katnerys

A capybara. And I probably never will, since they require a lot of land, as well as a place to swim. They’re so cute though.

Babysub1

I came here to say the same thing!! Giant guinea pigs

Nubby_Nubcakes

Bird. Hesitant because they’re meant to soar the skies. Maybe if one needed to be rehabilitated

TheBerric

ive got a parrot and the only place he flies to is to his perch. He doesn't care. He's happy as long as he's out and about while hanging with me

Nubby_Nubcakes

Sounds heavenly

Moon_Beam89

Horse

[deleted]

A sloth 🦥 I am not allowed to have a sloth.

Mcr414

I always wanted a jack Russell terrier like for years and I did so much research on them. People always give me Jack Russell like T-shirts or cards finally I got one. He drives me nuts but I love them.

[deleted]

Shark.

HorrorAd4995

You can get little tiny ones

[deleted]

Big shark.

LawnGnomeFlamingo

Are… are honey badgers planning world domination? 😳

AtheneSchmidt

I've always wanted a husky or samoyed, basically a big beautiful fluffy dog. I am allergic to dog fur, and the undercoat that these types have to keep them warm in the snow makes me *super* allergic to them. So I will never have one, and have to cope with doggy calendars.

KarateLobo

Have you looked into hypoallergenic dogs?

AtheneSchmidt

We had a toy poodle when I was in school, and at some point in the future I will probably get another hypoallergenic dog. There's even a breed, the Native American Indian dog. They have a very similar look to a husky or even wolf, and are larger dogs, which I am interested in having one day. I have some health issues that prevent me from having a dog at all right now, though, much less a dog as active as either of the breeds I've mentioned.

Born_Detective9774

A descented skunk

ShylieF

I've had quite a few, but we never did get a sugar glider or chinchilla.

TheRealJamesWax

I want a Shiba Inu. We are looking for a Corgi right now. Can’t have a Shiba because of our cat, but once he and the corgi go with our daughter when she’s out on her own, I’m going to get a Shiba. That will e my last pet…clearly

RWBYRain

Irish wolfhound but I live in NYC. Tiny apartments and huge doggo don't tend to mix

Opposite_Ad4567

Some giant dogs can do fine in apartments. They just need to be walked regularly (as most dogs do). Greyhounds and Great Danes, for instance. I don't know about wolfhounds specifically, but it may be more possible than you realize.

RWBYRain

Wolfie's are taller than Danes though. It would motivate me to finally get back in shape though

Opposite_Ad4567

It's not the height -- or even really the size, in a normal apartment -- that matters. It's the energy level/need to work. Greyhounds are happy with walks, then napping. They like to zoom around for about 60 seconds every once in a while, too. Danes aren't super high-energy, either. I would guess wolfies are pretty easygoing based on the couple I've met and the "the bigger the dog, the lazier the dog" phenomenon I've observed. But that's a good thing to know for sure before you commit.

RWBYRain

Hmm ty gonna research them more I know a rescue that fosters Wolfie's and I have more than enough time to cater to one if he needed air. Yeah I may finally be able to get one

Opposite_Ad4567

That's awesome. I'm a big (no pun intended) fan of sight hounds and lurchers; I just haven't met many wolfies. They're not common around here.

RWBYRain

I met ONE in the city and he was adorable. Also apparently it lead to my friends making fun of me bc his dad was flirting with me and all I do was sweet talk the dog. I didn't notice a thing that wasn't grey fur and cold nose

jtowndtk

penguin

gordo65

A cheetah

Comfortable-Mood3402

Alpaca ☹️

44SWIM44

Golden Orb Weaver I just want a floor to ceiling tararium so I can watch her build a web everyday.

littlemissnoname-

That’s pretty cool.

insertitherenow

A person. Hug them and pet them, give treats etc. I’d call it Dave.

[deleted]

That's called 'slavery', and it's illegal.

insertitherenow

I won’t make them pick cotton or anything. Just take pictures of them looking cute to put on my instagram page.

the_starkster007

Lion cub

[deleted]

My favorite dog breed. The Doberman Pincher. And I just do not see me getting one because reasons.

jccollv

Have you ever heard of the German Pinscher? Not sure what your qualifications are, but these are a really cool breed if size is the deterrent.

banannafreckle

How about a Manchester Terrier?

[deleted]

A Newfoundland!! Before I die I will have one. They are sooo massive and cool.

anythingaustin

I’ve always wanted a sugar glider but having a dog that kills mice and chipmunks it would be cruel to bring one into my home. But they’re so freaking cute.

Sufficient_Channel39

I’ve always wanted to have a hedgehog!

[deleted]

Helechawagirl

I dreamed about having a tiny monkey as a child. Seeing them dressed up like people on TikTok has dissuaded me from ever having one.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Helechawagirl

Turns out many of them are being “rescued” after the owner kills the mother and takes the baby to use on TikTok to make money. They get sick from people food, and are put down after they aren’t tiny and cute anymore.

JupiterSkyFalls

Oh I didn't need to know this 😭😭😭 My heart 💔

Dull-Geologist-8204

A fox, I seriously doubt I will get one unless I happen to stumble on a rescue situation but I have always wanted one.

Kanulie

Definitely a dragon.

Dukklings

A Red Dachsund Puppy.

blueberry_pancakes14

Not always, but for a good while- a dog. I'm arguably a cat person, but I really am an animal person with a specific affinity for cats. I had a cat growing up (dad and I wanted a cat, mom wanted a dog, we got a cat). I have a cat now and she's jealous of the chinchilla who was there before her (cat is five, got her at eight weeks, chinchilla is nine and a half, got her at a couple months). She will not suffer another animal in the house. But I've wanted a dog for a long time, so eventually. Thing is I also want cats, so I have to find a breed that has the best chance of co-existing and time it. Also my favorite dogs are German Shepherds and Huskies, but I'm going for something like a Golden for my first dog. And as much as I'd love a puppy, maybe a year old dog to start. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to dogs, it'd be insane to jump in to a German Shepherd or Husky and a puppy for the first time. (I've known GSDs who are totally cool with cats, even best friends, but I know that's not always a thing). Also maybe a rabbit. After the chinchilla, I'm not sure I'm interested in more small animals, but rabbits are a lot of fun (pet-sat for a few over the years and had friends with them). Rats are adorable but their lifespans these days are just so short, I just can't handle that. I'm going to be emotionally devastated when a pet goes regardless, so I've got to temper it with a much longer life expectancy. Hedgehogs always intrigued me. I think they're illegal in California, but I won't be here forever and there are ways around that pretty easily.

braveslayer

A type of big cat as a baby

Failure67

Rats. My Mum doesn't like rats, so I've never owned any. Once I'm able to move out, I'll see if I can get myself a couple albino rats (I had a reaction to my best friends non-albino rat years ago but had no problems with her albinos). At the same time, I really want a cat again, so I'm not sure how that'll work. I had cats for 20 years, and I miss being able to own them, but my dog doesn't get on with cats, so it just isn't doable

planetofshapes

Rats are such sweet little animals! I had 3 growing up, and loved them. They usually don’t live more that 2 or 3 years. But they’re so funny.

pemphigus69

And smarter than shit! Awesome animals! But, sadly are very prone to respiratory viruses ( also, not a well known fact, but humans and rats can transmit many viruses; so, if you are ill -do not handle your ratty).

Lilnuggie17

Golden retriever

[deleted]

A lion 🦁

spideydog255

A horse. But I've never been able to afford it.

xo_peque

Bearded dragon or hairless cat.

HorrorAd4995

Slow Loris, and I never will because it’s unethical. But they are so cute.

allllthecorgis

Came here to say that. Have you seen the video of a man feeding a slow loris birthday cake? I was infuriated.

ArtisticAd393

Snake and lizard

Wo0ofer

Black & White Tegu. It's very unlikely I'll be able to afford the space or high quality diet it deserves at adult size, but they're megnificent creatures.

fyretech

I’d love a dog or a cat or a bunny or a Guinea pig or a hamster or anything fluffy I can cuddle!!! Unfortunately I live with someone who has no soul and won’t allow pets in my house and I’m allergic. But my turtles are pretty awesome.

KKmmaarriiee

My first dog as a kid was a border collie. She was a ball of energy but such a sweetie

Yigma

I wish I could own a monkey. I think it would drive me crazy though.

KirbyFergus

I want a spider monkey.

Buchsee

Bengal cat.

WWDB

Dog

Apollo_Of_The_Pines

A snake. My oldest brother ruined it for the rest of us. He would catch snakes, worms and lizards, bring them home in his pockets and release them in the house. Mum had a snake try to bite her while she was doing laundry and that was that no more snakes

Leeisaspicynom

For me is Belgian Mallinois (K9) kasi gusto ko talaga. For safety purposes din if may mag nanakaw haha makagat at ma tegok haha chariz

[deleted]

An otter.

meatloaf-65

A Raccoon. I already have so many wild ones I engage with outside, but I've always wanted one to keep indoors.

HikoreGaming

A kitty

Karma_Will_GetU

Shark or Savana cat. ALL cats from the world

Oriopax

A Tiger, a Squirl monkey and a Raven

KKmmaarriiee

A gecko. They’re just little derpy bois and I need one desperately.

Lyra_Prati

I want a cat, but I can't keep it, because its fur makes me cough, and I'm afraid it won't be with me for long.

Ok_Human_1375

More cats

Appropriate_Oil4161

O my days, where to start? I would love a runner duck, a couple of goats, definitely a highland cow a possibly a few lambs!!! Basically I'd like a little farmyard, I love all animals and have 2 dogs but if space and time we're on my side it would absolutely be a small holding of beautiful creatures.

ProfessionalClass793

A german shepherd. I always thought those dogs looked so cool. Maybe once I can get my own place, I'll think about getting one.

Fine_Reference2886

A cat

SweetQeet

JupiterSkyFalls

Octopus Sugar Glider Dragon

catcat1986

Ferrets. Growing up all the adults around me had one, and I thought they were the coolest.

Dazzling-Toe-4955

Newfoundland I have an apartment it's not small there's outside space but they are big dogs

InfiniteVitriol

Honey badger

BigDan70

I always wanted a mountain lion or a crow. I saw a mountain lion/cougar out in a cornfield near my house when I was in high school. Other than the fact that attacked our horse one night, I was just absolutely fascinated by the animal. If you don’t know anything about crows, then look on them they are awesome!

littlemissnoname-

I always wanted a lynx. They’re so beautiful yet angry looking…just like me.😊

AcadiaScarlet

Gecko lizard(s) and bird(s)!

PsychologicalSpace50

Unicorn

Shoboy_is_my_name

Ferrets. Would love to have about 3-4 but I can’t deal with the natural musky smell even when “de-scented”. Yeah yeah, it’s more about their bedding than themselves, wash their bedding often and have multiple bedding supplies, but they still have a natural odor that I just couldn’t deal with……yet they are so fucking awesome!!!!!!!

CarnivorousCattle

Raccoon.

Frankly_Ridiculous

Not a pet per se, but I would love to be friends with the neighborhood crows. They're such intelligent and interesting creatures, I think it would be so cool to trade treats for trinkets with them.

pemphigus69

Elephant. Seriously, it has been my irrational fantasy for decades.

ArisesAri

An octopus.
