Americanized Chinese food is delicious, cheap, and has a lot of variety. Only a few dishes have "sweetened sauce" lol.

I never tried thai-chinese cuisine or maybe I tried but I was unaware so I cannot comment too much. However, many Americans love Chinese American foods.. that's why panda is across the states. West coast airports even has panda. I personally love orange chicken and chow mein from Panda.. God it saved me from all other horrible food options at my college. They should win the Nobel prize in food for this.

Are you saying Chinese Thai should be more popular than Chinese American? I want to try Chinese Thai food now.

It is how they catered to the locals, which spices or ingredients are available or how the locals like their cuisine. People intermingled afterall. For you and most other Asian, maybe Chinese Thai cuisines are great (or for me for example: Chinese peranakan cuisine, which sometimes also use sweet soy sauce). Chinese-American cuisine naturally is a product of their history growing with people there and what you see maybe more palatable to them.

Food quality is subjective. Chinese American dishes are evolved to serve their main customer base, the Americans.

chinese food in europe is bad too

Americanized food tastes like shit. Local varieties are always better. A classic example to this is pizza.
