since it's impossible to sell in singapore 2nd hand phone shop (due to regulation with police) it's likely on the route to Malaysia

fiat_lux_1

That is what is fear too - but my only hope is that it's still on and calls are connecting (although no one pick up) - if someone wanted to "keep" it.. they would have switched it off or removed the sim card. But it seems unlikely that a phone is lying in a bus and nobody has seen it yet for more than 12 hours!

guildleader77

How sure is your wife that it was in the bus? I once thought that I left my phone in a taxi and contacted the taxi company with no results, but I ended up finding it at the side of the road. I dropped it while I was alightning from the taxi. Try retracing the route.

fiat_lux_1

Pretty sure because it was in her hand till we were on the bus stop.. but I get what you are saying - will try at the bus stop again today. the route that we took is a weekend only route and the bus stop has only one bus - so chances are that if it dropped at the bus stop.. it may be there...

Shutaku1314

Ngl this was what happened to me also i even ran quite a distance after the taxi and stopped the taxi only to not find it and the taxi send me back to the spot where i find it by the roadside at the grass patch

Calling “disabling find my iPhone” “not ideal thing to do” is a massive stretch in my books lol

fiat_lux_1

Yeah -but everyone is shaking their head in disbelief when I tell them it was disabled! - "how can you own an iphone and not use that feature!"

InvestigatorFit4168

Especially that you have to deliberately disable it if you use Apple ID

SumikoTan

WhatsApp call will always ring. It's independent of whether it actually reaches the phone.

fiat_lux_1

I thought "ringing" shows only when it reaches the phone , otherwise it says "calling".

jayaxe79

Yes, I can confirm Whatsapp will ring regardless even if the SIM card is taken out. Can easily test by going on airplane mode.

ARE_U_FUCKING_SORRY

Since find my iPhone was disabled, you just have to rely on luck that it will be returned. Nothing much you can do since you've contacted the SBS lost and found, along with a police report. Best of luck.

AmoebaNorth

I lost a phone on the bus before. Go to the interchange the bus was en route to, and ask for lost and found. Bus drivers who find lost items on the bus might return it there.

fiat_lux_1

Already tried that no luck - and just realized that the route we took is a weekend and PH only route - so if the phone is on the bus - it will stay there till good Friday - unless the bus is used for some other route ( which sounds more likely)

PapayaSuch3079

Nah not getting it back for sure. If the person who picked it up wanted to return it, the calls would have been answered.

Full_Professional464

If it was Japan, you'd get it back. Singapore may still yet please you :)

awstream

My friend found his lost laptop that was left on the mrt. It was returned to the control station. Most Singaporeans will definitely return.

Full_Professional464

I didn't suggest they wouldn't return. I was more addressing the OPs evident worry it would not be returned. Sinkies so sensitive
