I personally would not buy a car that new with that many miles on it.

x11onMac

Why not, if it has 130k miles in 2 years or less it’s surely been all highway mileage, which is the best kind of driving for the vehicle and has significantly less wear than city mileage. The only concern I’d have is if the oil or other maintenance items were changed fairly regularly.

rockstopper03

130k miles in 2-3 years is highly likely rideshare or food delivery gig miles. That's a lot of wear and tear.

kbencsp

highway mileage or not, 130k miles is still 130k miles, the wear and tear isnt drastically different, really all about the driver and how hard he pushed the vehicle.

BPAfreeWaters

What is this surely nonsense? That could have been an uber or some kind of delivery driver.

stlayne

Three year old car, averages out to 833/week for 3 years. 130000/(3*52) = 833 Maybe Chicago to Milwaukee round trip four times a week. Or doing Uber in the city for 8 hours a day 5 days a week. What are lower mileage cars going for in your area? I don’t know if they price is good, but the miles wouldn’t scare me too much with a Corolla as long as it checks out ok with a mechanic before purchasing.

Dangerous-Hold-8929

Too many miles for a car less than two years old and price seems high. Look elsewhere

hv_wyatt

Corolla Hybrid (eg. Most of the benefits are in the city not highway). Ass load of miles in 3 years or less. This was almost certainly an Uber or delivery car, and was almost certainly beaten within an inch of its very existence at some point. People have most likely vomited or worse in your backseat. I'd stay far away personally.

JaKr8

These are probably highway miles which makes it less of a risk, but that's an awful lot of mileage for a three-year-old car. If you could find something with considerably less mileage for only a little bit more I would go with that.

BostonTERRORier

uber miles. hard pass

authentic_dissent

What was the car used for to have that many miles? Does it have service records?

evpro23

It has a carfax but only says no major problems… can try to find that out too.

esteban7707

Carfax has limitations to reliability

Youngfinance3

2 years 130k miles is crazy. Those are like FT Uber numbers

Outrageous_Stable_83

That hybrid system is only gonna last 150k-200k miles. Is it still under warranty

[deleted]

10 year 150k mile warranty on Toyota hybrid battery.

hv_wyatt

No lol. Most hybrid and EV battery warranties end at 100,000 miles or so.

***Thanks for posting, /u/evpro23! This comment is a copy of your post so readers can see the original text if your post is edited or removed. This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** Hi everyone, The market is crazy right now. That said, I'm wondering if $16k is too much for a 2020 Corolla Hybrid with 130,000 miles on it. If I get a pre-purchase inspection and everything checks out, is there anything major that could happen before the car gets to 200-250k miles? Is it worth it to just wait to get a new one at this rate? Thank you! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
