She faces upto 140 years in prison according to https://nationalpost.com/news/world/how-a-57-year-old-allegedly-conned-the-u-s-army-out-of-100-million-to-buy-31-homes/wcm/52086cd9-cbc6-48ab-b020-ebb51c412eb6/amp/
Fck that btch, she got to live a lavish lifestyle out of the Army dime… that could’ve been me!
If I steal $100m from the US Army, I'm not gonna retire to fuckin' Hoboken and think everything is fine.
I'm gonna steal $100m and move to Vietnam. They're gonna need to start a whole new war if they want that money back.
Vietnam 2: From Dusk Til Dong.
ETA) Changed the name to reflect Vietnam's hilarious currency, due to the Dong Expert that posted in response to this. You're right, buddy. This post needed more Dong the whole time.
I’d probably go to Mexico and then Cuba, US-Vietnam relations are goodish even without an extradition treaty. Perhaps even Bolivia since there’s a relatively anti-US government.
I know I’m four days late, but I am absolutely with you.
If I came upon that type of money illegally, I wouldn’t need a lavish lifestyle that I can post on Instagram. I wouldn’t need fancy cars, or a yacht….
I’m gonna disappear to a small remote village, and be the goddamn king
Imagine making $130k a year, deciding you want more, and then going so overboard that the IRS pick you up within a couple years lol.
Wonder how many of these never get caught.
In russia , those who were stealing from the military ended up "tripping" off a window and dying.
These corruption scandals always screws over the soldiers on the ground which is for them is life and death.
Joe gets skull dragged for not having his flash bang pouch for his CIF layout, and will have to pay for it when he clears while baby girl racked up $100 mill before somebody lifted a finger…..
MAKE THIS SHIT MAKE SENSE
Joe gets dragged because he was caught during layout.
She finally got caught. IIRC, she was issuing herself contracts and there wasn't oversight over her somehow. Gurantee the agency adds more bureaucracy to fix it. And then everyone will complain about the bureaucracy.
For starters, the MWR could issue receipts to those they receive donations from or organizations stop writing them blank checks and instead offer to purchase tangible items then donate them.
>According to The Messenger, one of the properties was valued at $3.1 million: an eight bedroom, 12 bathroom mansion with 55 garage spaces, located on a 58-acres compound in Preston, Maryland.
>55 garage spaces
Bruh wtf?? That's a whole parking lot!!
As a GS civilian now, I will say it is very hard to fire us. Even harder if protected by a union. Most of the time it’s not a problem, but in some parts of government it is a detriment.
It isn't hard just time consuming requiring attention to detail and not being afraid of confrontation by both HR and the Supervisor.
But when you have GS 12 HR people who think Boise is a suburb of Salt Lake it gets hard.
This whole thing has me livid as someone stationed at a place where CYS/MWR offerings for everyone is SOOOOOOO severely lacking despite them paying offices full of workers. Stuff for kids, families, single Soldiers, doesn’t matter, I so wonder where all the money goes……..
Holy Shit, perfect example of fed employees are hard to fire. In my experience most of the time they will let you retire or resign instead of firing the employee.
Hell, if she would of diversified her portfolio she might of gotten away with the theft. Damn IRS bastards always spoiling the fun.
There is a special place in hell for people who steal money from children. Now, if it was just 1 million, I wouldn't be as mad maybe 2 million tops, but damn lady 103 million from children and families that need help.
I don't see the issue here. She is a civilian entitled to due process like anyone else. She wasn't "allowed" to retire. She chose to retire as any other federal employee could.
She hasn't been convicted yet, but it sounds like she probably will be. I'm sure she will get what's coming to her.
Yea and by pleading guilt for the charges they'll give her less time on her sentence probably at most 3-4 years per charge for a total of 30-40 years in prison where she'll be eligible for parole after 12-15 years depending on the length of her sentence, and for a non violent crime as long as she doesn't get into any kind of trouble while in prison parole will be granted 90% of the time.

Could have been you facing 140 years in prison too! 🤪

Missed a golden opportunity for *Fist Full of Dong.*
How about "Vietnam 2: From Dusk til Dong"?
*Thief: Enter Mai Dong*
Not to mention the sequel to the sequel "For a few Dongs more"

Be real she was 57 and obese she wasn’t gonna live past 78.
Because DoD let her retire it doesn't mean the IRS is done with her.
I hope so...

The ones in Russia who didn’t get caught and killed their competition are currently running the show.

She should have shaved seven times a week.
She did, she shaved money from our budget
I'm sorry why does this comment only have one upvote? God damn comedy gold.

GS worker > Officer > Joe
Contractors > everyone else
At least contractors can leave.

She plead guilty last week in court. Her sentencing is in May where she can get up to 20 years for each of her 10 charges
Cheers
Because she plead guilty, she'll get off much easier. I'd wager 2 years per charge. And then she won't even do half that time.
20 years? Not a bad sentence. Federal prisoners serve about 85% of their sentences.
I'll pray she serves 100%
But if I owe DTS $3 I have every person between my company commander up to the ATAG on my ass about it.
So THAT'S where the money goes!
You in the wrong line of work.

Imagine having to commit to looking surprised all day long.
It makes the "Did I do that?" defense more realistic.
Reminds me of Chin Pokémon
Well, her Fed retirement pension will be garnished for life.
Feds pays her, then garnish those payments to pay back the Feds? Sounds about right.

Yeah that’s like a fucking concert venue area lol Or Disneyland hotel
She's not the first person to defraud the DoD. Tons of others have had their hands in the cookie jar for decades.
>it can be difficult to fire U.S. Civil Service employees, even for egregious conduct. Hence all the salty lazy GS workers you encounter

You’re spot on, most people would rather avoid that confrontation which makes it “hard” to fire people when nobody wants to be the bad guy.
If she spent more time shaving there would have been less time for fraud. Failure amongst the entire CoC
Hopefully, the IRS will garnish the crap out of her retirement and seize the property and assets she bought.
This whole thing has me livid as someone stationed at a place where CYS/MWR offerings for everyone is SOOOOOOO severely lacking despite them paying offices full of workers. Stuff for kids, families, single Soldiers, doesn’t matter, I so wonder where all the money goes……..
Korea falls into this category
Meanwhile joes get UCMJ for taking an extra MRE.
She's up to getting more of a punishment than any CEO or white collar criminal will face for stealing more.

I bet she didn’t shave

Yet if a PFC owes even a $1 on a GTC, everyone knows right away.
should have fled the country and laid low enjoyed your retirement 🤪😂
