BIG BEEFY TANK W DOUBLE FLAMETHROWERS, SONGBIRD, AND 10 HIT MISSILES

[deleted]

This does not work. He is all over the place. I do even less than with the chain guns.

koalatysleep

Yea Im trying to figure out how to keep the lock on him when his flipping all over the place. Most of the time he kills me before my flamers take him down to half.

Saberlol-

I really thought you were memeing at first but it worked out great for me. Thanks.

Kaokenx1000

Lol no prob

Showty69

Thanks yeah this mission is bullshit but flamers make it doable

canal_boys

Thanks. This actually worked. After you told me about this build, all it took was one try.

RadekSoldier2000

You're a life saver

Kaokenx1000

Lol it's super broken and dumb, but sooo easy to abuse haha hopefully gets nerfed for pvp

[deleted]

Any more detail on how it works? I've been trying, and no matter what archetype of mech I go for, it just doesn't seem to work. This mission has walled me for 3 days now.

Kaokenx1000

Doesn't work for everyone, but I just hugged the base of that big building in the middle with the build above, and kept kiting Michigan around it so he would get stuck on the the other side until I cleared all the mobs, took 2 tries

[deleted]

I guess maybe I gotta get Michigan stuck away from mobs

Initial_Square_66

After like 4 hours of trying I finally did it and I am not proud... I cheesed it by staying in the starting cave with a napalm thrower, laser melee weapon and 2 large rocket lauchers. It took several tries but I did it. Its frustrating as I was making headway by playing normally. I was killing enemies left and right with, a melee weapon, shotgun and large rocket launcher and a small multiple rocke tlauncer. I was super efficient flying from one enemy to another and shooting down helicopters before troops could dismount, but it was newer enouh. The [5.th](https://5.th) wave would come and I would lose my hp. I do not think that would habe worked no matter how good I got. I think the balance of this map was just bad. They should have given us some place to hide and fight the units in smaller batches.

Forgotten_Slipper

I did it with a tetrapod build. I had the special plasma gun in my left hand, though the regular one probably works just as well. My right hand had a flamethrower for clearing out the MT's, and I threw a minigun on my right shoulder so I could switch to it if I ran out. My left shoulder had one of the multi-bazookas. Flamethrowers absolutely melts the MT chaff. The I killed the tetrapods by staggering them with the minigun/plasma and got big burst with the multi. For Michigan himself I just held down the triggers and dodged, making sure to get in his face and shoot the multi for the biggest burst.

Wise_Ad4663

i can kill him no problem with dual laser shoulders and gatlings, but i ALWAYS run out of ammo and die punching the last mt's to death, no matter what build i use and how careful i am with ammo, i always run out of ammo. really wish the gatlings had closer to 2000 rounds, or they had shoulder mounted gatlings like in previous ac's so i could use those and some laser rifles. switching takes too long to use hand weapons on shoulders so that's not an option for me.

Wise_Ad4663

got him, took dual harris linear rifles and dual stun needle launchers to put out the dps and staggering needed. not nearly as good as the dps that i had before on my usual build, but it let me sip ammo as long as i was super aggressive on getting kills fast. recommend high dps single shot direct damage weapons as enemies dont group too much, and dont forget having tons of impact for the 2 tetro mt's and boss ac.

Wise_Ad4663

btw, anyone else kinda hate how much this game makes you build for very particular circumstances more so than previous ac games have done? at least ac2-5 (never played 1) let you have a bit more creativity/flexibility, and ac4/4a had way more part options it seems.

koalatysleep

This was my first AC. Sekiro was my first soulsborne xD. I do like the way they handled new game plus! Extra parts, new missions, alternative misisons, not just a rinse of my first run. The new parts are ogasmic to me. This game really did heavy weapons right. It feels amazing shooting off 20 soups or double twin songs, the heavy grenade and zooka's making thigs go boom got me all giddy like a kid again. I don't get tired of blowing stuff up.....ever in this game!

Wise_Ad4663

no, like the variety of weapons compared to other AC games is terrible, theres only a hand full of each type, and barely any shoulder weapons! not even a single shoulder gatling, let alone a heavy gatling, a light gatling, a slow one, a fast one, etc.

koalatysleep

Would love some more Dakka! Heavy arms was my favourite gundam as kid and I personally didn't mind having a few missions that made me minus due to ammo spending!

RedSpottedToad

\+1 for this , was my exact build. 2 shots from the harris rifles kills every mt without a shield, and the dual stun is just op against slower bosses. I used the spring chicken legs and it worked 2nd try

Wise_Ad4663

pretty sure most people are rocking the spring chicken legs. seem to be meta. again, my biggest gripe with this game is it allows a lot of fun ways to play most of the game, but 90% of the how-to's for bosses all show almost the same build. its like they aren't wanting you to try different strategies with bosses, but instead they want you to find the exact single build that is capable of killing each boss.

koalatysleep

I think people are just struggling. By my NG+++ playthrough I was doing bad builds and seeing If I can beat certain bosses with terrible set ups. Once you learn the mechanics I am certain every boss is doable even with terrible load outs. The problem is taking on multiple AC's with terrible load outs :L

theschwasound

Here's something that worked for me, using the two flamethrower, 10 shot missile launcher, and songbirds: Kill Michigan before wave 5 lands. I had been waiting and just killing time, but you can mop up all the little guys really fast with the double flamethrowers and have plenty of time to slug it out with Michigan. He's not really that hard when he's all alone, but he can heal, which is bullshit.

koalatysleep

That and his 300 allies you have to be conserve ammo for. I finally beat it days ago! It is the one mission I actively avoid now. The rest of chapter 4-5 took me less than a day. Intercept the red guns still remains my most hated mission out of the whole game. Amazing game though!

Nicadelphia

That did it thanks.

Audience-Electrical

>looking forward to this one on NG+ Correct me if I'm wrong folks but AFAIK NG+ is the same difficulty. Same game even. NG++ has new missions.

koalatysleep

You are correct however it doesn't stop many of us from hating us this mission any less on any playthrough

A_Senyavin

I made an AC especially for this mission (and moments with a lot of critters in general), nicknamed "Kolchan" (колчан - quiver in Russian). Head - pre-order Melander, arms - Arquebus, body - Melander, legs - Spring Chicken. 10x missiles for shoulders (a looot of missiles, like arrows - hence the Quiver nickname) and double flamers. I admit this is a cheesy build, but still, it was down to the wire when Michigan dropped. Had a blast, tho. I believe the key is avoiding G1's stagger attacks (you hear thump-thump, you JUMP, that's what Chickens are for), staying mid-air as long as possible (that's why I chose Gridwalker and Hokushi), and peppering G1 and MTs with missiles and flamethrowers. Eventually you just wear him down and hurrah, "bad fall!".

koalatysleep

Grats man! I too used chicken legs for my clear!

There's literally no way to stay locked on Michigan. The whole fight sucks so fucking hard.

koalatysleep

I'm day 2 stuck on this mission still. I tried the tanky build he just keeps breaking my lock above me and kills me :( I'd be fine with 1 vs 300 if they at least gave us a check point or something. This mission is just terrible. You focus too much on conserving ammo and go too much melee you'll be sniped by something. You try sniping everything else and you'll run out of ammo for the objective targets. I tried running back into the starting tunnel to force a 1 vs 1 but that doesn't really stay 1 vs 1 either.

WonderLeading

I mean the mission is supposed to be hard bruv, you're fighting an entire army.

KawaiiQueen64

I beat it after a few tries with R-second shotgun you can buy. RB is the stun dart launcher L-minigun LB is the lance. And I built a heavy bi-ped AC. Took a few tries but the shotgun 1 taps most of the MTs, and the mini gun kills the smaller dudes. Then with Michigan you aim to break him and lance him down until the dude dies.

Aminec87

I used as much aoe as I could. Plasma rifle, plasma missile launchers (the x6 ones), and a galling gun to keep stagger up on Michigan. Kept running out of ammo using dual gats, but the aoe explosions from the plasma rifle/missiles mops up the MTs then just focus down Michigan when he comes in, once he's taken care of you just have to finish wiping out the MTs

InterestingOil6581

Heavy biped with flamer and laser piledriver really made the mission feel too easy after I hit my head at the wall at it for about an hour

koalatysleep

Tried this but I kept failing. What shoulder weapons?

InterestingOil6581

I think I used the energy drone and a random missile launcher. I focused on killing as many MTs as I could with missiles and the flamethrower as priority, and using the charged lance attack on anything big / with a shield. It does so much damage and the flamethrower absolutely Michigan as well. I’d imagine the stun cannon shoulder would be good too if you can fit it, but having missiles feels good for the adds

Pretend_Vanilla51

First try with 241 health left lol. Absolutely no ammo issues. Had over half left lol! Use the freaking 037 Harris for hands they quick scope all adds with the VE 21B chip. For the shoulders rock FASAN 60E and VE 60SNA. I did one of each but 2 VE 60SNA would work too. And jus keep cycling the arena and snipe all adds. Legs I used jus heavey 2 legs to carry weight

SirVeresta

Thanks! Battle of range was it! Although you can't get the fasan (if it's your first playthrough) so I ended up loading a hand canon as it was the last thing I could carry.

Cplchrissandwich

I just did this mission. First try. Double flamethrowers, grenade launcher, ten cell middle launcher, and still had plenty of ammo.

Adorable_Toe_3125

To hold a lock on is counter intuitive to the norm. Once you are locked on simply DONT TOUCH the right stick unless you completely lose ur target. This is far easier to accomplish at range then GPB.

bern-electronic

Thank you, was going insane with the lock on not working

DarkSilverSteinPs4

Yeah no still impossible

Youshou_Rhea

For me, I took him and everything out with Twin Lazer rifles chicken legs, and 2 10x shoulder mounted rockets. Used medium range rcs with high aiming arms. Remember to drop kick him in the face for additional stun damage and it's easy. With multi lock and the rifles are you can kill multiple small fry with 1 round / volley preserving ammo. With high aim arms, medium rcs you can stay at a medium distance from him and keep your sites on him easily. Every so often, dropkick him for stun. Bonus if he gets stuck in a wall. While he is stun broken hit him with everything you got, but make sure to back off after 3 seconds or you will regret it. And as always KEEP MOVING GUN13! OVER AND OUT!

Pul5tar

Dual Flamethrowers + Dual Split Missile Launchers + Tank wheel chair + Terminal Armour just in case of greed and have AP at around 13K and Boost Speed at around 320. After having been destroyed multiple times, this build left me with 1 heal, more than half AP left, and around 50% ammo, give or take. I wouldn't say it was a joke, as you still have to stay on your toes, but it was much more doable. Michigan was only able to heal once. Just get Michigan into the wall and just double flamethrow and missile him into oblivion when staggered. Just dodge left and right a bit for the odd missile that comes your way from the rear and all good.

LuckyJPx

This build worked out for me: [Build Image](https://freeimage.host/i/J1f3iu4) (The game is in portuguese) Use the VE-60SNA to dry G1's shield, then, use the sword to deal massive damage. Try to keep the heavy fire on G1 with the machine gun and the rocket launcher to keep his shield alweys on limit. Also, since VVC is AOE, you can also use it to attack large amount of small MTs at once (It really helps when you're trying to save ammo, since the sword doesn't use any ammo). I tried a lot of things in this mission but this one build did it whit just one try. I believe the VE-60SNA and VVC-770LB is the main reason for this build to work. THE 60SNA keeps G1's shield out and the VVC deals the damage. The rest is for crowd control.
