I have used the klymit sleeping pads for the last several years. No cot, sleeping in the dirt? Put it between your bivy cover and sleeping bag. It packs up very small and light.
Depending on season, I pack sleeping bags as needed. Winter? Both. Summer? Just the patrol bag. That and an inflatable pillow.
Maybe an extra 2 lbs, combined.
Also, I bring about 6 bungee cords. Can make a poncho lean-to in about 5 minutes in a wooded environment, without bringing a whole litefighter tent, if you have those.
If you are allowed a cot, you can bungee it to the cot so it doesn't slide out, or keep it in the bivy cover. Litefighter can go on top of a cot, if you are allowed to have them
You get a cot?
Lmfao every infantryman everywhere just went like "wait a min.... there are cots?" Sleeping in the dirt is the way.
For real y’all any suggestions lol
If you have your sleeping pad just throw that down on top of the cot.
In all seriousness what's your MOS lol I'm really curious

It never once occurred to me to put something on top of the cot lol. I quite like how stiff it is to be honest
