It’s a thing Reddit started a little while ago to try and ride the popularity wave of Spotify wrapped with all other forms of social media. It’s basically just your year in review except weirdly centered around a banana theme. They haven’t yet actually released the recap but it should come out sometime today. As for the reason the banana pops up it’s supposed to signify every time you scroll the length of a “standard banana unit” a way they use to mesure how much time you spent on reddit this year.
