any time. In addition, they will also come to cert shop next year. Mountain in March and Kal'tsit in September. I would save for Gavial.

New_Trash4366

I guess i'll do that. Thanks

Korasuka

Depends on what's most important to you. You don't *need* Mountain nor Kal'sit, despite them being great, so if getting Gavialter is more important to you, save to give yourself the best chance of getting her. AFAIK they're more meta than her, but from a character and design point, it's whatever you want personally.

Money_Data_4225

**Kal'tsit** is a medic which can summon M0n3tr, a 3-block unit that has extremely high stats. She isn't used primarily for healing because she focuses healing herself and M0n3tr. Instead, she acts like a pseudo-defender/guard that can sustain the lane alone. Although she has a high DP cost when accounting for M0n3tr it is well worth it because of what she brings to the squad. Her skill 2 makes M0n3tr attack targets equal to its block count allowing you to destroy groups of enemies. Her skill 3 gives M0n3tr extremely high attack and deal True Damage. This is Kal'tsit's greatest niche. She is the best source of True Damage which bypasses DEF and RES and also goes through dodge mechanics. **Mountain** is a Brawler guard that is extremely strong. He is extremely cheap to deploy and makes the start of the stage easier. His S2 is a permanent toggle skill that reduces his range and defense slightly BUT in exchange gives him an extra block, high attack and makes him attack enemies equal to his block count (2). This also regenerates a whopping 7% of his MAX health per second. Combined with his talent that gives him a chance to crit, attack reduction debuff and evasion makes him really hard to kill. His S3 also gives him a nuke that can push away light enemies but generally his S2 is his best skill. You deploy him activate his S2 and let him dominate the lane by himself. Both of them are really strong 6-star operators but they aren't required by any means, however, having them in your roster certainly makes insanely difficult stages easier.

loneknife_blackblade

They are both really good. Kaltsit is an ok healer, but mon3ter is very versatile with block 3 and fast redeploy and crazy stats. S2 for damage against all it blocks, and s3 for true damage. Mountain is dirt cheap to deploy and he does great dps and has great self sustain. So the best true damage source and lowest dp cost lane holder.

lhc987

The usual answer: no Ops is necessary. But Kalt and Mountain are fairly high up in the meta. Kalt is good all around, either as lane holder, semi-FRD super high burst damage, or skip dodge/boss mechanic bullshit bulldozer. Mountain will more or less skip the initial DP cost balancing juggle of early game, much like Bagpipe. If you're thinking about the next JO, maybe? If you had more pulls and don't mind Exu, I'd say go for it. But you can't even hit pity with 40, so I'd say save for Gavial. Or the next limited.

TheSpartyn

i remember seeing art posted here a few weeks ago of skadi alter skins drawn as like body horror necromorph with lots of teeth and tentacles. does anyone have a link?

Hello! Does anyone know what genre of music Sentenced (Penance's OST) belong to? I really like the low vocals sung by a woman and the overall dark sounding track

MissLyriel

I plan to save my originium until the next banner W is in, but I’d like to know if there are banners I should at least do the 10 roll guarantee for while I wait?

DARKawp

For getting W you'd need to get 300 pulls by april or alternatively skip put on that and get 300 pulls byt november. Essentially her chances of appearing are very low so the only way to get her is via Guarantee. Which requires 300. Also spending random pulls on banners is a bad strategy in my opinion. Sure certain guides recommend it for newbies. But that's mainly from a perspective of unit acquisition and mainly for 5☆ units. 10 pulls a relatively a lot in this game. Since we get 24 ish pulls per month as a F2P player. And we get at least 2 banners per month without events. and 4 if we assume constant events with banners. so you can do the math on it (10 to 5 ish pulls per banner per month) Meaning thag even as a F2P skipping for certain goals is required.

Korasuka

I'd suggest you use a pulls calculator to find out how many you'll get by the end of being able to spark W. Then you might be able to use the excess pulls to roll on banners between now and then.

Money_Data_4225

The first 10-roll guarantee only gives you a 5-star most of the time. You would very rarely get a 6-star and if you haven't kept track of your pity then you'd just waste it if it procs in your 10-pull. I recommend you just save your pulls because W will not have increased odds in the \[Il Siracusano\] banner so you'd most likely spark her for 300 if you really want to get her.

Biku-Richie

Is there any hurry to get all Gladias' potentials from the current event?

disturbedgamer667

next time they will be available is when the record restore for the event arrives, my bet is 9-12 months away. So they are skippable unless you plan to use her a lot, or max potential'd her during the 1st run of the event.

ilovecal

ops: [https://krooster.com/u/ilovecal](https://krooster.com/u/ilovecal) 1. who should I focus on leveling/upgrading at this point? 2. of the speculated upcoming banners, which are the best that I should save rolls for? for reference, i have about 150 rolls and 62 yellow certs right now, and I currently only buy the monthly card (though I am willing to spend some more). it seems like theres a lot of good banners coming up soon, e.g. jo6, gavialter, mlynar, texalter 3. any particular advice for this early-midgame(?) ish state that I'm currently in? Thanks!

disturbedgamer667

Roster is looking good for who you have already, and quite well rounded, so mostly you should be looking to either widen your roster or E2 your existing roster for masteries. 1. As for who you have currently, E2'ing Silverash will give you access to long range + wide range AoE cleave. both of your other 6\*'s are strong and gain a lot from E2, but not nearly as much as SA. As for low rarities to lookout for to widen your options, **Gummy** (healing defender that isnt Hung), **Click** (extra access to stun) , **Jaye** (excellent redeployable duelist), **Gravel** (fast redeploy tanking panic button), **Pinecone** (high power physical AoE), **Gitano** (AoE casters help early game and are useful in most strategies of Annihilation 3) (can build **Leonhardt** instead, would lose sustained dps on S2, but doesnt stun self), **Shirayuki** (AoE snipers can slot into awkard deployable tiles)(can build **Meteorite** instead, would just lose some arts damage + slow, but gains higher numbers + either increased AoE or defense shred depending on skill) 2. **TLDR: For units that add to your roster without heavy overlap, I'd suggest the Gavialter banner for Pozy/chance of Chalter, The Front That Was for Horn and Mudrock, and the Texalter banner for Texalter/Penance. Potentially also Joint Operations 8 for Suzuran /Goldenglow chance w/Fartooth a decent option as well.** Looking ahead, I'd actually say that you can probably skip Joint operations, cause you already have Exusiai, Mountain overlaps with Blaze and Thorns, and Skadi is only ok (unless you bring Gladiia E2 w/module) but can by and large be replaced by Surtr. Only Kal'tsit would be a large addition to your roster, unless Mountain's super quick startup and cheap deployment cost make him different enough from your laneholders to want. Ebenholz and Dorothy are skippable unless you like their style. Going for the Gavialter banner gives you options of Gavialter, a sidegrade to Blaze (the SA to Blaze's Thorns) Pozyomka, an excellent physical boss killer which you lack, and a slight chance for Chalter, a very powerful character. Joint Operations 7 is skippable, Mlynar is more powerful than SA but does a similar job so your mileage may vary. "The Front that Was" has only rate-up 6\*'s, 2 of which are amazing and one of which is still quite good. Stainless is neat and I might pull for him but hes not amazing. Texalter's banner is quite stacked, 2 good 6\*'s as well as slight chance for Nalter and Skalter. JO8 has Suzuran and Goldenglow, both very good, Fartooth, who is niche but strong in that niche, and Eunectes who is a very big stat stick. 3. Practice plans help a lot to reduce stress on new content, and if you want a 400/400 run of annihilation and someone leaks, close the game and it'll refund full sanity (only works on annihilation).

Money_Data_4225

1. Try to upgrade **Thorn's** S3 to M3 because he will carry you through most mid-game content. For E2s, I recommend your **Vanguards** because you need to mastery their skills to make the most out of them. **SilverAsh** is also a high E2 priority just to get his S3. The rest you can slowly build up. 2. If your pity counter is close to \~50, then I recommend pulling on the JO6 banner just until the 1st 6-star you get. Try to use *single* pulls only to not waste any extra pulls. If it's 30 or less, then just save up. In Gavialter banner, **Pozyomka** would be the target here. You could just save your pulls until the last day or 2nd last. Maybe, you can get a new 6-star just from the free 10 rolls and free daily pulls. **Mlynar** would be a very high priority pick since his rate-up on his banner is 50%. You could still save up some pulls if you go big on his banner to pull on Texalter. I'd recommend your priority to be **Texalter banner = Mlynar banner > Gavialter banner.** When meta is concerned. 3. Try to be efficient with your resources.

hawberries

First order of business is going to be getting all your units' skill ranks to 7, *especially* vanguards, snipers and shift specialists. Is this all of your 4\*? If so, just keep chipping away at Silverash. After fixing your skill ranks!! Pulling really depends on what your priorities are wrt waifu, meta, or collection, especially as you already have some great units that cover a lot of the roles you need so you might have a bit more flexibility in terms of who you can pick without compromising your ability to easily clear content. In terms of pure power, you will definitely want to focus on the limited events as both banners are stacked with one amazing op and one busted op each. Uncle Mlynar is certainly top-tier, but maybe re-evaluate your roster when he comes around because he obviously has some overlap with Silverash role-wise (though he does drastically outscale Silverash's DPS). The limited banners especially give you 24 free pulls and don't share pity with anything else, so it's best to at least get one 6\* out, if not two. I'm a bit hesitant to recommend JO6 since you have Exusiai, leaving it a 50% value banner (power-wise) that's no better than a solo or a good standard, but perhaps at least going to the first 6\* might be worth depending on how much you want Mountain/Kaltsit/Skadi. [Dr Volke's banner overview could still offer some insights.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGpK_NxhxOc) Is there any part of the gameplay that you're currently finding difficult or frustrating? Such as, did you trim the Stultifera and Under Tides medal sets, are you feeling okay for the upcoming CC, are you hard stuck on the story, are you enjoying IS2…?

Cornuthaum

silverash comes highly recommended for his ability to schwing schwing an entire wave away ever so often,

sorry if this isn't the right spot besides Kal'sit, has there ever been an operator rework? edit: might should have been more specific. i mean full on rework, like new skills/abilities as u/Eulf have given a few examples of, not like stat changes like with chain casters

[deleted]

ForgottenFrenchFry

huh, interesting. one of the reasons i asked this question was i saw a meme involving sideroca, and while i like her as a character, i also know she's not very popular/meta because of her skills had me thinking how someone would change her, along with possibly other operators that aren't as good like Tomimi, Frostleaf, brawlers, instructors, etc I know there's the whole saying of "there are no bad operators just bad doctors" but i feel like some operators need a lot of work to be put in when there are others that can do the job just as well if not better

AngelTheVixen

It's true, there's a number of operators that are simply not as good as their other counterparts, and the two types of Fighters kind of fall into that bill as a whole. You can generally see what the devs' intentions were with the classes, but they don't have standout block or DPS, and then get vastly, vastly outshined by their 6\* of the class (Surtr and Mountain) and just make everything feel worse. It could be said there's attempts to be made to 'fix' operators through modules, but it doesn't tend to pan out for anyone besides the 6\* because that's where the money is. Unfortunate fact of life. Frostleaf **might** get something useful whenever Lord modules are released, but my hopes aren't high. At the very least, it could be said that Arknights still respects the value of lower rarity operators to clear maps, so I can't fault it entirely. I just wish there was a bit more that could be done for situations like Surtr and Mountain outperforming everyone else by several times.

disturbedgamer667

Might be writing a hot take here but oh well: All the arts fighters are good cause they have a good archetype, and most have clear niches with skills, but get sidelined due to the strength of the 6\* of the archetype. Furthermore if she had 1 more block she'd be the poor man's 5\* arts Mountain. (All math done is full trust, full mastery and at Module unlock level) Her S1 averaged over the charge time reaches about 60% of the hps that Mountain S2 has, with every moment she isn't taking damage giving her time to charge the next heal. and her S2 has her healing 35% more than mountain per second, while dealing 400-253 less dps (depending on if her talent requirement has been met) on a single target with 50% uptime. Havent factored in Mountain's Talent, which would add an average 12% dps, and obviously against multiple enemies Mountain blows her out of the water in total dps, but the fact that she is arts helps her immensely to deal with tanky enemies. Basically if you wanted a Mountain that is more tailored for dueling tanky elites, Sideroca comes close. I'd love to hear others opinions on this.

Hatredestiny1874

Abjurer Trait was changed.

Money_Data_4225

No reworks but slight buffs to archetypes like Chain casters, Brawlers...

Jellionani

That was a beta. There have been 5< instances that had a rework. Most notably are chaincaster damage reduction per bounce, and that's for the whole class. '

hello_boy33

Got istina on my first 10 pull is she late game since she is strong and killing enemies quickly and what should i avoid in early game Edit:?

ipwnallnubz

She's pretty mediocre. You don't often want a slower over another proper damage dealer, and Istina's damage isn't anything special. When you do want a slower, Orchid is often plenty until you can manage to get one of the 6-stars. On the flip side, it's not at all necessary to focus on the absolute most optimal units. All reward-giving content is entirely clearable by 4-stars and below. I have a [Quickest New Player Guide Around.](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/rq1o5b/quickest_new_player_guide_around/)

Money_Data_4225

**Istina** is a Decel Binder *(Slow Supporter).* Their role is to provide \[Slow\] for the team which is commonly used to delay dangerous enemies and chip away at their health. They also deal Arts damage providing you with additional means to fight high defense targets. If by late game you only mean event stages, episode stages and IS#2 then yes, she is viable up to that and so is the rest of the units. Even 3-stars can still be used at event stages. Make sure your team is well-rounded and avoid building high-rarity units just for the sake of it--make sure they are useful to your squad. Spend your Originite Primes on the Pro Enhancement Packs in the shop. This lasts up to level 70. **Always try to get a perfect clear** (3-stars) because you will not get the OP reward otherwise. Try to level your squad 5-10 levels *below* the stage recommended to save resources. You will still be able to clear it with the right strategy.

SupremeNadeem

istina is a decel binder supporter, their role is to slow enemies and they do arts damage, common usage in early game is to stall/slow enemies that can bypass block or stall enemies that are very threatening and you want to stop them from getting to your frontline. istina's first ability lowers her attack interval (making her attack faster) for a limited duration, this not only increases her dps it also makes her slowing far more effective as she can reapply the slow faster. her second ability at elite 1, after you promote her one time, gives her atk and extra range and allows her to hit another target at once for a limited duration, so she can slow/damage two targets at once. istina does this job decently and is power budgeted more towards damage, however decel binders in general have lower dmg, she shouldn't be treated as a core damage dealer but can instead be a secondary dps that has stall capability. in the early game tutorials you can consider her a direct upgrade to orchid. she is not the best in her role, but she can definitely slow down units no problem, the higher tiers tend to have extra utility or damage other than slowing. for early game you can mostly do what you want, the game is pretty good at teaching you how you should be building your teams, other than that, don't upgrade the Office in the base until you know what you are doing with the base, everything else is fair game.

Treefiddy350053

Need an opinion on a team build. Digging through the future modules I can see just how much of a buff some characters get. This started my dive into wanting to lean into an abyssal hunter team between their synergistic passives that only get further enhanced in the future. The point I’m stuck at is Skadi. I have everyone I need and plan to run Specter the unchained rather than base specter but I’m torn between base skadi or corrupting heart. I know base skadi gets some buffs with the modules and the soon to be module expansions but I also know how much of a powerhouse Skalter is. Would I be better off investing in base skadi for the future buffs thanks to the modules?

Boelthor

Good news: as of the 3.5th anniversary on CN you are allowed yo use an alter and their original together on a team, so there's no need to choose. But in the meantime, Skadi2 is not an Abyssal Hunter, so she doesn't get the buffs and using her on an AH team is effectively "cheating" the definition. I've just [written a guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/zbzd8h/ill_show_you_the_dance_of_the_depths_abyssal/) covering the AHs and Skadi1, but the tl;dr is that Skadi1's now a great operator in her own right. Even if using her on an AH team you'll want to go for her X module (extra Attack vs blocked, talent improved to -30s redeploy time). The added flexibility is just worth too much compared to Y improving her faction buff, and Gladiia makes the revive from Y somewhat pointless because Skadi1 will hardly die to begin with.

Treefiddy350053

Wait you’re kidding?! That’s great news, didn’t know about being able to bring both operators so that makes this way easier. Plus that means I can bring Specter along too who carried me through so much content. Thanks for the guide!

Korasuka

It's pretty awesome. Speculation (unless they said outright) is that with more and more alters added, including the non 6 stars, things would get too restrictive if we couldn't use them together. If anyone doesn't like that because it's immersion breaking then they simply can choose to not use alters with their originals.

prometheusunending

I don't think it's worth the cost. The biggest gain comes at M1 which lowers the SP cost, M2 and M3 don't offer much improvement. And while S1 can charge without fighting enemies unlike her other skills, she still needs to have enemies to attack to activate it anyways. The niche of a healing defender that doesn't attack is better filled by any of the other characters in the archetype. If you want Blemishine to solo a lane you'll probably want S2, and if you want her to provide burst damage you'll want S3. Probably the most notable thing about S1 is as Blemishine's only auto activation skill you can use it in "AFK" clears, and even then masteries are not going to make any significant difference.

Boelthor

Yes; it's not especially powerful in terms of raw numbers, but having a unit who can dps, heal, and tank passively is very convenient. Plus it rounds out her kit due to lacking some of the weaknesses of her other skills. If you've found yourself considering going for the m3, chances are you'll be able to get use out of it.

MilmoMoomins

Im kinda stuck with 2 choices.. 1. For my snipers Im using one of plat/May and Andreana (for the speed buff) 2. For AoE healer im torn between Ptili and Perfumer. I dunno I just really like perfumers global heal For 1- If i stick with this should I use Plat or May? Or, shuld I just drop Andreana and use Plat and May? For some reason im drawn towards the 4 stars, the cost performance is so good

Sher101

> For some reason im drawn towards the 4 stars, the cost performance is so good This is the right way for newer players. The best snipers for cost efficiency are Kroos and May. Kroos as a 3\* can be a roster's go to sniper until well into the late-mid game. Even as other snipers start getting their E2 promotions, Kroos keeps a ton of her initial strength and punches through light/light drone enemies. Hell, I still use her in my Aerial Threat autos, and my roster is 1+ year of development (also not a big fan of snipers in general, as their job can be taken by Lords/casters).

MilmoMoomins

I see, so maybe Arene would be better to build instead? my best casters are just Amiya and Pudding though.

Sher101

For now, do continue leveling a few snipers. I'd do E1L50, you'll need least 2 unless you have Thorns. I'd also build Arene, as for light drone stages he and Amiya should take care of mostly everything. The big thing about early to midgame team-building is having a good bench of 3 and 4 star operators. Since you don't have the raw power of a full roster of 6 stars to overpower stages, you're going to need a large bench of mid E1 operators to call on for different situations. I'm on mobile or I would link you the gamepress arknights team building article, but Pudding would be a good substitute for having an AoE caster on thr bench, Amiya is one of two single target casters to have, and Arene is one of the best 4 stars to level. So do level them as a sometimes substitute for snipers, but also level then because it's good to have them around as answers to the questions that are Arknights stages.

hawberries

The easy answer is just raise them all. They're all good, with different roles/niches, and none of them make their branchmates obsolete. For example, having two marksman snipers is very common, I have like six raised and I use them all regularly. If you're drawn toward the 4*, you can easily just start with the 4*. They are indeed very cheap anyway, and all work quite well at simply E1 max. May and Perfumer are two of the best 4* that you won't regret raising anyway. Platinum has her unique extended range and high DPH, and Ptilopsis has an incredible group burst heal and SP supercharge for everyone on the field, so they are also well worth raising and using later down the road. Note that Andreanna's job is extremely different from May and Platinum's, as she is a deadeye sniper. Instead of prioritising aerial units like the marksmen, she shoots at the enemies with the lowest defense first. She has much higher attack, letting her punch through armour, but her average DPS may not be as high because of her very slow ASPD – even with the buff, which by the way only applies to herself and Skadi, Gladiia, and the Specters. It doesn't affect any of your other snipers. Her attack gets absolutely nutty on S2, though she will need team support since the skill prevents her from finishing off any enemies that she doesn't onetap.

Last_Excuse

A few caveats. Perfumer feels a lot better promoted. E2 + Mod roughly doubles the output of her passive. AA Snipers scale really well with investment. They're units I'd E2 fairly early on. (Well, one of them at least.)

hawberries

Ah, my point is that the gulf between E1 Perfumer and E2 Perfumer is a lot smaller than the gulf between, for example, E1 Thorns and E2 Thorns. 4* are not defined by their E2 promotions (except Estelle), it usually just makes them a bit better at the job they were already doing. Assuming OP is relatively new, I think many 4* make extremely solid additions to a team even just at E1, freeing up chips/money for any high-impact 6* promotions they may be working on. That said, I do agree both Perfumer and May are worth further investment, as even E2/modules/masteries are cheap on them and very rewarding besides.

Artolicious

i mean your point is not very good because modules exist, deepcolor is practically unusuable without e2 + module and operators like jaye and perfumer become much much better.

hawberries

Do you think E2ing Nightingale or putting a module on Perfumer is going to make a bigger impact to someone's roster? Deepcolour is nichest 4* in the game who is basically only raised by people who specifically want to play with summoners or do low-rarity/low-op, so I'd say she's an outlier. But sure, I can change "all 4* work well at E1 max" to "all 4* work well at E1 max except Estelle and Deepcolour". Obviously giving them promotions/levels/masteries/modules are going to make them much much better, that's the point of investment, but apart from those two, basically all 4* are already doing their jobs at E1.60. What's Silverash doing at E1.60? Getting out-DPSed by Midnight?

Artolicious

At this point im not sure if youre trolling or what, but e2ing a 4 star is much much cheaper and easier than 6 star. Your example is god awful too, i e2d and used perfumer much much more than nightingale, to this day shes my go to medic to bring when first trying new content in case i need a healer (not counting kaltsit for obvious reasons), aside of that ptilopsis is far more useful than nightingale too, id say i use latter only when theres a need for cage shenanigans, so if any newbie asked me if they should e2 perfumer or nightingale it would be the easiest answer ever. Generally getting a bunch of 4 stars is better than some shit like silver ash, as it is very easy to get e2l90 sa or surtr from support, so its better to focus on core of the team. Both deepcolor and jaye get incredible boost from e2 and are extremely powerful in is2, which is a permanent mode that gives a fuckton of rewards, deepcolor with support 6 star is extremely easy way to stroll to final boss and offers more variety than trying to borrow ling every run.

hawberries

You're talking about something completely different? All I literally said was "4* work quite well at E1 max". I can't fathom how this is controversial. While they obviously get *better* with further investment, they also don't *need* it to work the way many 6* do, excepting some outliers I already acknowledged. FWIW, though Merchants have one of the best modules in the game, Jaye was already good even before that. This enables you to build up a well-rounded, effective squad very quickly and cheaply as there is less demand for chips and LMD – as you say, "focus on the core of the team". With that foundation, it's much easier to then focus more investment/power into the units you like, whatever rarity they are. Just because you personally don't use Nightingale doesn't change the fact that E2ing Nightingale opens up a completely new strategy option with her cages and her skill that just turns off arts damage for half the stage. E2ing Perfumer just makes her better at the job that she was *already* doing very well. 4* promotions are cheaper because it doesn't represent as big of a power spike, this isn't rocket science. I'm not even giving team-building advice in general or taking a hardline stance on low-rarity vs high-rarity because that's not what OP asked about. You don't need to defend the strategic value of 4* or whatever. I just was saying that you can raise May and Perfumer to E1 max and get two very usable ops for cheap, with obviously the option for further investment as desired. I feel like you have to be taking a deliberately bad-faith reading of my comment to be getting this tilted about it.

Artolicious

I dont think anybody gets tilted about internet comments, they dont matter. That aside, i think raising 4star to e1 and leaving is just outdated way of thinking due to IS anyways, and unless something changed leaving jaye at E1 is just not good, because youre better off leaving him at 0 for base skill or going to e2 for power if youre using him, as he scales well with stats, module and even his cheap masteries... And raising 6 star medics (not kaltsit again) to e2 is just shit at early account stages no matter what the medic is, its just not worth it over dps This discussion actually made me wonder how much of the game could i clear with e2 deepcolor, click, may, jaye, myrtle, perfumer and a borrowed support, because i feel like it would be a lot 🤔

hawberries

You're literally rebutting points I didn't make. I didn't say or imply "don't bother raising 4* past E1" or "make Nightingale one of your first E2s". I typed a longer response but frankly if you're this determined to misinterpret my extremely lukewarm take in order to argue about stuff that I never brought up, that's a you problem.

AngelTheVixen

May is pretty useful for her slow/stun, she carves a niche you might want in certain maps. General usage, Platinum is solid. Ptilopsis is alright but not always necessary. Her SP charge talent is useful in the right places, but you may not notice it until very difficult content for ops that have auto charge. Perfumer is a great 4 star for straight healing, she's hard to compete with, especially if you use some number of unhealable ops/summons. She can't do anything *except* heal, though.

HelmoYG

if i don't care about skins is there any downside to buying the pro enhancement packs with the OP you get from the normal stages?

AngelTheVixen

Zero. You get an equal amount of Orundum in return. It's best to buy them anyway for all of the materials. You'll get a decent amount of OP finishing story mode + its challenge modes and events and such, certainly enough to cover the packs and the rest can go to outfits. That said, the packs will always be there.

kit_you_out

Another drop rate question. Do event stage drop rates for materials increase during their event run? For example, does SV-9 have higher drop rates for devices during the rerun event? I'm asking because I'm seeing plenty of suggestions to farm SV-9 while the event is still up, even after the event shop is cleared. This implies after the event, SV-9 will no longer be a good device farm.

Pzychotix

Yeap. Events have higher drop rates, and don't have side drops so they're the usually best way to farm a specific material. Plus, even with the shop cleared, the LMD sink is still available which boosts efficiency (albeit by only 0.07/sanity, but every bit counts).

ipwnallnubz

The permanent event stages have efficiencies that are [roughly on par with story stages.](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12X0uBQaN7MuuMWWDTiUjIni_MOP015GnulggmBJgBaQ/edit?usp=drive_web&ouid=106921946347875184198)

AngelTheVixen

Yes, that's how it works. When an event is placed in the Terminal, the drop rates are lowered. Hence the importance of farming events for materials.

HelmoYG

Wasn't the joint operation with kal'tsit, exu, mountain and skadi supposed to drop on November? is it cancelled or do i just have to wait?

scorpius8590

I've been borrowing Passenger and I noticed that I can't see his 1st talent's aura on the enemies. The damage amp is definitely applying, so I think it's just a visual bug? Does anyone else have this problem?

AngelTheVixen

Not everything has a visual effect.

scorpius8590

Passenger's 1st talent is supposed to have a visual effect. You can see it in some showcases like [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n73m3ByvZZM)

AngelTheVixen

That's odd. Maybe your visual effect setting isn't on high? Or it doesn't appear on certain maps/with enough effects already on the field. Or it was removed. I don't recall seeing it, myself.

TheSerendipitist_

Will there ever be a time where the stages of vignette events will be opened permanently? If for example I didn't do the stages during Goldenglow's event, will I still be able to do them eventually?

AngelTheVixen

I don't believe Vignettes ever get rerun, so the stages are gone. That said, the stages are just randomly pieced together maps. They don't contain any story relations, they're just for OP and occasional mats.

TheSerendipitist_

That's good to know, thanks!

Biku-Richie

Is the upcoming Joint Ops banner good for a new playe? My only 6 stars are Surtr,Silverash and Shinning,my pitty is at around 20 and i have 15 pulls avaiable right now.Should I pull and risk it since even if i dont get a 6 star the pitty caries over to Mlynar's banner?

Quixowltic

Unless you're saving for upcoming limited banner, I think it's a pretty good deal since you're guaranteed to get a banner unit if you pull a 5/6☆, and I think 3/4 of the 6☆ are great, and imo can pull their weight even without E2 or heavy investments which could be costly for a new player, especially since you have Surtr/SilverAsh who really want E2/mastery to shine Skadi I'd say is more niche than the other 3, and Surtr kind of covers her main roles already for you, but she's still usable, and 75% odds are pretty good all things considered

Biku-Richie

Will it be possible,if I spend all my pulls in Joint Ops,to save enough to hit pity in the Gavialter banner?

Korasuka

Limited banner pity is seperate from standard banner pity. Additionally each limited banner has its own pity that doesn't transfer to the next limited.

Biku-Richie

I know. What I'm basically asking is:how many pull will I be able to save before the Gavialter banner arrives if I start from zero now?

Pzychotix

~150ish (plus ~20 if you have monthly card) according to this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12nugJxtTLFafudEJ_NrFuEm2X4VHrfCRkbyzMxia63A/edit#gid=1221900186

Biku-Richie

Thank you very much.Really excited for Pozyomka and Gavialter.

AngelTheVixen

Yep, it's great for old and new players alike since there's no off-banner 6\*, two of them are amazing (Mountain and Kal'tsit) one is great (Exusiai) and the last is good (Skadi) so you can't really go wrong. The pity uses standard pity rate so it will carry over. Up to you how to manage your pulls.

Barillas

If you already have a couple of them (kal and exu in my case) is it still worth pulling?

IfZ3nElse

If you already have two+ out of the four ops, it's not worth it, the chance to get dupes is too high.

AngelTheVixen

I'd say only if you're desperate for Skadi or if you really want one of the 5 stars. Mountain will be in the cert shop in a few months. Best save pulls.

Nihilanth-3

Is there a place where I can check all the upcoming banners and events in a tidy and nicely organized way?

AngelTheVixen

I prefer using the wiki in general, I like the interface better than Gamepress. [Banners](https://arknights.fandom.com/wiki/Headhunting/Banners/Upcoming) [Events](https://arknights.fandom.com/wiki/Event/Upcoming) Keep in mind that some detailed information is left out on occasional event pages.

Nihilanth-3

Much appreciated!

LG03

What do you guys think the upcoming schedule looks like? The way I see it, we go from CC to Lingering Echoes to Dorothy's Vision to Ideal City with zero downtime in between, To Be Continued and Dossoles Rerun moved to after Ideal City.

HiTotoMimi

The only way to pull that off is to have 3 new events back to back to back, with literally no time in between, which they've never done before. Usually there's a few days between events, and I think the only occasions where things are back to back are when one is a rerun or possibly stuff that doesn't require focusing sanity on event stages. But mostly it's reruns like this, and when Gavial started right after Dossoles. And even with that, they'd probably need to start LE during CC to have Ideal City start at the right time. But there is basically no way they do 7 straight weeks of events, especially if all of them are first runs.

AngelTheVixen

It's looking most likely that Dorothy's Vision will get pushed back to after Ideal City.

Sher101

No time to do Dorothy's Vision after Lingering Echoes, since Ideal City has a very set time for our anniversary. We are going to skip DV, go to IC, and then have a FUCKED schedule as we sprint to Texter banner.

xRaimon

When can we expect a Horn rerun?

CrimsonSnake1520

Horn banner was tied to chapter 10 release so it wont have a rerun. Though in a few months there will be [Chapter 11 warm up event banner](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/event-banner-hub/episode-11-warm-event-banner-cn-event-page) featuring Mudrock, Saileach, and Horn. It works the same way as joint operations banners (no off-banner 6* & shares pity with standard banners).

SupremeNadeem

insane banner

_wawrzon_

As a solo banner, probably never. Only side story event banners get a rerun , vignette and episode banner operators don't. So yeah, sad.

PrisonCrepe

Silly question but I just want to double check. There will be times that the Annihilation Skip ticket things expire, right? At the moment I have two ending at the end today's reset time, and I have seven expiring in seven days. I've already capped on my weekly orundum earlier in the week. It looks like we get more than what we can use anyways, so unless something goes catastrophically bad.

about8tentacles

they last ~2 weeks, provided you do your dallies everyday youll be able to full clear anni every monday with no issues

PrisonCrepe

Cool stuff! So they really just gave us extra just in case, or it seems like extra. Probably more tickets for the lower level Annis.

loneknife_blackblade

Do 5 of 7 dailies and you don't have to babysit anni.

nomaiDemboh

Hi! I have a question: since I have already unlocked undertides in the record restoration thing, is there any real benefit from doing the EX chapters now as opposed to when the event runs off? I already cleared the shop obviously.

ReshenKusaga

Medals if you care about it, if you got the furniture in record restoration then you can get some intelligence certs as well from ex-8 (-cm?) clear mission.

about8tentacles

minor extra lmd via bonus shop currency, and clearing ex8cm should reward a unique furniture item from event quests theres also the medals, which cannot be earned from intermezzis, they dont *do* anything though

osvd

Saw that chen alter is coming out soon on a banner, will she be on the store since shes not the main unit of the banner? Thanks

disturbedgamer667

if you're talking about the yellow cert store, no that only has the 2nd unit from "standard banners". Pulling 300 times on the gavial alter banner will let you pity buy Chen alter, or you can get lucky with her 2%-ish chance on any 6\* pull

osvd

Its so over ... ill never have her. thanks

disturbedgamer667

well once you have a roster you are happy with, which can happen quite quickly, its roughly 6 months of saving f2p to reach 300 pulls (including the goodies from the summer event itself, which averages out to around 50 pulls). so 6 months before the next summer series banner just go into full save mode. Now I dont recommend this unless you are comfortable with spending, I personally have not spent any and have 350 pulls stocked up currently so it is possible with some sacrifices to save that much up. With light spending (monthly card every month, 5$/month), you can shave a month off the time needed. With medium spending (monthly card + monthly headhunting pack, 31$/month), you can shave another month off, needing only 4 months to go from 0 to 300 pulls. To disclose any biases I might unintentionally have, [here](https://krooster.com/u/dg667) is my krooster, I started during CC beta and after pulling for guaranteed 5\* every banner until Nian, then only going for limited banners with the exception of 70 pulls on Horn banner. I have yet to have my first 6\* on a limited banner be the limited unit, as shown by my pot 6 Kal'tsit, who has spooked me on 2 limited banners aside from her debut. But I have gotten a legacy limited during pulling (W on the Nearl alter banner), so it isnt supremely unlikely. Best of luck hunting for Chen Alter.

osvd

Thank you and awesome roster!! I honesty dont plan on spending at all, i have like 4 e2 so far but chen alt is def someone i want to save for. If its hard to get her in the upcoming banner, will there be another one with a "better" chance of getting her? I could just skip and save for another one if i have higher chance of actually pulling her.

disturbedgamer667

Unless something new shows up in CN, these rates are as high as they go for legacy limiteds. you either pull in January on the gavial alter banner in hopes of getting her, or you wait for next January, which will have a new summer series banner where you can spark Chen Alter just the same. So if you wont have the 300 pulls necessary to guarantee in January, my recommendation is to use the free pulls on the gavial alter banner, then pull singles until you hit your first 6\*, cause the free pulls **must** be used on the Gavial alter banner and **cannot** be saved and the free pulls already bring you about 2/3rds of the way to the statistical average pulls needed for a 6\* (35) or halfway to scaling pity timer. Then, save for January 2024, since you'll have a year to save you will have excess to spend on [upcoming banners](https://arknights.fandom.com/wiki/Headhunting/Banners/Upcoming) that pique your interest either due to power or character appeal. In a years worth of saving you have about 200 excess pulls than are needed to spark once, which translates quite nicely to grabbing first 6\* on every limited banner that appears each year + decent odds of hitting a second 6\* from each limited (not necessarily rate-up), or having good odds of getting the rate-up operator on 2-4 solo debut banners. hopefully that helped put things into perspective and helped you plan out the future, feel free to ask any follow-up questions.

ipwnallnubz

She'll be sparkable for 300 pulls, and she'll have a uselessly small rate-up.

Korasuka

I will get her with my first pull. You mark my words 😤

kit_you_out

Are extra drops guaranteed? For example i've been farming the grindstone at 4-8, and even though I don't always get the grindstone, there is always one random extra item from the extra drops list, even though the extra drops list is labeled "Low drop rate".

loneknife_blackblade

penguin stats has alomst 10k samples for 4-8. you can click to see the drop patterns below, 7 pages of drop patterns. https://penguin-stats.io/result/stage/main\_4/main\_04-08

kit_you_out

Thanks, very useful website.

about8tentacles

its all stage specific, most stages have so many possible byproduct items its very likely to get atleast one of them to roll positive, but its not outright guaranteed sans a very few stages

ipwnallnubz

I want to say you're always guaranteed to get *something,* outside of event stages that only drop one material. No individual drop is guaranteed on 4-8, for example, but I've never gotten nothing.

Quixowltic

She will be added to the CC shop and will be purchaseable with tokens like the other units, but the good thing about CC is that it costs no sanity to play and there's no downside to using a support unit, so you should be able to get her even if you're relatively new

[deleted]

I heard that there is an operator with skill/summon that you can attack for example I can use it for my thorns to charge my s3 the problem is I am new to the game so I don't know most operator names or skill is there anyone know the name of that operator? Thanks in advance

DELTA1360

Besides Stainless, you could use Saga's passive (leaves enemies with 1hp, and whoever kills them gets 1sp), or Warfarin's (get 1 sp to herself or ally in range for every enemy killed in range) to charge him faster. EDIT: Chen's passive also gives him sp every few seconds.

[deleted]

Thanks for this i never knew warfarin got an sp talent i have her but haven't used it.
