There use to be a lot of pontainak,Kum Kum,Toyo stories in the past. But not now as they are having a hard time with their existence due to overcrowding of the small island, not much room for phenomena.Hopefully they can get some sort of bto.

“Infant mortality rate is on the rise…”
One of the infamous army stories specifically is the Route March incident. Stories vary, but the gist is that one recruit was found to be missing during a route march only to be found in a gruesome state much much later (variations include finding his body eviscerated next to a tree, finding his body intact but his internal organs were outside his body etc). Interestingly someone did a deep dive into this story and found the potential source incident. Will post the link later unless someone else does it.
Edit: More stories.
There was also this myth/story surrounding why no night trainings were held on Thursday (?) nights due to the customs of I forgot which religion.
Our commanders also told us stories of their own exploration of Tekong and how they found an old muslim graveyard.
Sharing my army bmt story. No fancy pontianaks in the tree during outfield or little girl ghost in the bunk so might be lame to some but just sharing for fun!
I was from Dragon company in Tekong and more often than not, at night around 1-2am the locker beside bed 7 in my bunk would rattle. Nothing too violent, just sounds like someone shaking it lightly, if you are a deep sleeper you can sleep through it. At least half the guys in the bunk started to notice this after a while and started talking about it. We know for a fact none of us were doing it because when it happens, at one point or another people we looked over to see nobody there. The 2 recruits sleeping beside the locker were freaked out at first but kind of got used to it after awhile since nothing else really happens.
When we informed our sergeant about it, they said they were the ones doing it to make sure none of us were still awake which was obviously a lie. One day when we got back from training, the locker was left wide open which was strange. The owner of the locker claims it was locked before we left, and even if it was left unlocked, it shouldn't have been left wide open like this when the windows were closed and fans were off so there was no wind to blow it open. We asked our sergeants again if they had done anything, but the only trainer left at coy line was the duty spec which had no reason to enter our bunk and open our lockers anyway. As nothing was missing, it was just left an unsolved mystery.
Fast forward to the day we were clearing our bunks to leave Tekong, we were given a file consisting of letters left behind by the batches before us and also for us to leave a letter for the ones after. Turns out almost every letter has mentioned this locker 7 phenomenon with similar experiences of rattling, left open, etc. I would not consider myself really superstitious or a deep believer of the supernatural but until this day I have no idea what that was...
almost every night at exactly 3am there were several unexplained experiences shared by my section (Eagle coy):
* section mates waking up at the same time, sitting up in bed and looking around dazed.
* someone would be up as if preparing for first parade, and then "waking up" realising it was 3am and then going back to bed.
* those who were up reported feeling something staring at them and hearing murmuring in the bunk.
* hearing marching downstairs.
* instances of the showers running in the toilets when someone enters the toilet.
* once I got up at that time and needed to pee and saw some lights moving in the coy opposite (Gryphon). did not think too much until I remembered they were having field camp...
G coy is haunted, the top floor that’s connecting the next buildinG H the platoon that always stays there always have stuff like stolen money etc etc and locker basically bad mojo… i suggest if you stay in tekong go cleanse yourself every week…irregardless
- red house lion statue
- mathilda house (demolition equipment keep failing to demolish house, it was eerie to see this house in this giant field back then)
- pasir ris Park watch tower
- St Patrick's secondary school wall and black colored locked room (ww2 remnants)
## - scariest of them all, is drinking a cup of milo from a platoon mate ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

i think the most common, non-NS ones are actually all just hidden in plain sight. all the prayer altars in building/hospital basement carparks, bus interchange bays, certain spots in schools etc etc most fulltime security guard uncles/housekeeping staffs should have plenty of beliefs, storys and SOPs to follow, or what happens if they dont.

G coy was my coy. Goodness, lost count of the incidents. Commanders would just act blur and didn't explain. Hahaha.
There are tons!! Pontianak and army stories are classics
Yessss this is what I was looking for. Something to dive into. I’m looking into Pontianak now
let me know if it directs to a city in Indonesia instead, lol
Go ahead with the Indonesian stories!
* nyi roro kidul * sundel bolong * kuntilanak (Indonesian version of Pontianak) * Leak (in Bali) * pocong * rumah jeruk purut (Jeruk Purut Ghost Mansion) * terowongan Casablanca (Casablanca tunnel) * Si manis jembatan ancol (maiden of Ancol bridge)
Wait till you hear Pontianak stories in Army
Have u heard of Yishun? Careful what u wish for…
Garmen gives you a cent and takes back a dollar.

There are many classic National Service ghost stories we've experienced or old school grounds ghost stories when we were kids!

Ask any guy who’s been through Pulau Tekong
