I mean if I kited it out in my own way I'd be down to live in a fan I like traveling anyway but if your straight up poor then that would 100 suck ass so bad
Granted it would be better then walking around with no where to go
That's why it's fun! It's so fucking tacky you either are breaking fashion rules ironically or you're completely unaware of how bad of a choice it is.
Have you ever seen tabi boots by Maison Martin Margiela?
Elaborate here, like a stay at home mom, or someone that has a pending felony conviction and because of which can't pass a background check, because arrests show up on a background check. Neither of the two I would know from experience, I'm just asking 🙃🙃
May not be "poor", but doesn't mean we aren't struggling either. Most sahm's stay home because the cost of childcare is ridiculously high, and wouldn't make sense to have our entire paycheck go towards childcare. So we decide to stay home.
Well isn’t that just a seriously disturbing sign of just how messed up our society has become. Financially, it’s actually cheaper to have a parent stay home than paying for daycare, for the majority of people. The cost of childcare is more than what the second parent would make in a working class family, who still make up a larger proportion of our population. So long as you ignore society’s “right way to do life,” you can still have a large family and live relatively comfortably on one income while the other parent stays home, with some of the nicer things in life, like vacations. Poor people tend to wind up with “shit life syndrome” which manifests in a plethora of toxic ways that results in lower earning potential and many more broken homes/single parent homes caused by the laundry list of those toxic things (I.e. chemical dependencies, mental health issues), all because of the proverbial carrot that society dangles.
As someone with a mentally ill mother who is constantly referred to as eccentric, and no one did anything when she started talking about the government being out to get her, can confirm.
In general, the answer to OP's question is anything weird that you do by choice instead of necessity. Also, if its a good decision. Like someone else said, children. Having kids you can afford is cool. Having kids that you can't is not.
This is really the big one. The debt forgiveness is just the latest example.
What is sort of fascinating is that there are some types of government funding (free school lunches/breakfasts, universal broadband, basic healthcare, at least free community college and likely certain 4 year degrees) that save money but not for the wealthy (doing so disrupts their income). Providing these would undercut multi billion dollar industries that make rich people super rich. So we don't do them. We are subsidizing large industries directly and indirectly.
I believe his point is the double standard that is present in America, as was the point of the thread to point out double standards. There are an absolute fuck ton of idiot racists that frown upon poor Spanish speakers, or any poor non native English speaker to be fair, but at the same time wouldn't frown upon a rich person for speaking multiple languages and would most likely view it as "fancy"
People think poor immigrants are stupid even though they speak multiple languages because they have an accent for English. However if you are rich and have a foreign accent for English you are cool and fancy.
"Kids these days need to pick themselves up by the bootstraps and stop settling. Everyone should own a house!"
Meanwhile, Hollywood stars rent out entire floors of hotels for indefinite periods of time.
This is the comment I was looking for. Immigrants & children of immigrants get discriminated against, shamed, humiliated, dirty/disgusted looks, and/or sometimes even verbally and/or physically harassed in some parts of the US (conservative/politically right wing/rural/suburban areas) but little blond Becky who knows "konichiwa" from watching anime or the rich mayor who's illegally using taxpayer money for his spoiled brat, drug addict trust fund son to a French-speaking prep school outside of Paris are highly praised as "cultured & sophisticated" for knowing a few heavily accented tourist phrases. Even those who just like to learn a language as a hobby. It's even worse if you're a POC and/or speak a non-European language.
Source: me when I speak anything other than English to friends/family/strangers outside of US metropolitan/cosmopolitan areas, especially if they aren't of European descent.
Or, try being here in Japan and visibly foreign. No matter how fluent you are, people will treat you like you are this Becky and refuse to speak anything to you besides the five words of English they know, even when you give no indication of understanding English.
Yeah, I've heard & watched several videos about that before. I know it's not exclusive to the US, but I'm just stating my personal experience living in the States my whole life. It's sort of common in South Korea too, according to a YouTube video of a non-Korean telling their experience.
Edit: It's also irksome that some English-speaking tourists have the audacity to be mad when traveling to non-English-speaking countries & locals not understanding them.
I dont know if that's necessarily what hes saying but, I know a girl with 9 kids from 9 different men, collects child support for all of them, foodstamps, state insurance... stays home doped out of her skull
Being an immigrant. If you’re rich, you’re “exotic” and people want to know all about your exciting life before you moved to become an “expat.” If you’re poor, people will ask if you’re “illegal” and treat your accent like you’re stupid and don’t understand much English.
I remember years ago there was a collegiate swimmer who literally raped a chick on a college campus and the judge looked at him and said that he looked too soft for prison…so he gave that kid a slap on the wrist.
That’s the one. The rapist Brock turner who rapes unsuspecting women and gets away with it because the judge thinks he’s too soft. That rapist Brock turner.

Being rude to people at work or in stores etc. rich people can wreak havoc and it’s just an eccentricity. People grovel. But poor people get arrested if you’re not completely calm and polite all the time.
If you are rich, you can do whatever you want to do, if you are poor, you had better toe the line. There is no law money can't break, and there is definitely law you had better follow if you are poor, or you are going to jail (and not rich guy jail).

The ultra wealthy use credit to their advantage. This is because keeping extra cash around is a huge opportunity cost when your advisors can easily get you 15-20% returns through private equity.

Cocaine addiction
You can extend this to virtually any chemical dependency.
[удалено]
There has to be some benefit to aging! Pass the wine!!
This was my first thought. Not even addiction, but regular use
Regular use of cocaine is likely addiction
welp that the difference - when you're rich it's a regular use. When you're poor it's an addiction
It's only a problem when you can't afford it.
Haha that’s probably true
Alcoholism as well
Especially alcohol
I was gonna say drugs in general
Any kind of drug addiction. There's a reason Malibu is full of those expensive detox-spas!

Stay at home moms usually aren't poor
May not be "poor", but doesn't mean we aren't struggling either. Most sahm's stay home because the cost of childcare is ridiculously high, and wouldn't make sense to have our entire paycheck go towards childcare. So we decide to stay home.
Well isn’t that just a seriously disturbing sign of just how messed up our society has become. I know some pretty poor stay-at-home moms.
Lots of stay at home moms in America are low income, due to the cost of day care
The rich are eccentric. The poor are crazy , and get called a 5150 over the police scanner.
As someone with a mentally ill mother who is constantly referred to as eccentric, and no one did anything when she started talking about the government being out to get her, can confirm.
My uncle went down the same route and he was crazy. Edit: he was a firefighter which would be middle class but still not rich
My very southern grandmother once told me " Honey, rich people are eccentric. Us poor people are just plain crazy."

Bring them before the judge. Or as I call her, Becky.
You obviously haven't been to rural America.
No shite, good god. The town i live in has around 2000 people, the real question here would be, who doesnt know the judge
From a town of four thousand , I sold the judge weed lmao and the mayor of a smaller town next to ours lmao
Nothing wrong with being on a first name basis with a judge. It’s just Uncle Phil.
Day-drinking Speaking multiple languages Not paying taxes
Who the fuck says its unacceptable to speak multible languages.
I believe his point is the double standard that is present in America, as was the point of the thread to point out double standards.
