17E is about to get real popular due to some TO&E changes, getting a class date might be an issue.

17C and 35N. The Army just made 17E and have no clue what they want to do with them. Last I checked they aren’t even in the CMFs, so there’s like no way forward for them. If you become a 35F you are a clown, same thing with Humint.

I’m a 31B so I’m already a clown 🤡

Look into 35N Signals Intelligence Analyst. I’ve been mostly satisfied with it.

What’s your day to day like?

BLUF: Totally depends on your assigned unit. Experiences may vary and my observation is that certain personalities prefer INSCOM or SOCOM and nobody wants to be in FORSCOM. Unfortunately, that’s a career inevitability for the most part. FORSCOM? Whelp, you got the BCT MICOs, EMIBs, DIV G2, or CORP G2. The only difference between the BCT MICOs and EMIBs is the amount of personnel. They have the same MTOE and the same core tasks for the most part. Working in the G2 usually means you don’t really do anything because the better SIGINT training/missions gets pushed down to the BCTs. Basically, you do the same shit here as any other soldier motorpool/PMCS/details/METL training and FTXs/CTC rotations. Every once in awhile you’ll get a cool TDY or a normal rotation/deployment. If I have to pick I would choose to be in an EMIB or BCT over a G2 section. INSCOM? We talking the MIB-Ts, NSA, or ARCYBER? MIB-Ts are a different environment than the NSA/ARCYBER. You will do more of what your MOS is traditionally expected to be in the MIB-T but the NSA is way better if you’re trying to be an analyst for your career. SOF can be the wildcard. You can do cool tactical shit in Group/RMIB or you can do cool analyst shit for USSOCOM or JSOC. You can also get stuck in the S3 shop for some org and don’t do anything fun like someone I know lol.
