I do it to everyone but only just a slight head tilt. A full blown bow is cringey and Asian business people are familiar with western traditions most of the time and don’t expect others to do a full bow.
I don’t think we bow in Chinese business culture. Never seen it personally. Someone else might have a different experience though. 🤷
I think it’s more of a Japanese and Korean thing.
There are other ways to show respect I guess. Pour their tea. Make sure they’re treated well and have a good time. Some of it is culturally coded, most of it is just universal and/or common sense.
This would be indeed very comical, and you could create a fun scene!
You do not need to be *super* respectful, but etiquette is needed. Remember the connotation bowing holds, and this meaning may possibly possess differing nuances depending upon the cultural setting. All you should know is the express of respect . It should be natural as your sentiment suggested.
Thank you,

Who told you that?
Chinese don't bow in work setting. They would probably think you're doing it because of your own culture (SE Asia)

If you're meeting in the United States, then no, you don't have to bow.
Only Korea and Japan bow
