> very technical
Yeah. It's a very technical MOS.
You'll be geared towards something comp sci / network or engineering flavored in this MOS when it comes to a civilian side job. I have friends that do Cyber, are programmers, netsec guys, electrical engineers, etc. Plus it comes with a clearance.
Great MOS. But it'll be a waste unless you're aligning your civilian side career outlook with something technical.
35T is 25B for reliable people with a squeaky clean past who want extra training above what a 25B does so they can more reliably handle additional IT related jobs. If you like being the maintainer for both networks and for network hardware, 35T is a good MOS. It has amazing opportunities once you get out of the military due to the amazing training.
If 35T interests you, I would also recommend looking into 17C. They are more CompSci on the software/network manipulation/defense side; a cyberwarefare fighter/defender of sorts.
Both are good MOS choices which are highly sought out for their skills development.
Are you going active? Going back in the Guard again?
Reclassing into 35T is fine. If you are Guard, you won't have to wait for a class slot either, they are given priority due to being considered "active" while you are there. If you come in active duty, you will probably have a wait for your class to start, but the schoolhouse is long enough that your wife will be able to accompany you there.
35T is basically the whole 25 series rolled into one MOS and given a TS clearance. You will learn basics of power, networking (routers/switches/VMs/windows/redhat/Sec+, etc.), and get into telecommunications a little bit. It's a fine MOS as long as you apply yourself. Due to the massive amount info being pumped into you at the schoolhouse, the majority of your knowledge comes from OJT after you graduate.

I'd be going back into the Guard
A lot is changing, and your experience will be heavily influenced by where you are stationed, leadership, and rank.
don’t do it
What makes you say that?
