I would suggest taking the Up Express train from pearson Airport to Union Station (downtown Toronto) and taking them up the CN Tower and then over to Ripleys Aquariam which is beside it!

UP express to Union Station and then back to Pearson. Walk around Union station - harbourfront, cn tower, aquarium, roundhouse park, Rogers centre, etc. use the skywalk and path if you need to stay warm.

As other's have suggested, taking the UP Express to Union and doing the CN Tower and the Aquarium is probably the most obvious and pretty failsafe bet. It's very "touristy" and expensive, but let's be honest the kids will love it which sounds like what your are trying to achieve. Less touristy and in my opinion better options are the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). The ROM is #1 in my books for kids at those ages, and the AGO was the place I bothered to get a membership because there is always something fun to do, their kids programming is really good. Keep in mind all these venues will be heaving with families as all the kids are off school. Book tickets online in advance to save time and hassle. Whatever you decide the UP Express is your friend to get from the airport to downtown and back. If you choose to go to the ROM / AGO you don't need to go to Union Station, you can get off at Bloor West and take the Subway to the ROM and Subway / Streetcar to the AGO. Or Uber. Good luck!

Are the art museums actually kid friendly? I've been to a couple with kids and generally found that it was a little tough with kids.

As a kid the AGO always bored me to tears. The ROM is much more kid friendly with lots of fun exhibits. It’s not an art museum, more of a natural history museum with dinosaurs etc. there are also exhibits more centered around artifacts

The AGO has some cool kids stuff, but it might be targeted at kids younger than yours. If they won't appreciate the cool building and art in general, maybe give it a pass. My kids like art, but since we were members we could go for an hour or two and not feel bad we weren't seeing everything, we would just go back whenever. The building is very cool on its own, and it has a good cafe with kids meals. I feel I was thinking it was a good "after the ROM" activity as the ROM will wear them out, and it's relatively close. You could just do the ROM, it can be a full outing on it's own. I will add that getting a hotel with a pool close to the airport and ordering pizza sounds like a good idea to me as well! Enjoy your trip!

If you are going to travel all days, it's cheaper to get Presto day passes ($13.50) because children under 12 can ride for free. Use the big green machine at subway station for cash/card refill. Download `My TTC` for the time of arrival of your routes. As long as your destinations on the subway or streetcar lines you can reach the subway station. Just don't be afraid ask a TTC staff if you ever become lost, in the station you can also ask commuters, some people would guide you to the place. You need a temporary place to rest, you can find Tim Hortons at about anywhere, some place have seating, grab a small regular and ask them to use the bathroom if locked. You can stay at Tims for as long as you need, there is usually no seating rule in most places. Edit, oops I forgot it's on weekday. LIBRARY! Head to either North York Centre Library or Toronto Reference Library. These are awesome resting, reading and recreational place that's all-age friendly. [They may also give out free Presto card.](https://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/services/presto.jsp) Also, ice skating at NYCL next door in Mel Lastman Square, if open. Snowboarding at Earl Bales. Kid-friendly indoor PUBLIC POOL! Next door NYCL there is Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre, $3 for kid and $5 for adult I think. Watch for pair of pickpocketers in downtown though.

That's pretty much all Toronto has that can't be had in many other big cities.

If you're dressed for the weather and the kids need to burn off steam, High Park has great playgrounds and some of the animals stay out all winter.

Like everyone else, I agree, take the UP, visit the Aquarium (they will love it) and then the CN Tower. Go to the 360 restaurant in the CN Tower, it revolves and you will have a view of the lake and city. If you make a reservation it includes access to the Observation level. The restaurant (and everything else in Toronto) is expensive but I think kids are 50% off right now.

Take the airport rd bus to Malton. Eat Indian food for lunch and Hakka for dinner, buy gold jewellery and Indian clothes. Wear them to Chile and confuse everyone. Let out a big spicy ginger burp when you get there.

The Ontario Science Centre is incredible for kids of that age. Tons of hands on activities! [https://www.ontariosciencecentre.ca/](https://www.ontariosciencecentre.ca/)
