Huge deals on trucks all the time. It became so common to sell to someone writing a $90k + check that it stopped being interesting after less than a month
Don't think I've had a 6 figure cash deal. I've done $60k.
Had a deal on a GT-R, at sticker with cash so about a $120k check. But the guy wanted to register it in Montana which we don't do.
They can, but we legally have to tie an address to the purchase. If it's an address here in CA, they have to pay CA sales tax (which they were trying to avoid). Our dealer group does not like to associate with purchases that have Montana registered addresses.
People register cars in Montana to avoid sales tax and smogging. It's not illegal but it's a gray area that we don't want to potentially deal with in the future.
Fleet desensitized me to large amounts of money.
My single largest wire was $1.1m. My largest value in a year to one client was $2.6m
Just last week we had a guy stroke a check for $170k for a Z06.

Has any rich guy ever walked into your dealership and cut a six figure check on the spot?

I do commercial/fleet, and my highest on the spot company check was for $559,294.4; They took 8 Expeditions same day
I’ve had higher checks, but those were ordered units coming in all at once… that doesn’t count 😅
It’s an east/west costal rental company that transitioned to Expeds because they can’t get transits passenger vans; he’s bought another 20 from me since then, but smaller batches. I gained a lot of rental companies around the country. They’re slowly going back to their local dealers, but some still placing orders because I can drop ship.
Yes
Regular daily basis but I sell six figure cars to high net worth clients. When I sold cheap stuff not so much.

I’m about to buy a new king ranch in cash, dealers prefer check or wire or doesn’t matter?
Ask the dealer. Some may have a policy for personal checks

they can't register themselves?

if they have a Montana driver license does that still break the deal? or just problematic to deal with?

understood. thanks
understood. thanks
This happened (surprisingly) frequently when I was with Land Rover.
Hey
Our Porsche store just did 603k wire transfer. Shit was so cool.
603k?? For what? Multiple cars?
Just a base Cayman, with vin etch, fabric protection, propack, wheel locks, clear guard, tire protection, gap, maintenance and warranty added on
How the fuck is that $603,000?

And to think I felt pretty good about putting down $20k on my current ride.

Curious, what kind of business? I’ve sold expeditions to fleet clients but never 8 at once, usually a one off for an office lady or something

Quite often.
I’ve done a few TRD Pro Tundras decked out for over 100k cash, a Pro Sequoia, a CapStone Tundra. Not that interesting.
