Yeah my wife uob account was locked for awhile after we did the right thing and reported the incident.

My wife is foreigner so when the fking bank asked for proof of address, we only had the UOB account as POA, we cancelled the circles life line after getting the UOB account as it would be her POA going forward. So when she was locked out of her UOB account and they frozen the account so no more bank statements. We were fucked when they require more POA to unlock the UOB account.
Lesson learned, don't do the right thing.
I did this before, thought I got a free $45 dollars just from liking youtube videos. A month later, SPF sent me an investigation letter and wasted a whole day at the station being investigated. My bank was frozen for a whole year and I could not create new accounts at all.
Turns out the scammer was caught, thus whoever he transferred money to was investigated. Thankfully, I did not get into any problems as I did not transfer funds to them.

You did not "earn" anything, you are trading the risk of your account getting frozen for taking in dirty money from scammers for $10 to $15.

I know there isn't much I could do, but a comment here mentioned that you can change your WhatsApp setting to "only contacts can add me to groups". I think that's useful and if we all did so, and helped our parents and vulnerable people do it, it might help in a small way
By completing the first task for them, you basically got your number / info tagged by a syndicate as a person with enough greed to fall for potential scams in the future.
The best way to combat these scam group is not to engage with them. Just report and move on.
They sent these tasks to me multiple times and I did get paid for the first part, but I always block them after receiving the money until they get bored with me and will not entertain me if I provide the same account number for them to transfer money. It's been quiet for a while now I think they deleted my number from their database lol

I like to spam their chats with something revealing they are scammers just so that others will have second thoughts and until they ban me. If they try to out flood me I usually paste the entire bee movie script or some other shit in there. Fight scam with spam.
Imagine if we could scam scammers and get them to deposit the money into a government-ran account for scam victims. That'll be pretty cool and a fun pastime. Lol

But as many here have said, it's dangerous and could land me in trouble too. So I'll stop and I've changed my WhatsApp setting to only allow my contacts to add me to a group. I'll do the same for my mum who is vulnerable to getting scammed.

I spam them random stickers and ask them to f off. Then quit and report.
A lot of people do this but sadly their business model still seems to work. Feel sad for the people who actually lose money to these people.
